  • Should I leave him or wait for him to change?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 10 months. Mind you, we are still pretty young (I'm 18, he is 21), but we were very good friends before we decided to take it a step further. We come from two different worlds; my family is somewhat hoity-toity upper middle class whereas his family are the kind of people that live paycheck to paycheck. I'm in college and he is not, and he is more focused on a job than school (despite the fact that I keep telling him he could go for next to nothing because of his financial situation and his being a first-generation college student). Now I'm the kind of person that likes to plan ahead so my future can continue to be bright, and he is the kind of person that is only looking to fix short-term issues. We are very compatible, but some of his opinions and goals just don't match mine, and some of the things he says just hit me as extremely ignorant, which may be because of the way he was raised or just how his family is for that matter.

He's very sweet and kind to me, but he has a dark side where things can get ugly. Its just the fact that whenever he sees someone with a nice car, he assumes they sell drugs or do something illegal. It pisses me off that he is always under the assumption that making a honest living is impossible. Its just the fact that he is overweight and lays around all day playing video games instead of maybe cleaning his room or exercising. I try to tell him he needs to exercise for his health (high BP runs in his family) but it seems like he just doesn't listen. He wants to buy an old car, which doesn't make sense to me because why would you want to buy someone else's problem? He doesn't want to go to school, but wants to make a lot of money (and one of my coworkers could help him out with that because her husband is a police officer at the Capitol, but my lazy bf doesn't want to get in shape). He is very slow to motivation, and I have enough issues as it is in my family and personal life where I don't need to have this heavy weight on my shoulders.

I don't want a man that needs to be carried everywhere. I love him to death and I know you can't change a man, but I don't want to be waiting for the rest of my life for him to grow up (he's a momma's boy too!) while I'm out living life. I have goals, aspirations, dreams. Besides becoming a nurse, I want to help manage a hospital one day. Maybe join the military. Have kids and a nice house with a white picket fence. Make enough money to live comfortably and without debt. We are just not on the same page. I don't want to leave him because the past few relationships I've been in were bad for me, emotionally and I would be breaking his heart and losing one of my best friends. What should I do?

  • Best shavers for men?

I'm looking to buy my boyfriend a shaver for Christmas. I'm tired of seeing his unruly beard. I'm trying to do some research on the Internet, and I've found that the best brands are Braun, Phillips Norelco and Panasonic. I would like your recommendation on which you think is the best in terms of the least irritating (and I do plan to buy him some kind of moisturizer for after shaving), the easiest to clean and the best for sensitive skin!

  • Should I fully enlist into the military or become a reserve?

I have just graduated high school and have been considering the military for quite some time. However, I will probably enlist after I earn my bachelor's degree and become a nurse for the Air Force. I need some insight however on joining the Air Force or joining the Air Force Reserves. My problem is that I want to see the world and all, but I want to stay closer to my family if I am working for the Air Force. There is a base near my home, but I've heard that when you join the Air Force, you are more than likely going to be shipped off somewhere for months at a time. I want the full benefits but I don't know if I can handle being apart from my folks. I've got plenty of time to think about this, I just need some outside advice, preferably from those in the military.

  • Restoring paint on older car?

My mom has passed down her 2000 Honda Accord to me and it has held up pretty nice. I've been driving this car since I learned how to drive and plan on driving it through college (and pretty much into the ground). Nothing is really wrong with it, but I would like to restore the original paint just to give it a nice shine and up the value in case I want to sell it one day. I'm not into the DIY stuff when it comes to my car, but I would like to be able to estimate how much something like this might cost me so that I can save up accordingly.

  • Tips to tone up?

Well, I'm about 5'8" 150 pounds. My doctor says I'm overweight, but I've checked out my BMI and everything and I know I'm a healthy girl. I have noticed that my metabolism has gotten faster as I've gotten older. I tend to eat more, but I don't gain any weight. I rarely exercise. I'm probably in bad shape. My mom has me taking vitamins because my eating habits are all over the place, but she's getting stricter about that too. So since I have these eating habits and vitamins under control, I feel that I want to get fit and toned. I really want to tone my arms, legs, abs and butt. I would really like to have all this done by my 16th birthday, in late September. Does anybody tips or exercise rituals or routines to suggest to get me looking good?

  • Best car for a 16 year old?

I'm getting my learner's permit in a month, and I will turn 16 in September. 3 months later, I will be able to drive my own car. I could always take a family member's car, but I've been thinking about asking my family to come together and buy me a new car for Christmas since I'm getting my license the day after Christmas. Any suggestions? I'm looking for something fuel-efficient (of course) safe, and inexpensive. And of course something that looks good. Should I also looked into buying a used car?

  • Aspiring Psychologist?

I am currently a high school sophmore and still have a lot of thinking to do about a career and a major. I have recently been researching psychology majors and I have found that I am most interested in clinical psychology. I believe that branch of psychology can lead to a career of having a private practice, which is also what I would like to pursue. Does anyone have any advice on the courses I should take in college, along with a major (general psych or a specified branch of psych)? By the way, I am planning to take AP Psychology next year in 11th grade.

  • to dye or not to dye?

i am an african american female with dark brown hair. i've been wanting a change in my look. i decided that i wanted to either cut my hair or dye my hair. so i chose to dye. my hair is permed, but i would like to go for a honey blonde color. my hair is very long (down my back) and my mother has already warned me of the damage that may occur. basically, if my hair begins to break off because of the color, i will most likely cut it. does anyone have any other opinions or tips i should know before i make my final decision?
