  • HELP! Is it better to get less than a 2.0 on my college transcript, or a W grade?

There have been some circumstances beyond my control that have caused me to fall majorly behind in one of my classes this quarter. I'm currently a financial aid student, and I receive federal loans each quarter. The way I see it, I'm probably going to lose my aid anyway, whether I withdraw from the course or get less than a 2.0.

I am currently a couple quarters away from graduating. I've already been accepted into a university as a transfer student, and have confirmed my intent to enroll. The worst that would happen to my track to graduate would be that I'd have to take an extra 5 credits in my last quarter (because my last quarter will only need one class to graduate).

In order to get a 2.0 in this class, I must receive 100% on a presentation, 100% on the final exam, and 100% on a 10 page research paper. Unfortunately, I cannot receive more than a 2.0 because of my absences and my instructor doesn't allow make-up work or exams so half of my homework can't be turned in.

I feel like giving up, but I don't want to look bad by getting an A in my other two classes, and less than a C- in this one. What makes this class different from the others is that this class is solely on campus, the other two are either online or my work is being completed mostly off-campus and I meet with my instructor and/or keep in contact through email. It's easier to keep up with online classes because I don't have to be on campus to receive points, and like I said, there have been circumstances that got in the way of my attendance.

If I withdraw from the course, I'll get a W grade, and I already have three of those on my transcript. So would it look worse to tack on another W, or bring down my GPA by "failing" a class?

I'm so confused and lost. Please help me :(

  • Promised a promotion, and now the position is being given to someone else!!!?

So, my boss promised me a promotion after I got back from my vacation. Something about how valuable and experienced I am? Well I've been given extra responsibility here and there, and people from management have talked to me about this said promotion, and seemed really excited to have me join them.

Well now, someone who has 4 years less experience, someone who is 4 years younger, someone who is ON DRUGS!!!! is getting "MY" promotion. They're all of a sudden getting extremely special treatment, and they've been doing management work. Next week, the hours that they're being scheduled are shifts that only a manager would work - they're being officially trained!!!

You guys, I'm really upset about this. I work so hard, and especially after the promotion was promised to me, I really made sure to push myself beyond what was expected of me. I really am a valuable employee, and because I've been there for over 5 years, I have knowledge and experience that other people don't.

My boss is treating me weird, and isn't being so nice to me. So I feel weird asking them why the plan has changed. So Now I feel that if my boss doesn't have the nerve to talk to me about them changing their mind about something this major, then I probably shouldn't even waste my time working there anymore.

Am I being irrational? What should I do, you guys?

  • What was the best AND worst thing to happen to you in the past 2 years?

    Best: I got married

Worst: I got totally screwed over at the used car lot, and now I'm stuck over-paying for a car that I only kinda like. Well, I liked it for $4000, but not $8000 lol.

  • Flaky boss not following through with promotion....?

My boss offered me a promotion 3 weeks ago, and gave me a weekend to think about it. They told me that I'm very thorough, that I never do anything half-a$$ed, that I have excellent customer service, and that I'm ready for more responsibilities. I completely agree. After thinking about it all weekend, I accepted the offer. I haven't heard anything about it since! I'm really confused, because they seemed really excited about moving me up. I'm 21, and I've been at my job for 5 years, I'm NEVER late, and my co-workers do indeed see me as a leader, and seem to have respect for me, which I reciprocate. I like my job, but my boss seems really flakey with such an important decision. I never really have the time to ask them about the situation, because there are always people around, and I don't feel comfortable talking about a promotion with my co-workers until it has been made official. How long should I wait around for this to happen? It's been nearly a month now! What do you think I should do, and what do you think is going on with my boss??

  • Morning sickness - does it have to be with just food?

We've been trying...so me being pregnant is a definite possiblility. But I haven't been nauseous, other than throwing up twice a couple mornings ago. I've just been a bottomless trap. But I watch the news in the morning, and my breakfast doesn't make me feel queasy - but today Susan Boyle was on, and I seriously wanted to throw up. I felt like I was going to. I couldn't even look at the TV. And today, a song came on the radio while I was driving to work, and I just couldn't stand it and wanted to puke, and I even gagged a little. Like, it's really weird. And I'm completely serious. Could this be a weird form or morning sickness? Or does it just have to involve edible things? If you can help me out, please do. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  • Cheap, Vegetarian Meal Ideas, Anyone?

