I delete most of my answers. The homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism, and (although somewhat trivial) rockism on R&P is disgusting. I am a young person with terrible opinions. Let's start a free-improv collective! "One nation, under Based God . . . " "In Based God we trust." etc.
Which musicians do you think know a lot about genres of music that aren't their own?
I listen to a lot of different genres, and I wonder whether various musicians listen to diverse music as well. I'm sure that most musicians know a lot about the genre that they play, and other related genres, but do you think, say, David Bowie listens to underground rap? Do you think Lou Reed could tell you the difference between death metal and black metal? Could Chuck D tell me his favorite pre-war blues musicians?
Which musicians seem the most knowledgeable about other genres of music? Any sources/quotes that explain why?
Which musicians seem the least knowledgeable?
I think Bob Dylan seems like he knows a lot about music. Maybe not obscure European metal bands and obscure electronic music, but he seems like he listens to a lot of genres. His radio show had some pretty diverse music, including rap, soul, and of course early country/blues/folk.
BQ: Favorite extreme metal bands? I'm trying to get into the genre/genres.
5 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoR&P: Who is your favorite blind musician . . .?
. . . whose last name isn't Charles or Wonder?
I'd say Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Blind Willie Johnson, Reverend Gary Davis or Blind Lemon Jefferson.
BQ: Favorite member of the J.B.'s?
BA: Maceo Parker or Bootsy Collins. Lets see how many of us get the reference.

"If you play more than two chords, you're showing off." -Woody Guthrie
4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoCan somebody tell me the name of this Japanese film trilogy?
I know little about the films, but I'm pretty sure they're from the 40's, 50's or 60's. They tell the story of a pacifist, Marxist farmer I think. Much thanks.
