Is anyone else getting this error?
It's only started happening today. Sometimes, when I answer a question, the site spits back a text only version, an obvious Javascript error. When I refresh the page, it's fine. I'm not really wondering why it happens (I know this site is glitchy sometimes) or if I can fix it (I know I probably can't), just if others are having this problem today too.
If it matters, I have Windows XP and am using Google Chrome.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers10 years agoIs there a better browser than Firefox/Chrome?
I used Mozilla Firefox for the longest time, but I eventually got sick of how much memory it hogged (I have an older computer) and switched to Google Chrome. It's a lot better in that regard, but I miss a lot of the features Firefox had, and I'd really like to find something better. So, I guess my question is twofold:
1. How is Internet Explorer these days? I know it used to be complete crap compared to Firefox and Chrome, but I've heard it's gotten a lot better since IE9 came out. Particularly, does it boast the same features as Firefox or Chrome? Lack of an adblocking feature would be a deal-breaker for me, for one.
2. What else is there? I've heard of Opera, but I've never personally used it. How is that? And are there any other, more obscure browsers that are just as good, but don't get a lot of attention out there? I mean, I could just try them myself, but I don't want to download something just for it to be worthless.
Please only answer if you are aware of the differences between various browsers, and know what you are talking about. Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersOther - Internet10 years agoIs there some sort of ban on posting links to Tumblr?
I tried to answer a question earlier, and the source link I was giving came from someone's Tumblr (couldn't find the info anywhere else). But it wouldn't let me post it, gave me a 999 error. So, I'm wondering if there's some sort of filter preventing links to there being posted, or is it just a coincidence that I would get that error at the same time I was posting that link?
2 AnswersYahoo Answers10 years agoThird-parties who have worked closely with Nintendo?
Specifically, I want a list of third-party companies who have either A) had their characters crossover with Nintendo characters or B) have created an entry in a Nintendo franchise. So you know exactly what I'm looking for, here's the list I have so far:
Capcom: developed several games in the Zelda series
Konami: Snake in Brawl
Namco Bandai: Mario Kart Arcade GP
SEGA: The Mario & Sonic games, Sonic in Brawl
Square Enix: Super Mario RPG, a few recent crossovers
Tecmo Koei: Team Ninja helped develop Metroid: Other M
If you can think of any other companies that fit this category, please reply. DON'T count second-parties like Game Freak or Retro Studios, and DON'T count subsidiaries of any of the above named companies (for instance, I know Hudson Soft helped develop Wario Blast!, but Hudson Soft is a subsidiary of Konami). Thanks in advance!
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games10 years agoPlayable characters in F-Zero Climax?
Does anyone know the full character roster for the Japan-only F-Zero Climax? I can only find a list of the four new characters it added, and a partial list of unlockable characters, but I need a full roster. I realize the game is somewhat obscure and was only released in Japan, but any help is appreciated. Thanks!
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games10 years agoSpace issues; how big is a DVR?
I'm currently in the process of switching from Charter to DirecTV. They're coming to install everything tomorrow. Anyway, as part of their promotion for switching, we get a free DVR. Anyway, I was wondering how big it is. In other words, what are its dimensions? You see, our current cable box is rather small, so we can fit some movies in the cabinet beside it. I know a DVR is larger, but I was wondering how large so I can get an idea of whether we'd need to move the movies or not. Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerTiVO & DVRs1 decade agoHow to stop someone from spamming up the community?
I often answer questions over on the Video and Online Games part of the site, and recently there has been someone (I'm obviously not going to reveal any details for their privacy) who has been asking the same questions with very minor variations under various sockpuppet accounts. You can tell it's the same person because they're all variations of the same base name and ask the same questions. Anyway, I often report these questions for spam and advertising (there's a link to the same website in each of these questions, he's probably just asking them for advertising purposes), and other apparently do as well since they always get deleted eventually. However, it doesn't stop him from coming back every day, multiple times a day under a slightly differently named account.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was further action that could be taken so that this guy could be permanently removed from the site. Maybe a way to contact whoever owns Yahoo! Answers and have his IP address blocked or something. Just any way I could do something more than just reporting his questions, since that obviously isn't working. Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoOdd glitch, says the question was deleted when it's not?
Sometimes when I answer a question on here, it'll say "The question was deleted" and all that, but when I get back to the category, it's not deleted and my answer went through just fine. Does anyone know why this happens? It's rather annoying to have to hit the back button a few times to get back to answering questions.
