Catriona :) EQUESTRIAN I currently have two horses: - Lucy - 14hh, Flea Bitten Grey, Part Bred Arab. Amazing show pony, always in the ribbons. Has so much personality. Wouldn't change a thing about her! :) -Stanley- 17hh, Chestnut, Ducth Warmblood This one is going to be my future. He is hopefully going to be my star eventer and also a working/show hunter. :)

  • How much would you sell this horse for? GBP £?

a beautiful 7 year old, 17hh Dutch Warmblood, chestnut gelding. He has 3 beautiful paces and excellent conformation

He works on a lovely outline in a simple snaffle and is a joy to ride. He carries himself beautifully in all paces.

He has been schooled very well. He is still a tad green with jumping though he has proven to have a big bold jump. Has jumped good sized fences at home.

He has been XC schooling and took everything in his stride. He is very willing and always wants to please.

He has done some hacking out and was very steady. Has seen many tractors etc and has never batted an eye.

oozes potential and will easily make a fantastic dressage horse or eventer. He will also do very well in the show ring

as a working hunter or show hunter. I have no doubt this horse will excel in what ever he turns his hoof too.

Really a one in a million type! Very hard to come by. Never sick or sorry.

Heartbreaking sale of a much loved horse. For sale through no reason of his own. I am a very small teenage rider and he has sadly gotten to big for me. Will make someone very happy! 5* home only.

Comes with all tack and rugs inc a fitted Barnsby saddle.

I'm in England so £ would be lovley :)

  • Bit advice for Dressage?

I'm starting my pony out in dressage this year. she is a great show pony, but with me being 18 I can't show her so I'm starting dressage with her.

Being a show pony she has been in a strait bar pelham with a port in the middle, with a leather curb chain and lip strap. I also use double reins not roundings.

She goes so nicely in it and really works well but obviously it's not dressage legal until Elementary or something.

Any advice on bits I could try with perhaps a similar action?

In the past I have ridden her in a plain eggbut snaffle, loose ring snaffle, french link snaffle and hanging cheek snaffle and she never goes as well as she does in the pelham. Typical lol.

    Any Help? Thanks :)

  • Printing jobs just getting stuck in the queue. Help?!?

Okay so I try printing off a document and it says printing, nothing happens. So I went to the printer queue and it says printing but it's clearly not, I've tried waiting but nothing. So when I click cancel/delete it gets stuck. If I pause the printer, go into services and then restart the printer spooler then go back it's not cleared but it does delete. Then if I try printing again it just does the same thing.

Re booting does nothing. It did print the alignment page earlier but nothing since. It's driving me crazy and I need to get things printed.

Will I really have to reinstall it all? I don't know if I can find the Lexmark Software CD?

Oh and I'm using Windows 7. (really think they could have fixed this by now)

    Thanks x

  • Anybody show/shown whistlers/roarers?

Hey. I was just wondering if anybody here has every successfully show a horse who whistles or roars. As in noises made when breathing for anyone who didn't know. :)

I have a 17hh Hunter Type. I am aware he will probably never go much further than county level. He has stunning paces and a very bold jump. He would make a perfect working hunter when he is trained up a bit.

The noise he makes is purely superficial and does not effect him in a physical way.

Anyone ever had any experiences? :)

    p.s I'm from England ;)

  • Horse keeps jumping out the field. Help?

I have a 17hh 6 year old. He is a big lad and he keeps jumping over the electric fencing into the mares field next door to him. He is in the field with my friends mare who he adores. He didn't have a problem until now. It doesn't matter if the electric is high or not cause he is clean jumping over it.

He causes riot in the mares field chasing them etc but I can't leave him stabled all day cause he gets very unsettled being in the stable block on his own. There is no horse I can leave with him cause my pony is nannying another youngster who will jump out the stable.

Also I can't move fields cause all our fields are like split with electric fencing. It is really just one huge field split up.

    Any help?!

  • any good "show" name ideas?! :)?

when I say "show" I just mean like a fancy nick name cause tbh my show pony's registered name is just Lucy so I just enter her as that even if it's not quite as posh as some others.

I only want one for things like my youtube background etc. Those on youtube will know what I mean... I hope. :)

    Lucy

    14hh

    flea bitten grey

    very pretty

    Dam: Star of the East

    Sire: White Kharn

I know White Star is an obvious one but I would rather have Lucy in it somewhere.

    Thanks. x

  • Any experience with Hobdaying?

I have been to see a horse a couple of times now and he is perfect in every way.

He will make a very good working hunter and eventer. He is only 6 :)

However he whistles when he canters/gets into faster work. I know it's most probably his larynx (sorry idk how to spell it). It's so slight and my yard manager who has lots of experience says it shouldn't be too much of a problem but he may need hobdaying in the future.

