I am a teacher, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, spending time with my husband, and playing with our chocolate lab. I have lots of different interests, and enjoy doing anything fun.

  • What kind of motorcycle should I buy? I'm looking for a street bike, not a cruiser.?

I'm 5'5", and weigh about 115 lbs. I'm very new to riding want something that will be low enough for me to put both feet firmly on the ground. I've sat on many different bikes, but haven't found one that quite fits me yet. What options are out there for me, that I may not have seen yet. Thanks for any info!!

  • To sell or not to sell, that is the question...?

I own a 2003 Suzuki SV 650 s. I'm 5 foot 5, and weigh about 115 lbs. My bike has already been lowered 4", but I still have trouble getting both feet on the ground. I love the way my bike handles, looks, and sounds. But I've dropped it a couple of times in the driveway from not being able to get my feet to touch well. I am thinking about trading my bike in for a different one, but I don't want to loose any power, or handling. So, should I trade in/sell my bike, and if so, what other bike option should I pursue? Oh, and I still want a street style bike even though I love my v-twin.

  • How do you cut down a motorcycle seat? Should you do it yourself or take it to a shop?

I have a bike that's a few inches too tall for me. Should I try cutting down the seat? The suspension has already been lowered 4". Is this a job for my mechanic or should I try to do it myself (or have my husband try)? Or would it be better to trade it in for a smaller bike?

  • How much of a difference is there between the power of a ninja 250 & a Suzuki sv 650?

I am a new rider, and I have trouble touching the ground when I sit on my SV 650, even though it's lowered 4". I was thinking about trading it in for a Ninja 250, so I could touch the ground, and I thought this might be a better starter bike for me to learn on. I don't want to lose too much power though. I'm worried I wont like the Ninja since I've been riding a much bigger bike. So how much of a difference will it make, and is it worth changing to have my feet firmly on the ground?
