I am a truck driver by trade. I drive for hours across the U.S. and Canada and have time to think about the universe. No college level education here, but always curious. Gravity has been my primary area of thought along with Bell's Theorem and the formation of this planet.
What becomes of the atoms that have been stripped of electrons by electric generators?
Electric generators must be destroying the world. Are these stripped atoms regaining their electrons somehow or are they just floating around empty or turning into some sort of "waste" atoms? Could there be an easier way to strip atoms of electrons than mechanical means?
4 AnswersPhysics9 years agoIn Michigan, why do traffic light turn lanes have flashing red and green arrows?
I don't understand these flashing lights, there are no FLASHING turn lane lights in any other states I've ever driven in.

3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoIf a pulsar is a million light years away, why do we, on earth, receive a crisp, single "pulse" sound?
Shouldn't the pulses be a "buzz" or static sound since the source of the pulse is spinning so damn fast that it would be "fanning out" across the universe?
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoWhat does a retro-rocket push against if space is a vacuum?
A retro-rocket must have SOMETHING to react against. The vacuum of space is not something to react against. There must be a force but there is just an empty vacuum. You have the spacecraft as one side of the equation, it has the retro-rocket pushing. It turns the spacecraft. Example: a boat prop spinning in the air doesn't move a boat, but will move the boat in water because there are enough molecules and mass in the water for the prop to push against. THERE SEEMS TO BE NOTHING IN SPACE FOR A RETRO-ROCKET TO BE PUSHING AGAINST. Space is a vacuum. Any ideas?
