4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIf OJ Simpson goes to trial for armed robbery will the race card be played as his defense AGAIN?
I watched some old footage of OJ's murder trial and it brought back the sick feeling I had when the verdict came back not guilty. I also was in total amazement when black communities around the country cheered this verdict. If you remember threats of rioting
in the streets were made by the black communities if he was found guilty. Do you think the color of OJ's skin will save his sorry *** this time, will the justice system fail us again. and if he is found guilty will there be rioting in the streets, will black leaders once again call it a modern day lynching or will they except the fact that OJ is evil and a danger to society.

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy did the chicken cross the road?
One Chicken, One Road, Many Reasons
Why did the chicken cross the road?
KINDERGARTEN TEACHER: To get to the other side.
PLATO: For the greater good of man.
ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross roads.
KARL MARX: It was a historical inevitability.
TIMOTHY LEARY: Because that's the only trip the establishment would let it take.
OSAMA BIN LADEN: That chicken knew nothing of its mission (ha ha ha) only that it would be a martyr.
SADDAM HUSSEIN: This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.
RONALD REAGAN: I forget.
CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.
HIPPOCRATES: Because of an excess of phlegm in its pancreas.
ANDERSEN CONSULTING: Deregulation of the chicken's side of the road was threatening its dominant market position. The chicken was faced with significant challenges to create and develop the competencies required for the newly competitive market. Andersen Consulting, in a partnering relationship with the client, helped the chicken by rethinking its physical distribution strategy and implementation processes. Using the Poultry Integration Model (PIM), Andersen helped the chicken use its skills, methodologies, knowledge, capital and experiences to align the chicken's people, processes and technology in support of its overall strategy within a Program Management framework. Andersen Consulting convened a diverse cross-spectrum of road analysts and best chickens along with Anderson consultants with deep skills in the transportation industry to engage in a two-day itinerary of meetings in order to leverage their personal knowledge capital, both tacit and explicit, and to enable them to synergize with each other in order to achieve the implicit goals of delivering and uccessfully architecting and implementing an enterprise-wide value framework across the continuum of poultry cross-median processes. The meeting was held in a park-like setting, enabling and creating an impactful environment which was strategically based, industry focused, and built upon a consistent, clear, and unified market message and aligned with the chicken's mission, vision, and core values. This was conducive towards the creation of a total business.
LOUIS FARRAKHAN: The road, you see, represents the black man. The chicken 'crossed' the black man in order to trample him and keep him down.
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.
MOSES: And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.
FOX MULDER: You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross the road before you believe it?
RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken did not cross the road. I repeat, the chicken did NOT cross the road.
MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares why? The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was.
JERRY SEINFELD: Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask, What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place, anyway?"
FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.
BILL GATES: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.
OLIVER STONE: The question is not, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Rather, it is, "Who was crossing the road at the same time, whom we overlooked in our haste to observe the chicken crossing?"
CHARLES DARWIN: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically disposed to cross roads.
ALBERT EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.
BUDDHA: Asking this question denies your own chicken nature.
RALPH WALDO EMERSON: The chicken did not cross the road... it transcended it.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die. In the rain.
COLONEL SANDERS: I missed one?
BILL CLINTON: I did not, and I repeat, did not have sexual relations with that chicken.
PAT BUCHANAN: To steal a job from a decent, hard working American.
L.A.P.D.: Give us five minutes with the chicken and we'll find out.
DR. SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes! The chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed, I've not been told!
GRANDPA: In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.
GEORGE W. BUSH: The chicken crossed the road because he was an evil-doer, and we smoked him out of his hole and got him on the run!

Welcome to the Republican Party...
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself a very liberal Democrat and was very much in favor of redistribution of wealth. She was ashamed that her father was a staunch Republican.
Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes and the addition of more government welfare programs. He responded by asking her how she was doing in school. She answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, with no time to go out and party like other students. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend. Her father listened and then asked, "How "How is your friend Audrey doing?"
She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA She is so popular on campus, college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over.
"Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your 4.0 GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree! She played while I worked my tail off!"
The father slowly smiled and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party"

17 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDid this one statement by Senator John McCain get your attention?
Sen. McCain remained strong in his position that Iraqi security is vital to American security. The senator said that if America fails, “we will see Iraq become a center for al Qaeda, chaos, genocide in the region, and they’ll follow us home.”
It’s long, it’s hard, it’s tough, it’s difficult. Americans are frustrated because of the mishandling of this war. But our national interests — the United States’ national interests are at stake. I believe the Maliki government has got to improve. They’ve got to pass certain laws that we all know about. But we must succeed, and we cannot fail, and I will be the last man standing if necessary.
The Senator got my full attention with this statement. It moved him up to #1 on my list of possibilities

