  • $_POST for arrays and naming convention?

    Hi all,

I am developing an application where forms are generated based on the administrator setup i.e. the admin would setup that question 1 is 'First name', it is a textbox, with max length of 20 and other validations and this question will appear on the user end as a form.

I am simply using the question numbers as names of the input items which makes it very easy to map to the DB.

I have created an option which generates more than 1 input item (From Date, To Date and Description). The admin would setup the answer type as 'range' and then input how many times should the 'range' answer type be repeated. This would print the From Date textbox, To date textbox and the Description textarea and repeat it as per the admin setup.

    Now the problem:

    - I am unsure of the naming convention that I should use. I tried f[question number][repeat index], but couldn't use $_POST on a two dimensional array. Could someone guide me as to how this is done. I have done this with single array for checkboxes, but this is a bit tricky.

    - Is there a better method of naming these input items?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Managing a 1 year old's anger?

My one year old is an extremely active, friendly and fun loving kid. However, within the last few weeks, my wife and noticed that he has started getting a bit stubborn e.g. he likes to put the bottle cap back on the bottle. If for ANY reason, we take the bottle away he gets annoyed and starts crying. (reasons might be - changing his diaper, changing his clothes, taking him out etc., we usually support his in doing this activity as it is good for motor development) or he tries to take my laptop from me and if i put the laptop on a side, he starts crying.

Initially, we tried to distract him with other things, 'hey look, the car keys, or hey look, there's a cat outside' and he would get distracted and forget about his crying.

A few of days back, my father suggested that when he cries, you should walk away. He will cry for a minute and then follow you. When he comes to you, give him a lot of affection. Interestingly, i tried this a couple of times and the exact same thing happened. However, the crying for a minute part differs. it may be 10 seconds and it may be 1 to 2 minute (i think a minute is too long).

I am asking for some guidance from experienced parents as to what is the best way, that will help in better GROOMING the child rather than just looking for a temporary fix i.e. that he stops crying. (we are more concerned about the future)
