Is it possible to disconnect the power from a hard drive without going into the case?
I have two HDD's, one with Vista and one with Windows 7. I want to keep them on separate drives but I also want to choose which to boot without having to go into the bios and changing the boot priority.
What would be ideal would be a external switch to cut the power to one of the drives. Can this be done? Any other ways to do it?
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoWhy can't incompetent, lazy and selfish people be sacked from their jobs?
It seems that the people who play the system to the letter of the rules get away with blue murder whilst those who get their heads down and do the job are always targeted first. Why do companies seem to operate in this way? It hardly inspires the workforce to better themselves.
The same goes for criminals, they seem to get more protection then the victims. eg.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat should I replace?
I need a wifi enabled device that is capable of fast internet access and has a document viewer that can read Word, excel and PDF files.
I have a PSP but the internet browser is slow and it won't read documents.
My ideas include a Nokia 5800 that would replace my phone, an ipod touch to replace my ipod or possibly a netbook. I have £200 to spend but not entirely sure which way to go.
Any ideas or suggestions much appreciated.
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoHow could you objectively and fairly evaulate the effort a work force puts in to their work?
I have always thought that its not the absolute speed an indivdual works at but whether they work to their potential.
Is there a way to measure this?

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhere can I find white diabetic chocolate?
I have a relative in a nursing home who is diabetic and neither I nor anyone else can give her any form of chocolate without it saying diabetic on the packet. Its stupid because its probably just as bad but because of their stupid insurance requirements.........
Something small would be ideal (like milky buttons) but I will take anything.

To get out they stand at the door and jump, but they can't or won't go back in of their own accord. Any ideas?

6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHow can I vote without knowing anything about any of the candidates?
I got the polling card through the door today for the county council and European elections.
Politicians are always going on about how inportant it is to vote but I haven't heard anything about any of the possible candidates, no names, no policies, nothing. How can anyone make a decision if nobody knows what decision we are making?
STUPID POLITICIANS!!!
12 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf I plug something into the wall does it ALWAYS need a fuse?
I brought something off of Amazon and it arrived today. I plugged it in and it promptly tripped everything.
Opened it up and its half burnt (literally black) and there is no fuse. I am not an electronics expert but surely thats the point of the fuse, to prevent catastrophic componant damage when it tries to draw too much current.

My enclosures power supply failed but the drive is fine. I put it in my desktop and its working absolutley fine.
Is it possible to get a 3.5 inch SATA enclosure thats USB powered? I can only find enclosures that need a separate mains supply.
