  • I think I may have postpartum depression and want to hear from other women?

i had a really bad miscarriage at 11 and half weeks pregnant. The bleeding wouldn't stop and I had to have surgery. I have too much going on in my life and I think I need to be on some type of medication. I lost my mother last Feb to cancer now my gran mother is passing. I am having a hard time doing anything. My 1 year old is full of spirit and I just cant keep up. My husband is totally non supportive and yells at me for watching shows about women giving birth even though I find some kind of comfort in them. I have no family for support and i just dint want to get out of bed. I also have hypothyroidism and do not know if this is playing a part. My question is what types of antidepressants have you had success with and didn't gain weight, I already need to lose about 30 pounds and I find my depression making me eat when I am not even hungry. Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this.

  • For all you working parents who need sitters for your children, please read and answer?

Ok, this is a hypothetical question. I am a happily married woman of 5 children. 4 of my children are in school and I have one 10 month old. I am a state tested nursing assistant with a current certification in child, infant and adult CPR. I am in a non-smoking and pet free home. I am thinking about providing daycare services in my home during the day while I attend night school to further my nursing. My question is what would you pay some one to watch your child (children) during the day on a regular basis, being that they would be in a trusted , loving environment that you could count on, even when they got the sniffles?

  • For people that have hypothyroidism, please answer?

Does anyone know what a good range is for your free t4, free t3 and tsh would be? Where it would be so that your symptoms go away and you can lose weight with diet and exercise? All the numbers are confusing me. My recent labs look like this

    TSH 0.62

    free t4-1.1

    free t3- 284

Is my free t3 on the low end? would I feel better if my t3 was higher? Any insight would be great, I do not see my endocrinologist for 2 more months and it is impossible to get her on the phone.

  • What are some other reasons besides pregnancy that you miss a period?

Ok, So I am flipping out a little. My period comes around the 17th of every month like clock work, this month it seemed like it was going to do the same thing, I got brownish discharge, cramping, bloating, moody, and then nothing. Now I am having whitish discharge and no sign of a period. I took a pregnancy test and it came back neg. I have 5 children and I do not feel pregnant. My husband and I use the pull out method (waiting on insurance to cover him getting fixed) but we have not had any slip ups, what do you guys think?

  • I have hypothyroidism and need some advice?

I have hypothyroidism and have been on synthroid feeling like crap still and fat as ever. My dr finally added 5mcg of cytomel to my 100mcg of synthroid and I have been feeling better. On top of things I just found out I am insulin resistant. They weight is slowly coming off with tons of exercise but I am having a very hard time staying on the insulin resistant diet. My dr then prescribed me adipex to help control my appetite. Has anyone else taken this combination of drugs? If so what were the results/side effects, any advice would be helpful.

  • What can my husband and I do about the house we live in that is owned by my deceased mother?

My mother passed away before she was able to do anything about this house we live in. She bought the house for us because our credit is awful from previous marriages. My husband and I are planning on filing bankruptcy. Since my mom did not have time to do anything the house went to my step father. There is 84,000 still owed on the house. is there anyway my step father can just sign over the house to us and the financial responsibility of the mortgage? He does not want te responsibility hanging over his head of waiting til our bankruptcy is done and we build credit to obtain a loan ourselves.

  • In Bankruptcy law in what cases could student loans be included?

I live in Ohio and my husband and I are filing bankruptcy. I was reading about bankruptcy laws and saw where it said that student loans could be included if the judge ruled that it would cause undue hardship. What does this mean, and when is it considered an "Undue hardship"

  • My newborn is now 6 weeks old and I am feeling way way down, any tips?

