I am having surgery in 10 days and i have small veins, and usually they have to make two attempts to get an IV started. So i need tips on how to make this experience easier and make my veins larger.

So im sixteen and having an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair in two weeks. My mom and I are trying to get tips to aide in my recovery. This past September I was in a car accident and tore my infraspinatus tendon, the doctor also believes I may have a labral tear that did not show up on the MRI due to the mechanism of the injury. He said the injury was similar to that of a linebacker. I want to know some peoples experiences with this type of surgery. What helped you? Did you use an ice machine such as Game Ready? Women, what did you find easiest to wear after surgery and what did you do far as a bra? How did you shower and take care of yourself?

I want the good the bad and the ugly. Im just really nervous.

Im about to have shoulder surgery and need help with what is going to happen during surgery. I have not had surgery since being diagnosed. So what options do I have? What should I do to prevent lows?

Im not diabetic. But, last night two hours after eating my blood sugar was 179, then I woke up and checked it was 268. My dad, and both grandparents are diabetic so we know the symptoms. Im always thirsty, constantly hungry, I have to use the bathroom a lot, and im always really tired. So my question is do I go to the doctor or just check it for a few days and make sure it's not just a fluke? Being that I'm a teenager typically teenagers have type one. Would this be typical of a person with uncontrolled type one diabetes?

I have Hoffa's disease and patellofemoral syndrome. This has been going on for two years already, and nothing has helped. I have had two rounds of physical therapy, and that didn't help. Two weeks ago from tomorrow I had a cortisone injection into my knee. Now my knee hurts worse, its a sharp stabbing pain before it was a dull achy pain. I walked eight feet and it started hurting, and if I'm on it to much it swells ALOT. It never did that before, it would swell a little but not like it does now. I'm also on Mobic which has helped some but very little. I go back April 6th, but I may go ahead and move it up. I know if I go back I am having surgery. I know at some point I will be having surgery its just a matter of now or a few years down the road. So my question is if you were me would you go ahead and move the date up or wait till the appointment in April. I really want to get back to playing soccer, and running.

My orthopedic surgeon thinks I have a torn meniscus, and possibly some other ligament tears. I am having an MRI Wednesday, and a follow up to figure out whats going on Thursday. I was running about two years ago, I turned and heard a pop, it hurt for a few weeks but I could walk and it got better, but the pain comes back from time to time. I can't run because of the pain, and I had to quit playing soccer because of it. He said I may need to have a meniscus repair. I am really nervous because I have never had surgery nor had anything like this happen. I know everybody's experience is different, but can somebody explain whats going to happen if I do have surgery?

So, my brother will be 18 tomorrow and we are incredibly close. I want to make him a slideshow with a song playing in the background. Is there any good songs describing the love between a brother and a sister. It can be in either POV but preferably the sisters. I would prefer country but anything works. Thanks!

So, I have liked this guy for over a year. He is my best friend. We dated for three weeks then he just said we where better off as friends. I was so heartbroken. I'm 14 and I have been self harming for about a month, I have been depressed for I don't know how long. Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety, OCD, and the whole nine yards runs in my family. I really want help but I don't know how to tell my parents. They went through this with my brother so I know exactly where I am going. I'm probably going in the hospital but I'm so scared. I'm 14 and have been told for 6 years I need braces. A few weeks back I went to the dentist and they gave me a paper to go back to the Orthodontist. My brother got his in 6th grade and got them off when he was my age. Then he had to get them back on because he didn't wear his retainers and we didn't have the money so our orthodontist only charged what the insurance would cover. I had to lose 2 teeth before I got them I have lost one of them and the other is very loose. My mom told me in 6th grade I would probably get them in 7th grade, 7th grade comes I'm told I will get them in january of 8th grade, here it is January of 8th grade oh you will get them next year. I'm sick of this I can't eat, My teeth constantly ache from moving because there so crowded, and I have speech problems because of them. My mom will not take me to the Orthodontist even if I can't get braces or can. Because we don't have the money when they knew about this 2 years ago! When I know the orthodontist will work with us. But nooooo! That's not gonna happen and she won't even try! What should I do? My problem is that she will not even try she won't even listen to me. I get we don't have the money but how does she know if she doesn't try! What do I do?
