Who inherits assets .?
My parents are divorced. My dad just found out my mom is getting $1000 monthly out of my dads retirement (which disgusts everybody), so I wanted to ask.. When my dad passes away, and assuming my mom is still alive, is my dad has it in his will for everything to go to my sister and I, is there some twisted loophole or law that can allow anything of my dads (whether it be property, items or money) to go to my mom, even if it is not in his will?
Thanks :/
8 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoWhy do so many Hockey Players die of heart attacks?
Take a look at this list:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ice_hockey_pl...
If you scroll over it, you'll see theres a dozen+ players that have die of some sort of heart disease (heart attacks, heart failure, cardiac arrest, etc)
I know theres more players that have died from other causes, but I'm more concerned with the heart problems! Why are there so many?!
4 AnswersHeart Diseases9 years agoPrehypertension problems at age 20?
Hi there,
I have a bit of a delimma. I feel that I have blood pressure problems (or i could just be over reacting).
Some things you should know:
Age: 20
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 183Lbs
Today's diet: I had 1 cup of coffee around 10AM, then about 2-3 around noon. After that all I've really had was milk and a doenut.
Because of how tall I am, I'm actually pretty slim. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week (i do more weight lifting than cardio.. Come to think of it I don't really do any cardio at all).
I just took my blood pressure (It's a decent machine; Made by "Sharper Image". We compared it to hospital BP results and they were extremely identical).
Any how, it's currently 12:08AM. I have been sitting around in front of my PC for a few hours now, and I decided to take my blood pressure, and from what I've seen its kinda bad considering I've been sitting around doing nothing.
Result:
134 - 139 (S)
--------------
84 - 88 (D)
Pulse: (62-69 BPM)
The readings were a little different each time, but on average thats about where my readings fell between.
I'm very paranoid about my blood pressure. Very. I think about it on a daily basis.
The last time I took my BP with this machine was about 5 days ago, and the readings were a little similar (the diastolic was more like 79 then). One thing I think I should mention is that my diet consists of a huge amount of whole chocolate milk every day for the last 4-5 months. I never really factored it in, as I thought it would take many years to begin to hurt my blood pressure. And on top of all this, I'm trying to become a marine. I'm going to meps within 2 weeks from now, so I dont know how they'll react to my current BP.
So, basically..
How bad is my BP?
Has my diet from the last few months going to severely impact my blood pressure for the rest of my life, or will it be possible to get myself back to normal levels?
Are the MEPS doctors going to DQ me for my current BP?
And please keep in mind, yeah I know my diet is fricken terrible, and I'm going to change it starting now.
Thank you to all!
2 AnswersHeart Diseases9 years agoHooking up with a girl?
Basically theres this cute girl that i like that my sister works with.
She tried dancing with me at my moms wedding (i was in the middle of doing something so i couldent just stop what i was doing)/she grabbed my hand and was like 'come on'! Im gonna assume it wasent in a flirty way
anyways im 19 and shes like 22. so yeah shes older than me but idk if thats a problem since idk if girls are into that or not.
Not sure wtf to do. I only met her at the wedding and never talked to her since but yeah i think shes really cute/my sis has told me a lot about her so im obviously interested in her more than just her looks. but not sure how to kick start things without coming off to creepily.
Thanks everyone.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating10 years agoIs the government going to reduce our military size?
So yeah, do you think the US govt. is going to reduce the size of our military (active service men & women)? Please explain your answer whether it be yes or no.
But please do NOT give me an answer based on what you would want to happn (IE: stupid "yeah i hope it gets smaller, we're in debt!" or "omg we gotta have a big a*ss military!" comments).
Thanks!
8 AnswersMilitary10 years agoGiven inhaler at 15 + MEPS?
Hey there,
first and foremost, for those who say 'lie', I must say to you all directly - I do not want to do that. I do not want to enter the service and have to worry about getting caught. I do not want to have any bad marks on my 'record' that could effect my future (Fruad. enlistment, etc).
Second,
First, my mom said that I have never been diagnosed with asthma. My first symptoms of asthma was when I was about 5 years old. I used an inhaler on and off for just a few months (if that), and never used it again. Fast forward to 15 years old, one day I woke up and wasent feeling that good. i was coughing a little bit, and it made my mom get concerned about my asthma (thinking it may have come back again). She took me to the doctor that day (my pediatrician), he prescribed me albuterol.
