i need help solving these two identities, my brain is fried and i don;t know how to proceed

sin x (cot x + tan x) = sec x

and

1 - sin^2 u/1 - cos u

also i want to see if i got this problem right

9 sec^2 x - 5 tan^2 x = 5 +4 sec^2 x

4 sec^2 x +5 sec^2 - tan^2 x

5 + 4 sec^2 x = 5 + 4 sec^2 x

the whole thing stared like this at the beginning from last year i found out that the guy i was seeing and talking to was seeing and talking to this girl also which it made me very mad, and of course i was hurt and so for the other girl. Anyways after all this the girl n i exchanged numbers to forward each other (i know big mistake) what he was telling us and blah blah. She added me in facebook and i accept her. and last but not least when they "broke up" she told me the whole bullshit why they broke up and blah blah a wk later they were back.. like seriously i care less if they broke up probably she thinks that makes her look "nice" by telling me that like what the heck this getting kinda of annoying so what you guys think?? and no its not a coincidence.

i did this---- 5cm/1min * 60min/100cm * 1m/1hr

2nd problem- 1qt/min=____gal/week

how do i get to weeks for both..

i need help with conversions......i am confused and i dont know if i am right or wrong.....i did this

problem #1 = 5km to cm

5km =1000m/1km * 100cm/1000m =500,000,000cm

problem #2= 2880min to days

2880min=1hr/60min * 1day/24hr =2880/1440=2days

problem # 3= 50hrs to min

50hrs=60sec/1min * 60min/1hr =3600/50=72min

problem #4= 3 weeks to hrs

for this one am been honest i dont know how to set up.....