The One Job Americans Just Won't Do
By Doug Patton
May 14, 2007
I finally figured it out. I kept hearing about all those jobs Americans just won't do. We're never really told what they are, but I guess we should be happy they're getting done and stop complaining about all the negative aspects of having twenty million illegal aliens in our midst.
Perhaps we should just accept the idea that 25 American citizens are going to continue to be killed every day by illegals -- half of them by drunk drivers -- because it's a small price to pay to get all those jobs done.
We should get used to the idea that nearly four million children of illegals are filling our public schools, and that more than 300,000 illegal aliens are serving time in our prisons. There are another 640,000 illegals who should be in prison but aren't because they are fugitives. We're not paying to incarcerate them, so that's a plus, but unfortunately they are probably the ones responsible for killing those25 Americans every day. And, of course, we are getting those jobs done.
We really shouldn't complain about the resurgence of heretofore eradicated diseases, including Tuberculosis and the plague. You've probably heard that bedbugs are also making a comeback. But it's okay, because we're getting all those jobs done.
I guess we should be more than willing to pay the cost for illegals to flood our hospital emergency rooms for free service; and it's the least we can do to declare their babies born on our soil as American citizens. What else could a compassionate society do for people doing all those jobs for us?
Americans should be happy to press one for English and to sort through multiculti instructions written in Spanish (and sometimes other languages) in order to find the English directions. But again, who else is going to do all those jobs? Snobby, self-indulgent Americans? I don't think so.
I have to confess that I was less than thrilled recently to see my local super market put up new signs over their food aisles directing customers to the item of their choice in both English and Spanish. I found myself wondering how long it would take me to figure out in Mexico City that "Jalapeño" means "Pepper." But after I thought about all those jobs lazy, spoiled Americans (apparently including me) simply won't do, I realized it was well worth whatever inconvenience I might experience.
To tell you the truth, I was at a loss to figure out which jobs the invading hordes of illegals actually were doing that my fellow Americans and I won't do. Oh, I know the usual answers, but those don't seem to be the jobs I see them doing. In fact, I see them roofing houses and making good money at it. I see them working hard at more and more skilled jobs that people I know personally would gladly do.
Then, as I wrote at the beginning of this column, I finally figured it out. It was the story of the Fort Dix Six that finally made it all click for me. Six Muslim men were arrested for plotting to kill American soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
I have a photo hanging on my office wall of my father's Army platoon at Fort Dix. It is dated April 4, 1942. Fort Dix has been a primary jumping-off point for our troops headed overseas for generations, which, of course, is what made it such a tempting target.
At least three of the Fort Dix Six were in this country illegally. They were brothers. They owned a roofing company. Again, that's not a job American workers won't do, so what could they possibly be doing here? That's when it hit me.
Being a member of a terrorist cell is the one job Americans just won't do.

8 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoIs Hillary Clinton suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?
Read Hillary's position on the war, and then give me your diagnoses. She voted in the Senate for H.J. Res. 114, the "Authorization of the Use of Military Force Against Iraq," in October 2002. But now she wants to repeal it. Why? Because, according to Hillary, President Bush misinterpreted the "Authorization of the Use of Military Force Against Iraq" resolution to mean that the use of military force against Iraq had been authorized by Congress.
* At the time of her vote, she stated that her vote for the troop authorization bill was made "with conviction . . . as being in the best interests of the country."
* But once the war became unpopular, Hillary claimed that she hadn't really voted to send troops to Iraq when she voted for the resolution authorizing the use of military force in Iraq.
No, according to Sen. Clinton, all the "Authorization of the Use of Military Force Against Iraq" really did was to toughen the support we were already giving to United Nations inspectors who were looking for weapons of mass destruction. Although the text of the resolution never mentions a single word about strengthening the U.N. inspectors, Hillary believed that was the purpose of the bill.
* She won't apologize for voting for the use of military force resolution because she knew that it did not authorize the use of military force. That's always been clear to her. It was Bush's mistake, not hers. He misled her.
But, if she had known then that he would have interpreted the bill to authorize sending troops, she would have voted against it.
* So now she wants to rescind the authorization to go to war that she voted for in 2002 (although she certainly did not intend to vote for sending troops) - so that President Bush can't send any more troops to Iraq.
* But she will still vote to appropriate funds to pay for the war, even though it would be illegal for Bush to spend money for a purpose that Congress hasn't authorized.
* She's repeatedly said that she would not support a definite timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, but then she introduced a bill to begin withdrawal of the troops 90 days from the day her bill passes. (Given her legislative record, that could be 90 days from the Twelfth of Never.) And she voted for the Democratic troop-withdrawal bill.
* As president, she would definitely end the war, she says . . . but she wouldn't pull out all the troops. Instead, she'd leave U.S. servicemen and -women troops there for the following missions: air, logistical and intelligence support for the Iraqis; training of the Iraqi forces; guarding the hundreds of miles of border with Iran to prevent infiltration, and chasing al Qaeda operatives in Iraq. The only thing they wouldn't do is fight an "urban civil war."
* Despite the extensive mandate of the residual mission, she would not commit large numbers of troops. She won't say how many.
* And all of the troops she sends in will have full body armor.
Got it?

In the past week Bush has Been blamed for the tornado in Kansas.
He has been blamed for the students in dental college cheating on their exams.
I personally blame him for our country not being attacked again and for having more money in my pocket. I also blame him for standing his ground and protecting our troops from congress, who wants them to fight a war with no funds.
So feel free to blame Bush!
Today is your day to vent!
There now isn't easier to blame our President for everything wrong in your life, instead of taking personal responsbility.

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhen and where, Should ones political education begin, at home or the university?
I think knowledge must start at home within the family, Don't get me wrong, my parents didn't teach me the in's and outs of politics as a child, But they did teach me self responsibility, and to give respect where respect is due. also when there was a crisis within the family we were given the tools and the knowledge to face it head on, instead of being sheltered from it, as if the problem would go away if it were ignored. So I can truly thank my parents for the ability to stand strong and face the problems of our country. This is not to say, that I am not frightened and sometimes feel the need to run and hide, because I do. But at the end of the day I will not second guess myself,my beliefs, or my Country.......