2 days later, we called him back saying I was fine. He noted down on the record of my visit that after 2 days i was fine, so in other words, he made it official. A few years later, he retired. I now have a new doctor, and I have been intrested in the Marine Corps for the last 5 years+. I want to earn the title of a US Marine and serve my country more then anything else in my life.
So straight to the point, I had visited my doctor thinking that I may have had asthma, and since I was fine 2 days later, even my new doctor says that "there is no way it was asthma. you had a cold if you were fine just a few days later and never needed an inhaler again".
I took a pulmonary function test (recruiter said I should take it). It showed that I do not have asthma.
I got a note from my doctor stating that I do not have asthma or any symptoms.
My recruiter is going to fax both my PFT results and doctors note down to MEPS.
What's going to happen? I know that after the age of 12/13 if you have a diagnosis (which i never have officially had), or apparently symptoms, that you are automatically DQ'd?
And please, I must insist, to those who arent qualified to answer this question (input helps, but the people who tend to only learn things from reading people comments online and think they know 100% what they're talking about, are not helpful). I guess im sorta contradicting myself. Anyhow.
My sincerest thank you(s) to all who prove to give helpful answers.
PS-
I've seen on the 'medical standards guidelines' that it says diagnosis/symptoms after (12/13) is an automatic DQ.', but due to the nature of my convoluted situation, I feel that, that doesnt really help me/answer my question. And YES I KNOW ONLY PRETTY MUCH ONLY MEPS PHYSICIANS CAN GIVE ME THE REAL DEAL ANSWER, BUT I CANT ASK THEM. Therefore I am asking Y!A.
2 AnswersMilitary10 years agoWhat do I do about MEPS?
Basically when I was a child my doctor thought I had asthma. He prescribed me an inhaler that I hardly used (because it didnt help). This was BEFORE I was 12 years old.
At the age of 15 (in 2007), I had visited my doctor due to wheezing, and was prescribed an inhaler. It did not help me again, and he noted that I was totally fine 2 days later. He did however 'note' "Asthma" the first time I visited him about the wheezing.
Now, I am 19. I have had absolutely NO symptoms at all. I have ran for 3 miles on a 100F day in the middle of summer. I tool a pulmonary function test and it showed that I do NOT have asthma at all. The doctor that wrote that note has retired. My current physician has even said to me that there is no way it was asthma, and that I was just a cold. I have asked him to amend that record, but he can not since he was not the one who did it.
I asked my doctor to write me a note stating that I am fine, that I have no asthma symptoms and that I use no medications for it. So he did it and I have it now. My recruiter is ready to fax my letter, pulmonary results down to MEPS.
What do I do? I know that mentioning I had 'asthmatic-like symptoms' after the age of 12 (or 13) is disqualifying. PDQ. But will this doctors note sort of make these MEPs doctors disregard that 2007 visit when I was 15? I really don't want to lie about this, but its incredibly unfair that I might/will be disqualified just because of a doctors fluke.
Thank you to all who give helpful answers.
3 AnswersMilitary10 years agoCorrect errors in my Medical Records?
Hi there,
I need to have something modified in my medical records:
In 2007 I visited my doctor for wheezing. It was absolutely NOT asthma. How do I know? Because he gave me a bronchodilator, and it provided no improvement with my medical problem (It was just allergies + a cold at the same time, my mom brought me in and was worried I had asthma but I didn't know what to say really. I even told him I didnt think I had asthma but "just to be safe" he gave me an inhaler).
I absolutely DO NOT want "Asthma" on my medical record. The reasons aren't relevant, other then I want this to be corrected. And I'd appreciate those who are self righteous to not answer my question.
So basically:
1.) What is the process?
2.) How long does it take?
3.) Is Asthma something that can be removed? (I took a pulmonary function test and it showed I have no asthma).
Thank you to all who help me with this!
3 AnswersOther - General Health Care10 years agoMarine Corps "Standards of medical fitness"?
I'm trying to look this up.. but the only search results that I am returning is "ARMY standards of medical fitness) (Searching on google/about.com).
My theory is that since there is nothing for the Marine Corps.. the marine corps doesnt even have their predefined medical standards (or at least not the same way the Army does/readily available, I guess..)?
So basically for the slow:
Can I look at the standards of medical fitness for the marine corps? Do they even exist? If so, where can I view them?
PS-
I'm visiting my recruiter in a few days (hes on vacation, which is why I'd like to just see these standards now before I go and bug him with my questions).
Thank you.
