  • How old is your bikes rider?

I see a lot of posts on here suggesting that sport bike riders are all young punks.... that they probably have little experience...... and that older more mature riders have "graduated" to a Harley-Davidson.... because they have so much more experience. I see more punks wearin' WCC & OCC T's than I do sport bike T's. So my question is.... what do you ride personally and how old are you? Let's find out! Crotch rocket rider here for over 30 years....... 51 years old this month.

  • How many riders saw 147MPH in the last 24 hours?

I did last night. At the rev limiter on my Harley. Wish it went faster. How come it won't? What can I do to improve it's performance? Maybe give my R1 a run for it's money? Even it only goes 186. What's up with that?

  • Do people who think little bikes are not good for beginners or vets, fun, fast .?

... have some sort of weight issue, inferiority complex, .... or are they all from Texas? Whatcha gonna say when I start promoting the Honda CBR125 as a great starter bike. Which it is. As of '07 no longer only available in Europe where it's been the best selling motorcycle in Britain. Now available on the North American continent in Canada. I'm buyin' one to put in a line with my 250 Ninja, 1000 R1 and 1203 Buell! Think big - Ride small

  • Have people who think sport bikes are uncomfortable..?

... actually ridden one 500 miles in a day.. with a buddy on a cruiser? And then traded the next day? And I seriously mean 500 miles.... where the sportbike shines... not 25-100 miles to the pub and back.

  • Have people who think sport bikes are not forgiving...?

..... actually owned one and are that clumsy or not owned one and are that naive? I've seen all types of riders forget which way the throttle turns and where the brakes are on all kinds of bikes. "The Doctor(I hope you know who that is)" will tell you that when he makes a mistake... he'd rather be on his MotoGP bike than a cruiser. There's a reason rockets resemble race bikes and it's not all about speed. The number one reason is control and handling = safety. You think they ride 'em 'cause they want to crash? "Forgiving". On a cruiser? Compared to a sport bike? If you can't control a sport bike which is the lightest, best handling, responsive, and safest thing on the road when handled with respect.......... then you have NO business being on any motorcycle.

  • Am I a "Metric ********"?

    I own two Harley's('00 Buell X1's.

    I owned an XR750 .

My father was a factory Harley-Davidson rider.

I've raced and placed on Harley-Davidsons against "Jap" bikes.

    I'll be racing a Harley-Davidson this year.

My father and I have our names on the WFT monument in Sturgis, SD

I've got an ego(that's what made my father and I expert dirt track riders!!!).

I have been the top motorcycle answerer.

I don't answer questions to help myself.

I support sportbikes for their safety(through superior performance).

I defend them for their misunderstood design(Rider control equals comfort).

I get flamed and thumbed down on "Answers" by riders who don't honestly know.

My father was the 198th Honda dealer)..

I explain how a 250 Ninja will outperform an 883 Sportster in top speed, acceleration, handling, and economy.

    I also ride an '06 Yamaha YZFR1.

I own all of the "Big Four".

My Harleys have metric bolts and screws.

They leak oil by the cc's.

    I wear metric leathers.

  • How come my Harley puked oil?

I recently aquired another Harley. I have all the receipts from "an Authorized dealer" installing a "Jazz" catch can to retrieve any expelled oil from the rocker box breathers(funny they make such a thing since Harleys don't puke oil). It pukes oil. I'd like to have some Harley riders explain. I am a preferred "metric rider". Maybe you can explain the proper way to vent a Harley rocker box such as I have done to my other Harley so it doesn't puke oil all over my girlfriends white leather pants. And so maybe I could take it to a track day and it would be legal like my other Harley instead of being a poser. The "Authorized Dealer" couldn't accomplish that. Remember.... if it's not vented properly... it WILL blow the rocker gaskets and puke even more oil.

  • Need advice for Buell dirt track project.?

I'm converting one of my Buell X1 Lightnings into a dirt tracker similar to the 883 dirt trackers the AMA ran in pro competition for local amateur events. My question is...... How many cranking amps do I need to run just the starter, ignition and fuel pump. Or if I were to remove the starter alltogether which requires more amps..... how much do I need to just run the ignition and fuell pump. The goal of course is to run as small a battery as possible to save weight. Thanks for advice!

  • Do you think Mark Martin may regret running all the races if he ends up just barely missing the chase?

Even if he finished 30th at Bristol for example. Maybe the driver who ends up edging him out of the chase may have only gotten 40th at Bristol. In other words... Mark would be in the chase just for picking up any points he could and knocking back others a few.
