  • How do you step down 240V to 120V?

    I installed wood heat in my home and now would like to remove the old baseboard heaters. When I remove them I'd like to replace them with outlets for more plugs, but the baseboard wiring is 240V, and an outlet is supposed to be 120V... is there a way I can do this without rewiring those circuits completely? Can I use transformers, and if so, where would I buy something like that? The transformers I've found online all seem to be for European plugs to convert to American plugs.
