  • Ever heard of anyone self harming by inserting ...?

an object into their vaginal canal and not for sexual stimulation so they tell me but just because.

THey say they don't even know why they do it but it's a problem they have. They also have issues with cutting other areas if skin and will pull their pubic hair.

It makes me wonder if they were sexually abused but they denied that however I still wonder if either she isnt telling the truth or doesnt really know.

What do others think of this?

  • plastic vs metal speculums still cause pain equally?

So according to everything I read, the spec. shouldn't really hurt esp if you relax. Or if it does, it seems to be associated with metal ones.

Most places I have been use plastic and all I know is that i try to relax, i feel relaxed as i can be but it still burns, sometimes a lot on entry and exit. Not so much on the opening but that part and I find it quite painful. Is this normal or what? What am I doing wrong?

  • vaginal Needle EMG doesn't hurt???

So I'm considering participating in a research study at a urogynecology center (they torture people I think) and the study involved inserting a sensor probe and doing some kegel exercises than they insert some needles into the vaginal canal for a EMG study that can take a couple of hours max. They said the gyn will numb the area with lidocaine and that it WON"T hurt.... I find this HARD to believe. I can't find any info on the net that's helpful and wondering what others think of this or have gone through it and can attest that it won't hurt?
