2 AnswersRamadan1 decade agowhat product to use to finish a hole in skirting board?
I have just had three power sockets moved from the skirting board to further up the wall. The electrician filled the majority of the hole in the skirting with plaster. What product can I use or how can I get to a finish so it looks like there was never any hole in the skirting at all?
Thanks
PS I am based in the UK
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWall lights need replacing?
we have some old lights already on 2 walls, both have a flick switch on the fitting itself to turn them on an off.
Will I be restricted to this type of wall light as a replacement as well? ie it can only be switched on using a string pull off the light.
The switch for the main light is across the room in a corner by the door, if this helps answer.
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoBack Panel for a large old fire surround?
I have an old large wooden fire surround which I am hoping to keep and just change the fire. I have the correct sized recess in the brickwork but a decorative tile arch reduces the height of it to 520mm on the sides and 555mm at top of arch.
1, can I install a modern inset fire without affecting/ removing the arch?
2, if I need to remove the arch, the current tile backing has to also go. Can I get a back panel (for a gas fire) which is bigger than 1000mm height and width?
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoI want to install a new fireplace but Gas pipe comes out from the floor?
We already have an old gas OUTSET fire which we want to replace with a new INSET one. The gas pipe currently comes out of the floor from the side of the hearth we have. The hearth and backpanel look tiled.
Can I still install a inset fire? Can the pipe be rerouted without damaging or removing the hearth and backpanel or will we have to change them completely?
