Rush hour traffic in Chicago?
I will be traveling from Madison to Indianapolis on a Friday morning. I need to make it to a hotel in Indianapolis by 3pm for a conference. I've googled the trip and the shortest distance is through Chicago. It looks like I will go reach the North Suburbs at about 9am. Will I avoid rush hour at this time?
4 AnswersChicago8 years agoTips for a new Graduate Teaching Assistant?
I just got offered a Teaching Assistant position at my university in an undergraduate engineering class. I don't yet know what my responsibilities will be, but I know there will be some instruction involved, but probably not leading a large lecture class. Potentially, I could be leading a small (20-30 people) discussion section, holding office hours to help with homework, grading, creating homework problems, other similar tasks.
I have always given informal academic help to others. Like helping out students a year younger than me. I also graded homework in high school (during senior year), and tutored some middle schoolers while I was in high school.
I'm looking for some general tips on dos/don'ts of being a TA. Any help is appreciated.
2 AnswersTeaching9 years agoWhat do you think about the Thorium fuel cycle for nuclear fission plants?
It seems like it would be more efficient, easier to obtain the materials, and less dangerous since it doesn't produce plutonium as a product of internal conversion.
