The names Maggie! I'm a 17 year old girl who absolutely loves life. I have two amazing horses. Zip's Gottin Attitude "Kit", and Lansing. Kit is a solid chesnut Appaloosa, and Lansing is a sorrel Thoroughbred. Kit is my western and english pleasure horse, and Lansing is my hunter/jumper and lower level dressage horse. Call me crazy, but I love my Hamster too(: I love hunt seat WAY better than wester. I jump mostly, but I work on the flat too. I tell it like I see it and if you dont like it, I'm ok with that. I love meeting new people so shoot me an email! I'm super nice and usually get along with anyone unless you're annoying(: Have a greaattt dayy(:

  • Golf Cart Decorating Ideas? HELP! asap!?

Ok, this sounds dumb, but I need ideas!

The campground I camp at has a 4th of july

golf cart parade every year, and this year its judged.

    I need something REALLY cool!

(it HAS to beat my friends train)

I can't paint it, so anything made out of cardboard, paper, etc is good.

It doesn't have to relate to the 4th either.

    Help! ASAP!

    Thanks in advance!

    (:

    (ps-must be child appropriate)

    Thanks(:

  • Jobs That Do With Aircrafts?

Ok, so I've considered the air force and becoming a pilot.

(there's a GREAT aviation school near me)

However, even I LOVE airplanes and other air crafts, I don't

think I have the guts to personally fly one; be the pilot.

What other jobs are there that deal in air crafts and aviation?

Please no criticism on this question.

I really want to do something in the field of aircrafts etc.

    They reeaalllyy interest me.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Thoroughood Saddle? Good? Bad?

Ok, so I'm getting rid of my work saddle.

    It's a 17.5 Intec(NOT Wintec) FlexRider close contact Saddle.

It's just a tad too big for me :( I love the saddle though.

Anyways, I posted an ad on craigslist for sale/trade and

some lady emailed me and said she had a black(what I want) 17

Thoroughood(spelling??) saddle with a matching bridle, breast collar,

leathers, and irons. Is this a good brand?? I have no experience with the brand.

    No rude comments please(:

    Thanks so much in advance!

  • Gah...new bridle..thanks Mom!?

Ok, so my show saddle is the HDR Oakbark color.

    (it's an HDR lol)

My mother, not realizing or remembering (it's been in it's

cover for a very long time, and I have a ton of saddles

so she didn't know it was the wrong one) bought me a new

bridle (the one I asked for) on black :\

It was on sale with a no return policy yada yada yada..

I was told about dyeing bridles? But...that doesn't

seem possible right? Black to oakbark?

Or is it possible? I'm confused. If anyone knows

anything about dyeing it or if it's even possible

please tell me. lol thanks so much!

  • I'm Such A Hippocrite...?

I've always said that I will come up with my own

horse's show name, but with my new gelding, I am

truely stumped. I always hate when people ask this question

on here, but I've been seeing some pretty good answers

lately and wondering what you guys would come up with for me.

He is a 16.2 hand TB gelding and sorrel, quiet as a mouse, and

an absolutely gorgeous hunter/jumper, and a super sweet guy.

    Soo..I need a h/j show name.

I will choose a best answer even if I don't like any of the names.

    Thanks!

PS- try to keep something like Lansing in there like Lance or the Lan part.

    Thanks everyone!!

  • Gray Hunt Coat at Hunter/Jumper Shows?

Ok, so my mom just got me this gorgeous gray

hunt coat for my birthday, but I'm not sure if I can use it?

I know some breed shows dont allow gray...will hunter/jumper shows

let me wear it? Or should I try to explain to her that I

can't use it. I know it was expensive...but I really want

to have what I can use....please help!

    Thanks.

  • If I Transfer Schools, Will My Grades Transfer Too?

I'm completely fed up with the school I'm at, the teachers

are awful and expect us to work out of a book with no

    explanation whatsoever. I'm seriously thinking

about changing schools RIGHT now, before my senior year

(so i don't start out my senior year at a new school not

knowing anyone, going now would help me meet people)

If I transfer will my grades start over or what? I've worked

really hard for the grades I have (basically teaching myself

from a book) or would they just start over?

I was just curious and googled it, but nothing showed up, so

    I thought I'd ask...any tips would help!

    Thanks everyone.

  • Is this a good idea...?

Ok, so I recently started working at this barn, and I've

known the people for years and my god parents have known

them even longer. I'm working their throughbreds through

hunt seat on the flat, dressage, and jumping.

Yesterday, they offered me a 15 yr old 16.2hand TB gelding. He's

in amazing shape, has always been stalled, and let out all day, and I can

keep him there for $150.00 a month as long as I keep

working there. They would give him to me for free as long

as I took good care of him and showed him and worked him

regularly. There will be a signed contract that he is mine, and

I can do whatever I want with him. He's trained in jumping and

dressage along with flat work (obviously; dressage)

He was trained in Michigan at Albion College for their equestrian team.

