If my employer reimburses some of my business mileage, but not all of it, can I claim the remainder on my taxes?
My employer reimburses 0.46 per mile. The IRS standard is 0.535 per mile.
Sub-question to the main question - I travel to temporary sites 45 miles from my primary place of work. When I finish working at these sites, I typically return to my primary place of work to clock out before returning home. My employer refuses to pay for the miles returning home (essentially 100 miles per week). I feel that these miles should be reimbursed because they're not part of my typical commute, and I would not have driven them had I not been at the temporary site. If she doesn't reimburse those miles, can I claim them on my taxes when I do my deductions? Not the most tax savvy person, here.
6 AnswersUnited States4 years agoWould a single vending machine in a private machine be profitable/worth my time?
I'm a clinic director at a location servicing 20 children. There are 25 employees in the building, and they have a very limited amount of time for lunch: 30 minutes. In addition to the 25 employees, there is a waiting room for parents and siblings. On a given day, between 30-50 people frequent the building.
Do I need a license? What are some things I should know?
Not looking to become rich! But I would like to turn a profit that outweighs the time and effort.

Maurice Jones Drew @ STL
Cecil Shorts @ STL
Colston @ Chicago
Pick 2 and tell me why. :P
1 AnswerFantasy Sports8 years agoWho do I start at WR? Colston, Shorts, Decker, Thompkins?
Pick 2.
Leaning towards Colston and Shorts, but I don't like the Revis matchup. Keep in mind that I am a New Orleans native and Saints fan.
Also have Marlon Brown (vs Cleveland) and Vincent Brown (Phili).
Decker vs New York Giants
Colston vs Tampa Bay
Shorts vs Oakland
Thompkins vs New York Jets
Again, PICK 2.
3 AnswersFantasy Sports8 years agoWill someone publish my novel if a segment has been previously published?
If the question is a bit confusing let me shed some more light.
A small publishing company is in the process of releasing an anthology, featuring 10k words of a story that I wrote. The novel is going to be roughly 100k-200k words, and the company has a very small bit of it. In my contract with the company, they have exclusive rights to my work for 1 year.
Will this affect my chances of having the full work published one day? (Considering I retain my rights to the story after 1 year)

Is there a scientific term for that?
2 AnswersPhysics8 years agoCan I plant a picked flower?
For instance, if I were to go into my backyard and pick a flower or cut a flower, could I theoretically stick the stem in some mud, water it, and have it turn into a bush?
I'm writing a story where this person picks flowers every day at a park, then returns home and plants them in his backyard. Is that plausible? Is there a way to make this practical?

3 AnswersFantasy Sports9 years agoShould I trade away Aaron Hernandez for Miles Austin? for?
On my bench I have Brandon Myers at TE.
My WRs are already weak, Malcolm Floyd (SD), Steve Smith (CAR), and Mike Wallace. Is it worth losing Hernandez, who may break out with Gronk sidelined?