    Anyone had experience with this?

Do horses normally make a full recovery.

Oh I will be getting him vetted just wanted your experiences.

I could just pass by this horse but he is too perfect. I really have fallen for him :)

    Thanks

  • Can a senior ride ponies side-saddle?

Just wondering if a senior can ride a pony side-saddle in the show ring or if same rules apply?

She is a PBA for anyone wondering. I am too old to ride her astride in the show ring next year as a show pony/ridden pony. Although I'm hoping to have a little friend show her for me :)

    Im in England btw!

    Thanks x

  • How can I paint my pony to look like a zebra?

I know it may sound odd but how can I paint my pony to look like a zebra? She is going in a fancy dress class as racing stripes and I wanted to know of a safe way to paint her which will wash out easily.

She is grey so I would need to paint black stripes on.

    Thanks :)

  • Anyone ever had this? Any help?

I have a 14HH mare. I know she is a typical mare and is really stubborn. She always puts in cheeky bucks and has that kind of personality.

But when it comes to jumping her owner told me if she doesn't want to jump it you'll have a hard time persuading her too, but when she does jump it's amazing. She could do sooo well.

Here's the thing though. I can take her XC and she will fly and Open course better than half the warmbloods and TB's out there. Doesn't even think about stopping. My DP is her at our last xc comp. Keep in mind she is only 14hh ;)

But as soon as I'm in the school or out showjumping she won't have any of it and I have a hard time even keeping her going never mind jumping.

She doesn't care if I kick, squeeze, use the crop or anything. It's so odd.

So anyone ever had this problem and over come it?

    Thanks :) x

  • Part Bred Arab showing classes. Do you think she would do well?

I have never done a part bred arab class before. She is 14hh and newforest cross arab.

I didn't know whether she is araby enough lol.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EhuPaXsOD8

She normally does ridden pony/ridden show pony type classes.

Is show pony turnout still correct? I think it is?

    Thanks :)

  • What would you, want/want to do, when you go on holiday?

What sort of activity would you love to do on a holiday.

A holiday in the UK. Not abroad.

It has to be realistic but money being no object.

    It can include the sea/beach.

NOT including theme parks, dry ski slopes etc, outdoor pool with slides etc, arcades.

    Any age group/market.

    Think outside the box ;)

    Thanks :)

  • Changing my ponies bit. Any suggestions?

My pony is currently ridden in a normal jointed eggbut snaffle. She goes okay in it. However I am starting dressage with her this year.

I have been schooling her a lot. I need her to work on more of an outline and listen to me more. I tried an eggbut with a french link and it didn't make any difference really.

Whatever bit I use needs to be dressage legal and I wouldn't mind something slightly stronger as she can be harder in the downward transitions. However it is mainly to encourage her to work on a better outline.

Please no "just keep schooling her in your current bit". I have been schooling in this bit for a year and a half now.

    Thanksss :)

  • New team name needed. any ideas?

so. there is 14 of us who all do Eventing. We all used to be at the same yard so our name was the name of our yard. But we have all moved to different yards for various reasons so we need a new team name. We do sometimes compete in teams sometimes in case you were wondering :)

We are all girls (but don't feel the need to make it girly) and all have our own horses and we will be having it printed on jackets etc along with our names and horses names.

    Thanksss :D

  • Tips for stopping my horse refusing?

I just wanted to know if any of you have had any problems in the past and have overcome it using a certain method...

thing is. I have a 14.1hh pony. She is a very capable jumper, when she jumps she flies.

But she can often make it really hard work for me and puts in pretty nasty stops. I don't over jump her, she jumps maybe twice a week tops. I do a lot of flat, pole work and hacking.

I carry a crop but she doesn't seem to care if I use it or not.

And also when she gets out on a xc course she flies and barley looks at any of the jumps.

She was trained correctly. I have been working really hard on my riding skills but it doesn't seem to matter how well I ride.

It's just a shame because she has a lovley jump and has some really good days.

    any help? :)

  • Would I be okay on a 18hh ID?

I am 17 almost 18 and I currently have a 14.2hh pony. She does SJ, Dressage XC etc.

I am looking for another horse and I have come across an 18hh ID which sounds perfect for me. Thing is I am only 5ft 2. :)

    I do ride bigger horses. I ride a 15.2hh and a 16.2hh. And I'm experienced.

I just want to know if I will look completely ridiculous. :)

    Thanks

  • Is there a way to stop horse box walking?

My sisters TB mare box walks very badly. She has started getting worse in the morning and ends up dripping in sweat by the time we get up to the stables. She is stabled around plenty of other horses.

Is there any way to stop her doing this?

    Thanks
