Answer: When a bunch of yahoos are running Yahoo.

When I click on the links to get to the Yahoo Mail upgrade page and then click to upgrade, I'm simply re-directed to my Yahoo Mail home page. Therefore, I can only assume that, unbeknownst to me, I've already been upgraded, or I should say, downgraded.

The function to navigate emails by pages has been eliminated. Now, it's just one long list that takes a good while to scroll through. Scrolling through one's email list has been characterized by Yahoo's senior software engineer as being more "convenient" and "faster and easier." Poor Pakistani guy's cheek must have been grotesquely distorted by this tongue-in-cheek assertion.

It can also be seen that an advertisement bar has been superimposed on the email list, which is quite disconcerting. Yet, this is another one of the "improvements" added to the new Yahoo Mail.

If you want to be rid of "graphical" advertisements, you'll have to sign up for the fee-based subscription to Yahoo Mail Plus. Even then, you'll have to manually disable the display of advertisements. And I've noted that Yahoo uses the term "graphical" which by definition would not necessarily exclude "text" ads.

Also, it remains unknown, with absolutely no information forthcoming from Yahoo, whether Yahoo Mail Plus provides navigation by pages. Perhaps someone with Yahoo Mail Plus could enlighten other Yahoo Mail users about this issue.
