  • Do you find that jobs that require the most paper work are usually low paid jobs?

e.g. I applied for a couple of part-time jobs at a supermarket and a factory, and despite the fact that I had plenty of experience, neither places would consider my application because I only had one reference. (because my previous employer was from 6 years ago and she's probably forgotten me).

Then I went to an art gallery, they saw that I was qualified enough for the job and they gave me a part-time position without needing to see any references. They just interviewed me and looked at my CV.

Why is it that really simple jobs that a 12 year old could probably do, requires so much paperwork, yet a job that requires some level of competence, doesn't need as much?

  • Would you agree that the American media's emphasis on Celebrity culture and Hollywood etc?

is really just a method of distraction from how utterly shite and corrupt their government is?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against american people but I do think it's about time they woke up and realised what their leaders are doing and do something about it. There's more media coverage of Miley Cyrus' a...rse at the vma's than there is around other really important issues.

Are people not aware or are they just in denial of how bad their govt really is?

BQ: If you do watch the news, do you watch only news from your country or do you watch foreign news channels aswell? (you know, for different perspective on things).

  • Tips on how to make porridge nice and creamy?

I always have porridge for breakfast but when I make it, it turns out really shite.

I either burn the bottom or if I cook it on low heat, it doesn't cook properly and it just ends up all lumpy, lol.

I flat and I'm the only one that can cook (not well, obviously, but I know how to work a stove), so I don't have anyone else to make it for me and we don't have a microwave.

I add a pinch of salt too, I don't know why, I just do it because my dad told me too. Anyone know how to make it properly?

also, I'd ask my dad but it's 6:30am and I'm hungry now, and I don't think he'd appreciate me calling him this early to ask how to make my breakfast.

oh, and I do stir it consistently but it still manages to burn so I'm not sure if it's me or if it's the oven or pot.

    ok thanks! :)

  • When you are told something, do you just accept it as it is, or do you question everything?

I'm referring specifically to politicians and the media. Do you just accept what they tell you, or do you question what they say?

or, are you not bothered at all by politics etc?

Do they learn from computer courses or do they just google it and find out for themselves?

  • What do you think of a woman/girl who says she does not want to get married and have children?

My mum and I had a wee argument before and long story short, I told her that I have no desire to be married and have children.

She now thinks I have serious issues and wants me to get psychological help. (My mum's a real, old school Catholic lady...so her reaction is not surprising to me).

Do you think it's weird, fine, selfish or...??

  • Online connection for call of duty games?

Does anyone here always have really bad connection on any cod multiplayer match? Mine is always 1-2 bars, even with people in my own country (nz) and I thought it was my Internet connection that was the problem, but when I play multiplayer on Splinter Cell Blacklist, it's always four bars, even when I play with people in Germany or Austria, the connection is still really good.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is it something to do with the cod servers or my own Internet connection?

  • Auckland weather, love, hate or not bothered?

I may just be a drama queen but I went there last month and it was so bad, I couldn't sleep for the entire weekend I was there. It was so humid and gross, even when it rained. (the city wasn't gross, but the weather made me feel gross).

Any other people from the colder regions of NZ, who can't handle the humid weather of auckland? or is it just me...

    [I'm from down south.]

  • What's the best film you've seen, so far this year?

(Doesn't have to be a film released this year, just one that you've seen).

  • Study Abroad in Russia, how much money to take for a year?

I'm going to Russia next year to study, for a full academic term, plus a few extra months to sight see.

We were advised to save $10,000NZD in total for food, travel, text book expenses, spending money etc, but to me this seems like very little.

$10,000NZD here, can buy me a really good Alienware laptop ($5,000), an xbox one ($700-$800), some decent winter boots and coat ($600) and then say the rest would be a couple months worth of groceries, rent and maybe internet, but certainly not enough to live off for a full years worth of study.

$10,000NZD is roughly $256,000 Russian Roubles and I wondered if this was considered a lot in Russia for the average Russian person?

I would like to take enough to be safe (since I'm going alone and it'll be so far from home).

All my accommodation and course fees will have been paid for before I go over.

I would have asked the exchange office but I'd rather hear it from ordinary Russians, actually living in Russia.

If you don't mind saying, how much would you say you'd roughly need a week, to live comfortably?

    Thank you.

  • COD players: What sensitivity do you play on?

I've always used 14 for both Zombies and Multiplayer on Bo2 (because my brother does it and he's good, so I thought I'd be good if I copied lol).

I always assumed most people use 14 for multiplayer (I definitely think it's good for zombies though), but Alia-A has a pretty low sensitivity, so that made me wonder.

Dunno, just a random question. What sensitivity do you prefer for Bo2 zombies and multiplayer? (or on any cod game).

I'm thinking of lowering mine a bit, see how it goes.

  • What video games, being released soon, are you looking forward to most?

I'm pretty excited for COD Ghosts. Splinter Cell Blacklist looks sick for both Campaign and Multiplayer, same with BF4 and Elder Scrolls online looks pretty good too. Then there's Black Flag, GTA 5 and Saints Row 4...this is definitely a good year for games (in my opinion).

Bonus Question: If you have a PS3 or Xbox360, are you going to get your games for:

    1. your current console

    2. next gen. console

    3. both?

I haven't decided, at the moment I'm leaning towards both...
