  • Can the U.K. have the same relationship with the E.U. as Norway?

Norway seems to have a sort of associate membership with the E.U. which to me is a far more satisfactory arrangement than than the present.

  • Why are the Democrats tearing themselves apart?

I'm not an American nor do I live in the States, but I can't understand why the Republicans have sorted their White House candidate out while the Democrats are still fighting amongst themselves.

There is talk of the Olympic torch relay being scrapped. Good. Now, can the entire costly show business charade be scrapped?

  • Isn't it about time?

After being let off time after time Doherty has finally been gaoled, albeit for only a short time. Anyone else would have been locked up long ago following his behaviour. Are the Courts finally coming to the conclusion that celebrities should be treated the same as everyone else?

  • Any suggestions?

I have a small front garden mostly covered in shade. There is a large tree in this and the roots have pushed the soil up around it by a foot. It's surrounded by bare soil and moss. I put some roses around the perimeter but they are sickly because the tree takes so much out of the soil. My wife will not have it cut down partly because of the cost but mostly because I bought it as a sappling for her birthday many years ago. The garden is an eye-sore. It devalues the property apart from anything else. Where somebody delivering to the house would walk around my neighbours garden, they walk across mine. What's the answer? All helpful replies would be appreciated.

  • Why are there suddenly so many walking sticks?

Since the U.K. Government said there was going to be a crack-down on incapacity benefit claims, I've never seen so many "walking wounded". Observing these specimens closely, I note that most are over-weight. That might be because they are genuinely disabled and can't manage excercise or, in most cases they are slobs anyway. I notice that many can waddle to the bar quickly enough when necessary. Many even leave their stick at the table in order to use both hands to carry the drinks back. As a 75 year old, having worked 50 years of my life to earn two pensions on which I have to pay tax to keep these slobs, I do feel resentful. I also pay monthly to attend a gym three times a week.

  • How is Council Tax rebate ( England and Wales ) calculated?

I asked about it and wasn't asked about my income. I have my youngest son living with me as the only other occupant of the premises and said that he was in receipt of Disability Living Allowance. I was asked if there were any modifications to the house and there are not. My son's condition is neurological, not physical. I am a pensioner. I thought that the assessment was based on income, not incapacity.

  • Don't the over 75s matter?

This load of buffoons running the country are setting up a health check for the 40s to the 74s age group. I, and many others are 75 and over. Of course, if we are omitted from this check there's always the chance that we will die sooner. With the pittance increase in the State pension, an official inflation rate which has little to do with reality and the considerable increase in the cost of living over the past 12 months, I'm convinced the Government wants us dead. that would be sooo convenient for them. They would then have more money to spend in New Labour held constituences and other pet indulgences.

  • M I angry? 3.?

Another load of patronising rubbish. "Crime has dropped by 12%." Does anyone, apart from politicians, believe this? One of my sons suffered an unprovoked attack (he was set upon upon from behind, his younger brother was with him and confirmed this) but because he couldn't describe his attackers, he withdrew the complaint. This also happens with burgleries. Unless it's necessary to report a theft in order to claim on insurance, people just don't bother. They know the police are too busy making up statistics to bother with real crime.

  • Am I angry?

I have just read a load of patronising rubbish accompanying my Council Tax demand. If I was to comment on pages 2 and 3, I'd be accused of racism which I'm definately not. But the one obligatory white child is being asked if he needs any help. I've commented. Next, on his way to work, Chris drops off some of his rubbish at a local recycling plant , in a bubble "it's good to know I'm doing a bit for the environment". I want to put my finger down my throat. There's more to come.

  • Hello people. Leonard has been drinking again. I hope to upset you.?

The question is, should I let off steam on these pages? The problem is, I loathe the British Government. I loathe the European Union. I loathe the media pandering to the celebrities. Illiterate footballers, singers, some advertising coke. Every thing down market. They have a lot of class, all of it low.

  • How much flour is required?

The recipe calls for 180 grams of pastry. Nowhere can I find how much flour is needed to make that amount of pastry. By the way, I suffer from coeliac condition and it's very important that I use gluten free flour, if this makes any difference to the amount of flour.

  • Are you all aware?

Are all you nice people living along the coast of British Columbia and Washington and Oregon happy about living near a massive fault line situated not many miles underwater off the coast? It last caused havoc about 300 years ago and some say it is due to go again. This is not be confused with the earthquake that caused the destruction of San Francisco in 1906. Just trying to cheer you up.

  • Has New Labour brought politics to a new low?

They lie, they brush off difficult questions with fatuous remarks they are inward looking, seeing first to themselves. They are arrogant in the extreme. Certainly, some of the Cabinet members appear rather stupid.

  • How do I make a Lexmark printer take a refill cartridge?

The printer takes two cartridges, one photo and one normal. It is the normal cartridge that is the refill.

The refill cartridge is currently in the printer but whenever I try to print anything it always tries to use the photo cartidge which is empty. I cannot make it use the normal refill cartdidge. I can't find any settings to allow me to swap between the two cartridges.

  • Can politicians sink any lower?

When I posted a reply to a question by a 16 year old girl who wants to go into politics, I thought I was I was replying to a Canadian. Neverthe less, looking at all the cynical answers (including my own) it just shows how low politicians have sunk in the eyes of the people, whether in the U.S.A, or U.K. where I live.
