would this diet be okay for my dog?
My mother's Yorkie is getting rather old and has been having some odd skin and digestive problems. A couple months ago we took him to the vet because he was experiencing constant diarrhea with a small amount of blood. The vet couldn't diagnose a specific problem, but told us to feed him only chicken and white rice. For whatever reason, my mom stopped and started giving him kibble again. Now he's experiencing the same problems, just less severe. He also licks his paws to the point of there being the occasional sore. I know this is a common symptom of allergies, so I have taken it upon myself to try and keep him on a strict diet to see if it will help. As of recently I have been giving him cooked rice with sweet potato. From what I can tell, his back end looks okay, but so far no change in the paws. He's only been on this diet for a few days. I'm concerned that he will be lacking nutrients. Would it be okay to give him some turkey with his sweet potato and rice? Possibly some avocado?
Your answers would be much appreciated.

I'm going to try a recipe to make my own moisturizer. You mix honey, coconut oil and lemon juice. Would it be okay to sleep with this on?
4 AnswersOther - Skin & Body9 years agousing regular nipples with thick formula?
I'm going to start adding a small amount of rice cereal to my baby's bottles to help with his reflux. Has anyone used a pin or needle to adjust the opening of their bottle nipples to accommodate a thicker formula? Or do I have to try maybe a faster flow nipple?
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoEnfamil Nutramigen for reflux?
My son is 7 weeks old ans has reflux. It's hard to tell how severe the situation is because sometimes he spits up a ton during the day and cries afterwards and sometimes he spits up and seems completely fine. I noticed his silent reflux also and I think it causes him to cough. When he spits up its like water and it worries me. He drinks Enfamil Gentlease and when it comes to gas he has no problems. Do you think we should try Nutramigen?? I ask because its so expensive and I hate to switch formulas on him. I've heard that it can do wonder for reflux though ... any advice?
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoquestion about baby bjorn?
can a 6 week old be put in a forward facing position in one of these carriers? I have a similar carrier and it says that the baby should have full head control before trying the forward facing position so I was wondering if baby bjorn is the same?
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoquestion for moms who own Moby Wrap!?
I'm looking into buying a moby wrap for my 6 week old son. He loves to walk around the house with me and look around. He has pretty good head control, but naturally he can't support himself yet. I know that he is too young for the front facing hold, but do you think we could try the kangaroo hold?
8 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agopumping more than nursing?
My baby boy is just over three weeks old and I've been breast feeding from day one. My son has a goofy latch and my nipples have really taken a tole. I've been pumping to store up for a vacation we're taking in less than a month and every once and a while I give him a bottle. I can honestly say that I am way happier giving him a bottle of breast milk versus my actual breast. Is there a way that I can mostly pump (only nurse him a few times during the day) and still keep my supply up? Hearing from anyone who has experience with this would be great. Thanks!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoquestion about using tommee tippee bottles?
I just bought some Tommee Tippee bottles for my son and someone on a review said to make sure and squeeze the anti colic valve with every use to ensure no nipple collapse. So do I just take two fingers and squeeze it once? There aren't any instructions so I'm just making sure I know what I'm doing. Thanks!
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby9 years agoHow soon can I give my breastfed baby a bottle?
Hello. I'm a first time mom and my son is due in less than three weeks. I really want to breastfeed, but I would also like if my husband could take over a night feeding for me so that the transition of having a nursing newborn is not so difficult. If I have an adequate supply and am able to pump enough for one bottle a night, how soon could I start introducing my son to the bottle? I've heard to avoid bottles for the first 6 weeks, but have also heard great success stories from women who tries incorporating a single bottle a day.
Also, if my son takes to the Dr. Browns bottles that I have purchased, do you think that using a preemie nipple would be a better choice over a level one nipple? The preemie nipples offer a slower flow and I was wondering if perhaps that would encourage him to still take the breast.
Thank you so much for your input.
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agoAir fresheners for baby's room?
Hello there. I'm due with my first baby on November 8th and I was wondering how everyone keeps their nurseries smelling fresh? I know that it isn't appropriate to use air fresheners or scented candles in a nursery because babies are so sensitive so I have no intentions of buying any Glade or Febreeze products. I would really like it though if I could have a nice scent in his room versus the smell of dirty diapers to come :) I do have a diaper genie by the way. Thanks much for your advice!

I'm due on November 8th and from what I remember my last period started on January 27th. It could have been a couple days earlier than that, but I'm not sure. Thanks so much!

1 AnswerPDAs & Handhelds10 years agowhat kind of Android tablet do i have?
Hello! My husband just bought me an Android tablet off of craigslist for my birthday and i dont actually know what its title is. It drives me crazy that i dont know. Its black with a 7 inch screen, runs on Android 2.3 gingerbread, has a front facing camera with flash and is a little bit thicker than the samsung galaxy tab. It came in a blue box that has Mini Pad printed on it with the little green droid guy and then it says Android In Me. Thats it. Im not sure what the heck thats supposed to mean. Also, the screen responds more to pressure than heat. The previous owner lost the manual otherwise i would just read that. Any guesses as to what i have? Or any advice as to how i can find out? Thanks!

Does anyone know whether it is more expensive to own a nook color and to purchase nookbooks or to own a kindle and buy e-books? I'm trying to decide which I would like to have more and this plays a large part in my decision.
Other - Electronics10 years agohow do you know whether you are carrying high or low?
hi there! I am going on 27 weeks pregnant with my first baby and was just wondering how I could tell whether he is carrying high or low. Most of the time I can feel him kick me in the sides, just above my belly button and below my belly button. There have been many times where he kicks me so low that I can literally feel the pain in my vaginal area. It causes me to bend over when he does that because it's alarmingly painful! lol. Only a couple of times have I felt him kick by my ribs and its always a surprise because I'm not used to him being up there. I know that in this last trimester he's only going to get bigger, but based on what I'm feeling could I tell if he's low or not? thanks much!
3 AnswersPregnancy10 years agopregnant ladies and mommas, is this a common occurance?
I went to my 20 week ultrasound the other day and my ultrasound tech let me know that my placenta is resting on my cervix. She said that this is pretty common and not necessarily a bad thing, but we will have to keep an eye on it to make sure that as the placenta and baby grow larger it moves out of the way. I will have to have a c section if the placenta does not move and that isn't something I am too thrilled about. Has this happened to you or to someone you know? Just looking to see if it is pretty common for pregnant women. Thanks!
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoswitching out my chinchillas water bottle?
My two chinchillas have had the same water bottle for over two years and it was due time for a new one. Petsmart didn't have my original style so I bought one that ended up having a different drink tip its designed without a little ball so that their tongues won't get stuck. I'm not entirely sure if they understand how to work it. Should I worry or assume that it will work for them?

I am 16 weeks pregnant and my doctor has asked me if I'm feeling anything yet. I just had my hand on my bump and all of the sudden I felt this little flick. Like someone inside purposely tried flicking my finger. It was so weird and it happened twice. I wouldn't have been able to feel it had my hand not been there. What do you think?
8 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoI need good baby boy names!?
My husband and I are having our first child this November and though we do not yet know the sex of the baby, we are really struggling with boy names. We wanted to go with Samson Thomas Hansen, but without the middle name present it sounds rather comical. Samson Hansen. lol. I'm not sure if I like it for this exact reason. We seriously can't agree on anything else though. I'd appreciate any help you have to offer! thanks!
