  • Spammed by tagged.com, are you being spammed by register.com?

    A few weeks ago my email address, generally spam free, fell into the hands of tagged.com. They had harvested it from a friend's address book using their phishing spam that lures people to sites that can do that to some logged-in webmail. (Fortunately, Thunderbird email in linux was not vulnerable when I visited the site in the phishing spam.)

    Anyway, I have gotten a "special offer" from register.com, which never had my email address before. It may be no coincidence that tagged.com gets its registry from register.com.

    Has anyone else whose address got harvested by tagged.com gotten a "special offer" from register.com?

    BTW it's not a very good offer. Register.com charges about twice what Godaddy.com or Namecheap.com charges for registration.
