I have an '02 Sunfire with the L61 Ecotec , and my ignition will not start my car. I had the ignition first give me trouble last summer. The thing would no longer turn back to the ACC or LOCK position, and the key was optional for it to start. Also the transmission lock system quit. I kept driving it for the past 10 or 11 months, hoping I wouldn't have to replace an ignition. It was fine, as long as I locked the car when I left it.

Well, a week ago, I have an intermittent issue with the ignition. It tried to lock, but I could still get it started. Sometimes when it would start and try to lock, the gages would go out and the A/C wouldn't work while the engine was running. I'd pull over and attempt a restart and the gauges would come back and A/C would work.

2 days ago, I forgot to put the key in and tried to start it. It tried to start, but then the "Theft System" light came on and the ignition locked. I put the key in and tried to start it and got nothing. The light would come on, but would go off after I tried to crank it a few seconds. It never blinked for 10 minutes or anything, so the "10 min trick" never worked. I do have a check engine light that's on while I try to crank it, but the theft light hasn't been on since the first night it locked up. I don't have a code scanner, and my car is stuck in a public library parking lot.

Any advice? I think this may be more than just a passlock issue. I can't get it started to snip the yellow wire to disable the passlock.

I am dating a great woman and things are awesome. And about a month after I started dating my lady, my first cousin started dating her younger sister. Now it's been 4 months and both couples are exclusive. We don't care how it looks.

We think it's funny, but how do you think it looks for 2 first cousins to date 2 sisters?

I cut the cat off and welded a pipe in place, hoping to gain mpg. Well, it didn't work. Now I am down from 29mpg to 20-21mpg and am burning more oil than usual. My idle is rough too, starting around 1200 rpm until the engine warms up.

I am wondering the other risks I am facing too.

Is this common when a car like this doesn't have a Cat Converter?

I plan to get one ASAP btw, so you environmentalists can lay off.

FYI, my car has no EGR valve...

Me and this girl have been like boyfriend and girlfriend for 6months. We hit it off, but she told me she was getting over a break up. We still made a connection, so I waited for her to get over it.
