Where can one research on existing business names or trade names in USA?

I am in Australia.

Websites? Appropriate government office?

I am researching setting up a business in Ohio, but can't seem to find any information above the state level. Probably I'm just looking in the wrong places?!

In Australia there is a government website which holds centralized information on this, even though the business name is registered only at the state level.

I have a web form (HTML) which passes its results for viewing to another page (PHP). What is the best method to have that resulting page converted to PDF and stored on the server - not just made available for temporary viewing and storing off-line?

One of my high school sons has a school-rental trumpet. His little sister dropped it on the floor and it landed mouthpiece-down. Fortunately no dents but the mouthpiece is jammed. How do I release it without damaging the instrument?

Several people have phoned and given me lengthy spiels on limited liability commodity options. They are agents, not brokers, working on commission of success. But is this type of investment (a) genuinely bringing in a high level of return as they claim? and (b) comparitively low risk?

Cheap or free would be good. I have tried DeepBurner basic, not Pro yet.

I want to program the query such that it will Filter by category, asking for criteria each time it opens. I know how to make a fixed query of this type (Like "*york*") but I want one that asks for criteria every time.

If you open a table, you can click on top of the column and get a Text Filter "Contains...". How can I get this into a query?

We live about 5km from their colony and lately they seem to have decided some of our trees are great for a rest break and comfort stop on the way to the feeding grounds. Their excreta etches the paint off the car. (Besides the fact they can carry fatal diseases; and they give you a heck of a fright if you disturb them in the dark, and they take off from just above your head). Oh, yeah, they stink too.

Is anyone else having this problem?

You know, in Firefox etc you click on a .PDF link and it automatically opens in Acrobat or Reader.

Well, in Chrome, Acrobat is opening OK but then it says 'can't find the link' or somesuch.

What have I done wrong?
