  • What is a good place or website to find current information about companies, commodities and business?

Ive started doing a bit of investing and was wondering where i could find some detailed information about companies and commodities(but mostly companies). I currently trade with TD Ameritrade so information regarding the quarterly profits of companies are available to me, as well as recommendations made by anaylsts such as S&P.

However, I cant find market share information on TD ameritrade, as well as value breakdowns of companies. As in this type of product makes up x % of this companies value, and they have an x% market share in that area.

  • How to teach myself to sing? ?

I really want to sing, but to be honest I'm pretty terrible at it. Like I can't even doing happy birthday. Is there a way to learn to sing? Like I know I could take lessons and stuff, but I'm not sure I will have the time.

Are there any strategies guides our tools I can use to teach myself to sing? Like is rock band and guitar hero with the mic a good way to learn?

I'm a 15 year old guy and I play the guitar and piano so I'm not totally musically inept.

  • ISO ripping software reccomendation? 10 points?

I recently found my two Age of Mythology disks which i lost years ago. I am dying to play it, as it was once my favorite game, but my laptop's dvd drive is broken. Ive tried taking an ISO rip of the disk's using my dad's desktop, as well as my friends desktop, but img burn doesnt seem to work. It simply starts doing it then stops working and retries 20 times.

Does anybody know any good software that can take a rip of these two disks, and i am willing to pay money for the software. If you cant reccomend any software, can you reccomend any other way to get these disks to work on my laptop. Maybe a way to fix broken dvd drives in laptops?

    Thank You

  • Port forwarding help? 10 points?

I have Verizon FioS service, so naturally , i have the router/modem they provided. We put it in the wiring closet downstairs(only place we could put it), and had the hardwire Cat 5 connections in the house connect to the router provided by verizon.

Since its wireless coverage couldnt reach throughout my entire house, we got another wireless router(a nice dual band netgear router), and placed it on the top floor. It connects to the internet via one of the cat5 jacks in the wall which has a wire running down to the verizon router in the basement.

Internet connectiosn work fine, but my problem is that it seems like the devices connected to the verizon router(AKA the hard wired ones or the wireless one in the basement) cannot communicate with the wireless devices connected to the netgear router?

So for example. I have tversity(a media server app) running on my PC which is physically connected to the verizon router. It shows up on any device connected to the verizon router, but not to anything connected to my netgear router, even though my netgear router is connected to my verizon router. Same thing with shared folders and files.

Would port forwarding be able to fix this? If so, how would i set up the port forwarding? My verizon router's ip is 192.168.1.1(i think) and the Netgear routers is 10.0.0.0(pretty sure atleast). So i assume that all nodes connected to the netgear router would have IP's of 10.0.0.x and same for the verizon one?

Can anyone tell me how to use port forwarding to get this to work? If u need more details please message me or something?

  • Help with Marticies Project? 10 points?

I am a little unclear on how to encode a message using matricies as per these directions:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/50742404@N05/46645193...

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/50742404@N05/46645191...

(ignore the letters written in pencil above each segment of the message in picture two. thats just my deam dividing work. I am the B)

I understand that i just convert each set of 4 charachters into numbers as per the given cipher, and put them into a 2x2 matrix. so the matrix for the part i need to encode, which is the_ would be:

    19(top left) 7(top right) 4(bottom left) 26(bottom right).

So i then multiply that matrix by the key matrix given in the example to get:

    109(top left) 154(top right) 72(bottom left) 106(bottom right)

But now what do I do? In the example, the final answer has numbers between 0-28(the numbers which have assigned values in the cipher). It has the final matrix and then next to it mod29.

  • Which of these two network design books would be better for me?

I will be competing in a National FBLA Network Design event this summer and I need to prepare. Which one of these books would you recommend to study for this event?

    http://www.amazon.com/Networking-Beginners-Guide-P...

    http://www.amazon.com/Networking-Bible-Barrie-Sosi...

First, we need to take a test that asks us questions about the basic concepts of networking. Then we are given a case study about a business with specific needs and we need to explain in 7 minutes how we would design the network, what parts we would use, why and how much it will cost.

    Any other suggestions?

  • What do processor specs mean? 10 points?

    What do these specs mean?

    Operating Frequency(GHz)

    Hyper Transports

    L2 Cache

    L3 Cache

    64 bit Support

    Hyper-Transport Support

    Virtualization Technology Support

Operating freqeuncy is the measure of raw processing power right? As in the number of operation it can perform in a second. A 1ghz cpu can perform 1 billion operations per second right?

    What are hyper transports?

What does each level of cache do? Is it where data is stored before being processed by CPU? If so, is data only stored there when there is too much data being given to the CPU for proccessing that it has to wait there, or is data always transfered into the cache. What is the difference between the different levels of Cache?

I understand that 64 bit architechture gives you 2^64 memory adresses rather than 2^32 increasing the amound of RAM that can be used. Are there any other advantages of 64 bit? And disadvantages?

    What is Virtualization Technology?

What is the difference between GFLOPS and GHz? What does each mean, and how does it affect performance? What other factors affect processor performance, other than raw GHz? I know that old pentium CPUs clocked at like 4 Ghz, but they suck compared to modern 2.1 GHz CPU's.

Also how can the PA semi CPU clocked at like 700 mhz used in the iPhone render 3D graphics better than the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU? Is it because the PA semi chip has a better onboard graphics controller?

Do all CPUs have an onboard graphics controller or just ones meant for crappy computers?

I know these are a lot of questions, but i would really appreciate it if you gave me a somewhat in depth explanation, suitable for a 9th grader, or atleast a link to a good site. Im not stupid, so please dont dumb it down too much.
