  • can i keep more than one male dwarf gourami?

I have slowly been adding to my cycled 55 gallon community tank.

I've got platies, guppies, endlers, balloon mollies, and swortails.

I want a bigger centerpiece fish, preferably a dwarf male gourami. Can I keep 2 or can I add a honey gourami with the dwart male gourami?

  • top and bottom frames are cracked on 55 gallon?

I recently got a 55 gallon aquarium off Craigslist and I didn't realize until I started filling it up that the top and bottom frames are cracked. (the plastic trim, not the glass)

Will this cause my tank to break under stress? What can I do to fix it? Will silicone fix the cracks?

  • help making a hood with light?

I just got 2 55 gallon tanks for a steal but they do not have lids. What is the best diy option to make my own lids and lighting for these? Buying one new hood is double the money I paid for both of these together and I would rather minimize costs since I need filters etc also.

    Thanks

  • would this fry tank work?

i have a cycled 10 gallon tank with some tetras in it. I am about to move them and a betta to a larger tank.

My balloon mollies are pregnant and I want to keep the fry alive. can i move the fry to the 10 gallon once i move the other fish? does it matter that there is gravel in there?

I already have pantyhose over the filter intake.

    thanks

  • will hatchet fish mesh?

My 30 gallon tank has 5 balloon mollies, 5 kuhli loaches, and 4 male guppies.

will 5 hatchet fish mesh with them or will they conflict any others?

ive plugged it into aqadvisor already and my tank would only be 85% stocked... I don't plant to stock it 100%.

    please only serious answers.

  • how can i reduce the current on my filter?

I have a ten gallon divided tank for my veiltail and crowntail bettas.

The filter is on the side of the crowntail (the only spot the hood allows) and the current is way too strong for him so I had to shut it off.

how can I reduce the outflow for him? It didn't have an adjustable setting and I tried putting pantyhose over it to slow it down but it wasnt helping much.

Any thoughts besides getting a new filter? Thanks.

  • would a male dwarf gourami kill my adf?

I am upgrading tanks and wanted to get a centerpiece fish for a 20 gallon tank to go with my neon tetras and my African dwarf frogs.

Would a male dwarf gourami blend with them well or would anyone get killed?

  • will ghost shrimp eat my molly fry?

One of my balloon mollies (in my avatar!) is going to have her fry soon and I was curious if my ghost shrimp will eat them if they aren't in a breeder. I already densely planted my tank so the strongest will survive and don't want a breeder

  • will my guppies and mollies interbreed?

I have 3 female balloon mollies and not thinking about it I got male guppies. Will they interbreed or will it be fine? I don't want them stressing out my mollies by basically being horn dogs to them.

  • platy just got a weird white mark on his tail?

I just bought two new Mickey mouse platies and after the first night both have weird white marks on their tails that weren't there the night before.

One is acting fine but the other o e has gotten a little more lethargic and slinks back into the back for er where I can't get a good look at his tail. It is more like a white dash than a spot, if that helps. It doesn't look like cauliflower or is filled with liquid. It kind of looks likes when mold grows on a piece of food.

Any help is appreciated. I really don't want a sick tank or to have to take back a dead fish...
