  • Wifi turn on problem?

My laptop recently crashed and I had to reinstall windows again. But the one I used to reinstall was windows 7 ultimate which I bought. The one on my laptop was preinstalled as an OEM which I belie e was modified for some additional options. Before I could turn on my WiFi using fn-f3. But since I reinstalled windows I no longer have that option. I already installed the drivers for the WiFi and it is the right version. I don't have a physical switch. The hotkey was the only option but now I can't use it. Windows mobility also doesn't give the option as button is not usable. It says turn on WiFi but I can't select it. It doesn't work. How can I turn on thee WiFi. Is there an app. I don't want to have to bring it back to the manufacturs and have them install the OEM because I LST all the I stallers for all my games and apps. So if I reinstall I lose everything, and if that's the only way then I would rather use 3g broadband. How can I turn it on. It says device work properly in panel

  • Is it hard to learn to design Apps for Android?

I am 17 at the moment. I am taking CS as my course, soi know some basic programming. My question is is it hard tolearn how to program for android, or can it be learnt like in a month or two, or does it require years of experience. Im talking 'bout programming apps like simple games or other apps that are more complex than simple file managers, but not as complex as stuff like temple run.

  • What are the types of math involved in these courses!?

I Suck at math. And when i say suck, i don't mean suck as in "oh i get low grades in calculus", i mean suck as in "Staring blankly at the professor during Calculus, because my brain ceased up". I can do Some algebra and Trigonometry, but when it comes to Stuff of similiar Difficulty to Calculus, that is where i completely fail. So my question is which of these X courses have the least math, but more importantly what type of math is involved. If it involves Calculus I then i might be able to pass, but anything harder is simply zero-success. Also could someone explain in detail what jobs i could get from these courses and how hard the course will be. These are the Courses i have chosen:

    1) Information Technology

    -This was my Primary Choice

    2) 3D Animation

    -This is my Second Choice

-I know this involves trigonometry and stuff like Matrices, Vertices, and Physics. im ok with that as long as there's no super-advanced Algebra or Calculus

    3) Computer Science

-I know this involves a little Algebra and Trigonometry

Which of these would be the hardest and which on would suit me more. Im good at drawing and using Computer programming Software (Designed some simple Terminal programs with C++). Ive also got some (By some i mean a week or 2) experience with 3DS Max and CryEngine 3. I also am quite fond of Electronics and can somewhat design simple Circuits. So overall what are the math subjects involved in each course, what type of jobs can i get, and which is better suited for me. It's only Math i have a problem with. im ok with everything else in the course. I also prefer a computer type course which is why i selected the 3 above.

  • are these good computer specs?

I am trying to build a desktop computer for gaming (on very high to Ultra settings) on games like GTA V (once PC version released) Crysis 2/, FC3 and others like that. These are the 2 rigs ive decided down to:

    Rig 1:

    CPU: i7-4770

    GPU: GTX 780 (2304 CUDA Cores/3GB GDDR5)

    Mobo: AsRock Z87 Pro 3

    RAM: 16GB Ripjaws 1600MHz 2x8GB

    HDD: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    HDD2: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    SSD: Intel SSD 240GB

    Monitor: 1600x900 HD

    PSU: Thermaltake SMART 730W

    Rig 2:

    CPU: i7-4770K

    GPU: GTX 780 (2304 CUDA Cores/3GB GDDR5)

    Mobo: MSI Z87-G45Gaming

    RAM: 16GB 1866MHz Genesis

    HDD: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    HDD2: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    SSD: Intel SSD 240GB

    Monitor: 1600x900 HD

    PSU: Thermaltake TougpowerXT 875W

    Rig 3:

    CPU: i7-4770K

    GPU: GTX Titan (2688 CUDA Cores/6GB GDDR5)

    Mobo: MSI Z87-G45Gaming

    RAM: 16GB 1866MHz Genesis

    HDD: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    HDD2: 1TB WD Blue Sata

    SSD: Intel SSD 240GB

    Monitor: 1600x900 HD

    PSU: Thermaltake TougpowerXT 875W

Is the third rig really worth the extra $500? Or is the 1st one good enough? I mean someone said i could just add another GTX780 in SLI which will give %80 more performance. The second rig is simply the same as rig 1 except it has an unlocked CPU and uses OC DDR3 RAM. Everything else is the same. Which one is best in the performance-to-price ratio?