Would it be a good idea to accept him? He's 15 years old...is that bad?

Thanks guys...like I said, he's still in amazing shape, but I've

always bought my horses younger...would this be a good idea?

    No rude comments please(:

  • Physics Electricity Questions!?

    I'm sooo confused! Please help!

How much current flows through a lamp with a resistance of 60 Ohms when the voltage across the lamp is 12 V?

What is the resistance of an electric frying pan that draws a current of 12 A when connected to a 120 V circuit?

  • Would It Be Hard To......?

Re-train a horse to do reining?

He's an absolutely GORGEOUS 7 yr 15.3 old grulla gelding-mustangxqh

(i don't have pics of him, but he's identical to this one:

    http://www.wscahorses.com/drifter%203.jpg )

He has been trained in cutting, team roping, and running games.

He can also lope and jog like a champ, and he can neck rein, but

roll backs and sliding stops aren't his strong points...

How hard owuld it really be to train him to do these things?

I'm pretty much all english but my uncle trains reining horses and I wanted

to take him down to him and see what I could do with him.

(I'm looking at buying him as a western horse)

    Thanks!!

    please no rude answers...

  • My Horse Kinda Looks....Retarded..?

My western horse has a great headset and a great

pleasure jog, and I'm working on her lope now.

    The problem is..................her tail.

She holds it out from her "behind", and it

looks horrible! She really looks like

shes going "potty" the whole time i'm riding.

Shes an appaloosa, so I know its not a breed trait.

How can I keep her tail down and get it to stay down?

Anyone have any ideas? Please help!!

  • Good Jump Bridle Brands?

I really can't afford a brand new bridle considering I just

bought a new HDR jump saddle.

I've been looking at the sites of my local tack shops, and

on some sites. My first jump saddle was collegiate, and the

bridle was an unmarked brand, so I really have no

experience in buying saddles and bridles, and as I'm moving

up a circuit in jumping, I'd really like a nicer brand.

Any ideas or sites that I could look at and what brands to look for?

Preferably one that I could search for my area, not order it.

    I've used:

    equinenow.com

    tacktrader.com

    horsetopia.com

    equinehits.com

    craigslist.com

    Thanks!

  • Lope Question for My Western Horse...?

    So....

For the past 2 years (since I bought her) my western horse

will NOT lope. I've tried everything. She's finished up until that point.

She will pleasure jog aallll day, but when I ask her to canter, it's like

flying. She keeps a nice headset the whole time, but will not slow down.

I've tried small circles, big circles, patterns, different bits, different saddles,

draw reins (those obviously didn't work, but I had to try...) I've even tried round

pens (which I hate). I dont have any decent western pleasure trainers around

in my area, and I can't really afford to travel all that far...so I've trained her myself.

Can anyone help? Any other ideas? It's becoming reeaallyyy frustrating, I mean..

it's been going on for 2 years, and each year, I just keep thinking, if I work a little

harder this year, maybe it'll happen....buuutttt it doesnt.

Please help? Please don't leave rude answers...I'm really serious about needing help.

    Thanks!

    :)

  • Experienced Answers Please? (:?

OK, hopefully this is my last saddle question. I like this one. (:

Anyways, after trying out that Crosby from usedsaddles.com

I immediately sent it back, and someone reminded

me of tacktrader.com so I went there and found this.

    Is it a good buy?

Also, I mainly jump, this saddle is good for that right?

I do flat work sometimes too...is it ok for that?

I'm not inexperienced in horses...just saddles. My first

one was like handed to me and was a Collegiate so I dont know alot...

I might go see it this weekend or this week.

**these are the pictures she sent (among others, but these show it best) and

the ad. Thanks guys! You've really helped me!

  • I need used tack sites...AGAIN :\?

I did the "try before you buy" on a Crosby saddle

on usedsaddles.com and I was NOT impressed.

Anyone have any used tack sites where I can search

for stuff in MY area? So I can see it first?

    NOT Ebay. Or:

    -horsetopia.com

    -equinenow.com

    -equinehits.com

    -craigslist.com

or, if your from Michigan, and you have

a used hunt saddle (jump) you have for

    sale 500-600 lemme know!

    thanks again!

  • Anyone know anything about "Derby Originals", "Paris Tack", or "Lovat and Ricketts"?

I'm looking for a nicer excercise saddle that I could

possibly use at the lower level shows too.

Does anyone know anything about those brands?

Here are the links to the ones I was looking at...

The Derby Originals doesnt have an ad with pictures. I had to ask.

  • Can I Show in a Wintec Saddle at Hunter/Jumper Shows?

I found one of the "not-so-ugly" Wintec saddles, and I LOVED the feel of it when I tried it out.

If I purchased it, can I show in it at hunter/jumper shows and on the flat?

Please no rude answers, its a simple question :)

    Thanks!
