There are many theories about the inspiration for J.R.R Tolkien's Middle Earth books. Some have said the ring is metaphor for an A-bomb, while others think Attila the Hun or even Hitler could be the inspiration for Sauron. Is it possible that enough similarities between fact and fiction could be displayed to actually prove what inspired Tolkien, not just provide a theory?

I write articles for Yahoo on the Contributor network, and have made about $1.50. Recently, I got a message saying there was a problem with my Paypal account in regards to payments, and that they were working on it and would tell me when it was resolved. Since then, I haven't gotten another message.

As far as my account goes, I have it set up, and can log in, but they don't have my bank information yet. When I get some money, I thought I would finish the connection. Right now, I figure they don't need my bank information because I haven't got money in there yet. Am I doing something wrong?

I used to be able to understand system specs, but now this gibberish makes no sense to me. No wonder everyone is playing console games now.

I have a TV that's connected to cable with a round wire cable, and a PS3 that I want to connect to the internet. We have a bundle with internet in the back rooms, but I want to play games on the TV. The TV has an HDMI cable hooked up, and an ethernet cable, but it's not connecting. I'm I silly for thinking this can be done? The cable router can only handle the three colored wires, and the round cable, and my PS3 takes only an ethernet cable.

I've got this question I want to erase. I'm writing a Yahoo article that is similar to points I raised in my asking of the question, and don't want my article to seem redundant. Is there a way I can do it? I was making so many points that it wasn't really a proper question anyway.

I'm having a hard time googling this. I can find population figures of China, but not one of the whole world. I guess an estimation is the best you can hope for. A rough population of Europe and Asia would be fine.

Is Modern Warfare 3 good? Can I save the clips of my best games as in Black Ops? IS it better than Modern Warfare 2. I hope the knives aren't as ridiculous in this one as MW2.

I recently re-formatted my computer and now need some of my drivers. I went to Driver Detective and the price was 30 dollars. After deciding to eat the outrageous cost for a simple digital download, I downloaded Driver Detective. I then noticed that they changed my homepage and installed a bunch of stuff I didn't want I decided to not buy the product, and am now looking for an alternative. 5 stars to anyone who helps.

I have no Dash on my keyboard, which has mystified me for years. On my last computer this happened as well. From what I understand, Microsoft Word is supposed to take two hyphens with spaces on each side and turn it into a dash. I even understand that a single hyphen with spaces on each side might become a dash automatically too, but neither of these work on my computer.

All I can do is take a single hyphen and use it for a dash. Two hyphens for me looks like two hyphens with a little space. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I have the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy with the extended scenes, but I really don't feel like counting all the shots. Orlando also loosed several arrows in the film Troy. It's going to be quite a number, but I don't want to put in the work counting them - this is where you come in.

Americans have been conditioned to believe that the American right is more hawkish than the American left, and most of us have fallen for it. I remember when Bush was President, and rightly received a ****-ton of criticism; the left-wing pundits considered all the people who voted for him to be heartless war-junkies with a lust for blood. I'll admit though that the hatred by the left wing pundits of Bush voters became more intense after Bush was re-elected in 2004.

Still - I was wondering, since Obama was elected by a multi-cultural mixture of racial, religious and cultural fruity flavors, if everyone who voted for him is as equally hawkish as Obama himself obviously is to anyone who follows the extent of American military actions.

I know there is a booming market to sell articles online, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm most interested in articles that concern current events and history. Is there a particular website that is the best place to start? I'll give 5 stars if someone gives me a good lead.

I got my files corrupted and can't use my System Restore to fix everyone. I got my internet working, and managed to restart and repair my Word Processing documents, but some things still don't work. When I try to open System Restore, I get this nonsense rstrui.exe

What do I do to get it working again? Online fixes don't work because I can't install them, or I don't know how to install them manually.

If someone can help me, I will give 5 stars. I refuse to do anything that costs money.

I'm totally not a sue happy person, but I want to know if I can sue. Way back in 2000 I had a job at a temp service. I worked two days, and caught the flu. I could barely think straight or get out of bed. I called the factory to tell them I couldn't make it. My temp service called and told me they were ending our work relationship. I swore at the lady on the phone, but didn't say anything too nasty. I'm not that way.

11 years later, I'm trying to get a job and go in there where they are acting as if they got a client for me. The woman looks on the computer, and sees this incident 11 years before and tells me they can't do anything for me.

I was referred to this place by another Temp service because they were doing all the hiring at the moment. I'm lived in Vancouver Washington my whole life, and worked for most of that time. Meanwhile, gangsters and pimps drive around in nice cars while I work. Now I can't get a job because of someone in a cubicle who knows nothing about me judging me. I want to sue them if I can. I'm so sick of people who don't use drugs, steal or abuse people getting no respect and all the gangster scum having all the money.

Anyone knows more people were killed with clear intent in the 20th century than any other century when you consider the Communists and the Fascists combined with others, but the 20th century is also the century of skyrocketing population. For the individual concerned about human violence, what should be considered the most violent century when population is taken into account?

I considered the 19th century. Religious rebellions and the following crackdowns by the Qing dynasty in China may have killed 30 million people. This is worse than WW1. Europe had no shortage of wars, including most of the Napoleonic wars which killed millions. Aside from China, believe it or not the most violent place of the 19th century I believe was Africa. The rise of the Mahdists of the Sudan and the Zulu King Shaka severely depopulated their respective regions. The Zulus after Shaka were still so organized years later that the European psyche was shocked when the Zulus defeated a modern British army in 1879 at the battle of Isandlwana. The horrible Belgian atrocities in the Congo were also well under way by end of this century.

South and North America had the worst wars of their histories in the 19th century.

I realized all these considerations were defeated by one argument. The world had a much lower population in the 13th century than the 19th. The 13th century was also the great century of the Mongol conquests. The Mongol empire rose, conquered China and vast areas of Asia. India, Japan, Vietnam and Europe were all invaded by the Mongols in this one century. I've read that there were 10 million deaths in the conquest of China alone, but feel free to dispute this.

What are your thoughts on this? I think for sure the correct answer is the 13th century.

When I started playing Black Ops, I thought Sniping was terribly nerfed. Now I know that with the right map and game type, sniping can be the most powerful way to play a game. My best game is now from sniping. I got a 25 -3 on team deathmatch with a PSG1, and a 14-3 with the Bolt Action. I got another 18-1 with the PSG1 but I don't have a clip of it.

What's your best sniping game? I especially am interested in TDM scores, not Domination. My handle on the PS3 is Ray_Buckridge. You can see my 25-3 and my 14-3 on my fileshare.

I just downloaded the map pack for Black Ops. Me and my room mates are into Nazi Zombies. On Ascension, you start out and the map is in black and white. I know if you turn on the power, you get the colour, but by then the game is almost over.

Is it possible to use the Menu Console to permanently turn on the colour.

I'm playing Black Ops for the PS3 and want to take a screenshot from my fileshare and put it on my computer. How do I do this? When I was using an X-box and playing Halo 3, I used to be able to go onto Bungie.net and find the screenshot there.

I don't know if Treyarch will let you do this, or if there is even a way.
