Is it okay to have a bridal shower the day before my wedding?
If I have a "friends only (read: lingerie)" bridal shower a month or two before my wedding, there will be only a few people who can attend. We're in Texas and we live over three hours from most friends and family, with lots of friends in Minnesota. Also, I'm a Comp Sci major who works at a tech company and as a result have a lot of guy friends, who obviously are not invited. I'd like to have a shower the day before so that everyone who's already in town can attend. My fiance thinks it's a bit much to ask people to give a shower gift and a wedding gift in the same weekend. I think it's fine. They're all close friends. And I want some cute lingerie gosh darnit! Should I just stick with the shower my mom's Sunday-school class is throwing me?
8 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoShould I re-size my ring (again)?
I recently got engaged, and received the first ring I've ever owned. Jewelers told me for a few years (for consistency's sake) that my ring finger was a size 3.25 (3 1/4). The ring's setting isn't a closed circle, so when I got it, it was a little big. They contemplated taking it from a 3 1/4 to a 2 3/4 but went the conservative route and sized it down to a 3. It's recently gotten colder and the ring just spins around on my finger. It doesn't feel like it's going to fall off (over my knuckle) but it's pretty annoying.
I've looked at ring sizers, but they're huge and used to size a ring an entire size. How much variance is there between finger size from a mild winter to a scorching summer? Would I regret asking them to size it to 2 3/4?
8 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoCap off a steel or aluminum gas pipe?
I've read a question/answer about capping off a pipe that was copper (or black) - but ours is a silver color. Does it make a difference in how we go about it? Or is there just a different kind of cap we should buy?