2 AnswersMilitary10 years agoGynecomastia surgery + asthma and Marine corps?
I had minor gynecomastia surgery done on my chest. There was NO fat, just a small amount of glandular tissue on each side. This has not affected me AT ALL. It has not impaired me at any level. My suregon made a small 3/4" incision on each nipple and took the excess gland tissue out and sewed me back up.
Now MEPS is coming up. I will be examined by a doctor, and I refuse to lie about my medical history. What is he most likely going to say? Will I be DQ'd?
I also had a pulmonary function test done just a few days ago, and i was shown i have an EXTREMELY small case of asthma (i had some asthma when i was a child but havent used an inhaler for over a decade. I'm 19.). I havent had any wheezing for at least a decade. I have ran soo many miles in my conditioning class in high school and NEVER did i have ANY problems.
Whats going to happen?!
8 AnswersMilitary10 years agoPrice of a pulmonary function test?
Yeah i need a pulmonary function test because I'm joining the Marine Corps (I had a history of asthma, which is why they require it). I'd like to know how much $$ its gonna cost, because I've heard it costs from $40 to $800, so you can see why I'd like to know.
I'm with Kaiser if that helps.
Thanks!
6 AnswersRespiratory Diseases10 years agoQuestion about marine boot camp?
Hey there i had a question to ask, since ill be signing up in the next week
In the marine core boot camp.. does it really "affect" you?
Sound like a weird question? Allow me to explain:
My sister has dated 2 Marines. They both were immature, and "wild". As you can see like on youtube vids (i know it sounds stupid but thats where most civilians get to see our military), where marines act like total dumb asses.
I thought boot makes you more "serious/mature" and not all wild and stupid like a 12 year old with too much sugar.
Make sense now? No? Well if it doesnt, then dont answer.
Thanks!

2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoGetting a loan for stuff I need?!?
Well first off.. Please don't get the wrong impression from this question. I realize getting a loan is NOT "free money" and that I WILL have to pay it back, money doesnt grow on trees, bla bla bla.. But heres my situation:
-I CAN NOT find a job anywhere.
-Parents are paying for school, but refuse to "pay for gas because it should be your responsibility to get gas money"
I have tried hard to get a job (I live in California), and as of right now it's literally damn near impossible because of the sheer amount of people applying & amount of available jobs.
I'm going to a junior college, I have a car, I need to be able to pay for gas too get to school, so I figured I should get a type of loan that I dont have to make a single payment till about a year or 2 from now (when the economy will be better and when ill be in a better position to pay it off).
So basically: Is there such thing as a loan like the one above? If so may I have a link to a bank? Is it trustworthy? THANKS!!!!!!!

I applied at sears, after trying to contact a girl that handles applications she said "can you come in for an interview tomorrow?" so i go in the next day (today) and after the interview was over, the man goes "alright the manager will contact you within a week 'if he wants you (something like that'". I came dressed good. Was careful about what i said. Asked questions to show that i care, and that i wasent just shooting into the dark, ect..
I've been out of high school for like 3 months. So does it sound like i'll get the job? (i know its too hard to say from your point of view but im curious!)

Ok so my dad said he needs my motorcycle permit number because hes going to call AAA and talk to them how i have previous experience driving (on a motorcycle) before i was on a car, with hopes of knocking down the insurance several hundred dollars. I need to know if having a motorcycle permit is gonna even affect the price of the insurance he'll be paying for my car. And i also need to know how to get a morotcycle permit number because i lost the permit (i really dont want to have to renew it, can i call dvm and ask for it?). Thanks
1 AnswerInsurance & Registration1 decade agoI have a problem with my molar tooth?
I had a route canal done. They drilled out the route and put in a temporary filling. My parents havent done anything about the tooth because or some insurance or some BS like that. Its been like 2 years since the route canal. There is not tooth left. Its broken off because of the way they drilled out the tooth. now all thats left what im guessing is the routes and some other crap (theres no actual tooth at all). I'm going to go to the dentist in the next few weeks or so, and im wondering what there going to do about it, because its like.. bad. I dont need your god damn opinion about it, i know its bad and im suffering enough as it is, just tells me what there going to do to fix it. Btw its a molar in the back, bottom tooth, 4th one back. thank you
1 AnswerDental1 decade agoDoes the government have the authority to..?
This is going to strike you as a very strange question, but does the govt have the power to randomly take your car away? even if you have done nothing wrong? (lets set aside any factors). Im basically asking if they have the power to take away something that you have fully paid for and have full ownership over