So my beautiful new little girl is 6 weeks and has colic. Me and her are working threw that along with allot of helpful advice I got on here and our pediatrician. I have 4 other kids all school age. My mother who was only 54 just passed away Feb. 1st due to small cell lung cancer and died a very painful horrible death. I have a horrible x husband who causes problems to put it mildly. The thing is I am exhausted. I was helping take care of my mother who became bed ridden and it wore me down. I have a wonderful husband, but he tunes me out most of the time. He does not listen very well. Like this past week end he dumped his brother's kids on me with out asking and he went to work. It was awful. The kids ran amuck while my poor new born screamed for hours while I walked with her. By the time he got home I was in tears. I feel like my exhaustion is adding to my depression and I do not know what to do. I am afraid to call my doctor because I do not want to be put on anything. Any advice on how to work through all thia with out losing my mind or crying ALL the time? Thanks for bothering to read all this whining and answering.

  • Any women out there with hypothyroidism?

I was diagnosed with this when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. For the last three years before diagnosis I was slowly getting really down from this. i was having anxiety attacks, gained over 40 pounds, having heart palpitations, depression, you name it, I had all the symptoms. My baby is now 3 weeks old. My thyroid levels are coming back normal. I am on 112 mcg of synthroid. My anxiety attacks have vanished, so has my heart palpitations, along with almost all of my other symptoms. I am 5 pounds lighter now then I was before I got pregnant, how ever, I am still 40 pounds over my normal weight. I was wanting to know how other people have successfully lost weight after getting your thyroid under control. Is it possible? I have 4 other children and until the last 3 years never had a weight problem. I am scared that once I start exercising again that the weight wont come off. Just wanting to hear other people's stories.

  • What do you give your baby for colic?

My little one is only 6 days old. I have her on enfamil with iron, ready to feed. Last night and the night before she had bad gas pains and cried all night long. She is having less and less bowl movements so I think she is getting constipated. She is taking 2 oz every 3 hours and burps just fine. I am using playtex nursers. I very badly wanted to breast feed and for some reason my milk just will not come in. My doc thinks it is due to stress. (my mother is dying from cancer and I have 4 other children and my x is just horrible) So the fact that my baby is getting colicy is just killing me because if she was able to breast feed things would be fine and she would not be in pain. Anyways I had a colicky baby before and we used Nutrimigen and it did wonders but that was 8 years ago and I was wondering what everyone else was doing. Also it was so expensive. My husband and I are struggling financially but if we have to go way expensive to keep her pain free then thats ok. I just wanted to hear from other parents before I ask the pediatrician. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • If you have a land contract on the house you are residing in and the owner of that house passes away ?

here is the situation. the house I live in i have a land contract on. My mother owns this house. She is dying of small cell lung cancer and is in allot of debt. I talked to her husband, my step dad, and he is planning on just walking away from all the debt because he really has no choice. I do not know how much protection a land contract offers my husband and I. Is our house safe from leans my mother's debts might want to tack on? Any insight or experiences others have had would be helpful. thanks.

  • For women who have been pregnant multiple times, Please share your experiences.?

I am 30 weeks pregnant with my 5th child. My last child is almost 7 but in between then and now I have had 3 miscarriages. (I get pregnant very easy and I was on birth control all 3x.) My husband and I got pregnant again right before his scheduled operation to get fixed. My mother is dying and my family and I have been really stressed. I am in allot of pain. It starts in my back and ends in my stomach. I started having braxton hicks pretty early in this pregnancy. I am in so much pain at the end of the day lately that it is hard to walk. My baby has dropped like a month ago. I was wondering if any other women out there have this much pain after they have had more then a couple of babies or if I should call my dr. I am worried about going into labor early mostly because this is baby #5 and I am afraid the miscarriages made my insides weak. the pain lately is awful.

  • My Mother has small cell lung cancer, about how long might she have?

She was diagnosed in April, 2008. It is in the extended phase and they recently found the cancer in her bones (like her pelvic bones) and as of friday they also found legions all over the front and back of her brain. The doctors are not wanting to give us a time estimite on how long she might have and I just really need to know. I was wondering if any one out there knew a good web site or has gone through this with a loved one and could possibly shed some light on this subject.
