  • Trade Offer: Ichiro/Aardsma for Braun?

OK, I have a trade offer sent to me that I'm torn on: Ichiro Suzuki & David Aardsma for Ryan Braun. Braun was my #1 pick in this year's draft (8th overall). 5x5 Mixed League - 12 teams - very competitive - currently 6th in league (last playoff spot) - sitting just over .500.

My Current Offense: R. Martin, A. Gonzalez, Pedroia, Jeter, Lowell, Braun, Ethier, Damon, Branyon

My Current Relievers: H. Bell, K. Wood, B. Ziegler, R. Choate (Next-to-last in league with saves (23)).

Thoughts? I really want to make the playoffs this year, after missing it the last 3 years in my league.

  • 2000 Lexus RX 300 w/ 130,000+ mi for $7500 - thoughts?

OK, here's the scoop. I have a friend of mine transferring overseas. He has a black 2000 Lexus RX 300 AWD, loaded w/ leather, 130,000 mi. He's needing to sell it by mid-Jan. He's wanting $7500 for it.

I'm not very knowledgeable in Lexus, regarding performance, maintenance, etc. If there are those with experiences with older RX 300's, could someone give me pros/cons of this? I'd like to help my friend, but at the same time, I'd like to be sure I'm not buying something that'll require boatloads of $ to keep maintained. I've been wanting something like a small SUV for a while (esp. for longer commutes and trips - I need the room travelling with 2 dogs or a foursome of golfers). 130,000 miles kinda worries me, and it's also 9 years old.

    Thanks!

  • Pick 2 NASCAR drivers to drive an IndyCar?

OK ... This is something just for fun, and all open-wheel haters should be mindful of their responses. Please take time to think before submitting your response.

You own a 2-car IndyCar team, and have equipment / engineers equivalent to those of Penske, Ganassi, AGR, etc. Your current responsiblity is to choose *any* two current NASCAR drivers to pilot your machines. Which two drivers do you choose and why?

    Response Rules:

** No contract negotiations necessary. If you ask them, they say "Yes"

** Previous winners of the Indy 500 are OUT. However, all other open-wheel experienced drivers are available for selection (includes T. Stewart, R. Gordon, J. Andretti, & others I've missed)

** KEY POINT: If you already see your desired combination posted - choose another combination. This will keep suggestions fresh - you snoose, you lose.

Best response and reasoning behind submission will receive the "Best Answer" and associated pts. Good Luck!

  • Car Insurance Question: Rear-Ended Today?

OK ... probably an easy one, but might be worth asking, since this may happen 1000+ times/day.

I was at a red-light in my truck, and was rear-ended at a very low speed. The truck that rear ended me ended up with scuffs on his front-bumper tow-eyes, so he'll claim nothing. I have two "pop-marks" on my bumper, no paint loss, and it's really cosmetic more than anything. The damage is no more than opening a car door and hitting the car next to you.

We did not call the police. Both vehicles drivable, and no injuries. I've been hit harder playing golf.

He did give me his insurance information (State Farm) for *his* vehicle, since he hit me with his father's truck, and I just gave him my name/address/phone. The guy was very apologetic, nice, and made sure me and the dog were OK.

If I would like to get my bumper fixed (mostly to get the 2 pop-marks out), what is the best course of action I should take? Never have needed to claim before, so I want to make sure.