My husband and I are vegetarians on a budget!!! I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow, and I'd like to buy something else other than Pasta Roni for once. We both love pasta, rice, beans, soups, and salads....not only that, but we both enjoy cooking together, and are wanting to prepare more meals ourselves, rather than something that comes out of a box.

If anyone can help me...I'm really looking for a few recipes that don't have meat in them, but are easy to make on hectic nights, and have a low cost per serving! Also, I'm really curious about trying lentils...so if anyone has a recipe for something with lentils, that woudl be amazing!! Thank you in advance!! :)

  • Should a married woman tell her protective husband the full story about sexual harassment?

There's this guy that I work with, and he's really starting to creep me out. Well, we were friends at first, and then he started getting more bold and flicking his tongue at me (referring to cunnilingus), "threatening" me to "behave" or he'd whip me with his belt (and he'd grab his belt and undo the buckle), and I figured it was all just a joke, since I'm a very sarcastic person, and sometimes I joke around and flirt (like, "Oh, you know you want me"...but EVERYONE plays along with it...). But I don't know what I've done to actually make him think that I'm into his behaviour. I've spent a couple months laughing it off, but I started to get really suspicious when this guy sent me a text message saying "Your man's middle initial is R, isn't it?" HE WAS SEARCHING US ONLINE TRYING TO FIND OUR ADDRESS!! Later that night, he sent me more text messages tellling me that he was good at f*cking, and told me all the places that he could "take me" while we were at work. The next day at work, he just walked up behind me, grabbed and held my a$$, and walked away saying "ohhh, you like that, don't you?" I never asked for it, and I really don't think that I truly gave him the idea that I wanted it.

Anyway, my question is...my husband knows that this guy is really weird, and how he talks to me, but he doesn't know that he grabbed me. I feel so dirty about this whole thing, I can barely work with him anymore. My hubby already has a lot of animosity toward my co-worker, without knowing about the grabbing, and the reason why I haven't told him about it is to prevent him from going to jail, because he's extremely protective of me, and I know for sure he would track him down and seriously hurt him. I feel like I'm lying about this, and I can't stand keeping secrets from my husband, but is this something that should be an exception???? What do you guys think??

And sorry about it being so long :\

  • Am I using the treadmill correctly? Any tips for me (Read for details)?

I'd like to know if I'm doing this right. I started going to the gym last March 11th, and I've gone 3 times; Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The first day I did 20 minutes at a 0% grade, and I was at a 3.0-3.8 MPH, fluctuating the speed every so often. On Friday, I stayed on for an entire hour, fluctuating the grade from 0.5-2.5%, and the MPH from 3.0-4.0, but it said that my average speed was 3.6 MPH. On Saturday, I stayed on for 45 minutes, and fluctuated my grade from 2.0-4.0%, and my speed from 3.5-3.9 MPH.

I've been making sure that my heart rate goes no higher than 180 beats per minute or so, so is that a good thing to do??

I'm thinking that before I get too happy with any other machines, that mabne I should build up my fitness by using the treadmill, and I have heard that fluctuating the intensity does just that. Am I understanding correctly?

I'm really wanting to get as much as I can out of the treadmill, and I need to know if I'm doing this just fine, or if there's anything else I should be doing as well.

As you can tell, I am a beginner with the gym, and if there's any tips you could give me to prevent injury and stay motivated, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!!! :)

  • Is a hypochondriac still a hypochondriac if...?

They know that they're a hypochondriac?

I show a lot of symptoms, and I always have, even as a little kid. Even my co-workers talk about me behind my back because I have this weird twinge that comes and goes, and I told them that I researched the pain and it comes from my spleen. Now they always laugh and ask how my spleen is. Not only that, but I remember that as a kid, I used to tell my mom that I thought I had whooping cough whenever I caught a cold.

This is seriously, honest to God, what I believe is wrong with me, or what makes me so unhealthy: Skin cancer. Infertility. Pinched nerves all over my shoulders. An enlarged spleen. Brain tumor that stems down the back of my neck. Tons of stomache aches. Parasites.

I'm obsessed with WebMd.com, and once I go there, I'm unable to leave. Nobody cares when I don't feel well, or if I get sick.

So. If everyone else thinks that I'm a hypochondriac, and I know that it could be true, and because of that, I am convinced that I am, does that mean that I have an answer, or another ailment to worry about?