  • Laptop BIOS in different laptop?

have a acer v3-471G (i7, GT640M)! I am planning on using a Modded BIOS for the GT640M that clocks it at 810MHz instead of 620MHz! But this BIOS mod is for the v3-571 series! I have the v3-471G which is the 14" version instead of the 15.6" v3-571 version! Since the only difference i read is the screen size, will the v3-571 BIOS update (mod) work in my v3-471? Also how can i back up my BIOS and is there any way to restore it if it goes wrong? I heard on the BIOS thread that it was for the v3 series GT640, but they only mentioned the v3-571! This is the site:

    http://forum.techinferno.com/acer/1846-acer-aspire...

Is it possible to use the BIOS of the 15.6" laptop in the 14" version? The only difference is screen size...specs like processor and GPU are same

  • How to overclock Laptop CPU and GPU?

I don't care 'bout possible damages to Hardware, Heat Output, Instability, Quantum Mechanics etc., I just want a list of ways or programs that can overclock the laptops CPU, and GPU... I have a GT640M, and an i7-3610QM! I already know about the possible problems and heat sinks, so i don't want answers saying "It's too dangerous", or "You can't because they aren't designed! Quite a few people managed to overclock theirs so i know it's possible! I don't have the options in my BIOS, so it'll have to be through software, or a custom BIOS! My laptop is the Acer V3-471G i7 and GT640M version!

  • Intel Iris Pro or discrete Graphics?

I have heard that the new intel graphics has a performance around the GT 640M! If so does that mean that the HD 5200 will be better than a GT640M with 2GB GDDR5? Because the HD 5200 only has 128MB EDRAM, compared to the 2GB of GDDR5? How about compared to GT 650M or GTX 660?

  • Switch laptop processor............?

I have a MSI laptop with an i3-3110m in socket form! I also have a laptop with a i7-3610QM also in socket form! I did research and found that the i3 and i7 use the same socket and voltages! The MSI laptop also has a exact same version with an i7. So can i put the i7 in my i3 MSI as a better CPU! Do i need a BIOS upgrade? The heatsink in the MSI can support it because the same mobo and heatsink are used in the i7 version! But can the BIOS support it or did the manufacturer lock it or is there any problems with swapping the processors? All i know is the mobo and heatsink supports the i7! Also is it worth waiting for a Haswell processor for my desktop rig or will ivy bridge do? I dont use integrated graphics, only discrete graphics!

  • Upgrade i3 to i7..........?

I have a MSI GE60 ONC i3 version! It has an i3-3110m! I am planning to switch the i3 with an i7 that i have in my other Acer laptop!

The processor i plan to switch with is an i7-3610QM!

Now the MSI laptop that i have also has a same version that uses an i7-3630 instead, same mobo, same fan same everything except for the processor! So i think the fan should support an i7-3610QM!

Soo i can get a comp repair place to switch the msi's i3-3110m to an i7-3610QM!

The i3 and i7 i have both use the same socket, form factors!

The MSI laptop has an exact same version but with an i7! So it should support it! Can i switch the i3 with the i7 i have?

    These the two processors:

    i7-3610QM (New one!)

    i3-3110M (Old one!)

  • Best gaming laptop from these 2!?

I have narrowed down my choice of laptops to two viable version! Ironically they are both the same brand, and model, but differ in specs and price! Which one of these 2 would be the best at playing games like BF3, Just Cause 2, Crysis 3 etc. at high to ultra (possibly medium if low FPS happens) settings? And no, i cannot get a desktop...because of my mobility! And anything more expensive than ~$900 is out-of-the-question! So between these 2 which is better! I cannot buy online either because my countries custom tax is too high!

    Laptop 1)

    Lenova Ideapad Y500

    -Intel Core i5-3230M (2C/4T @ 2.6 GHz, upto 3.2 GHz)

-6GB DDR3 1333 MHz ( I have 2x Spare 4GB DDR3 modules at home so ignore the amount of RAM cause i have spare!)

-Dual NVIDIA GT650M in SLI configuration (4GB GDDR5)

    -1TB SATA 5400rpm HDD

    -15.6" Full HD LED Display

    -Windows 8

    PRICE: $899

    Laptop 2)

    Lenova Ideapad Y500 (also)

-Intel Core i7-3630QM (2.4 GHz, upto 3.4 GHz)

    -8GB DDR3 1333 MHz

    -NVIDIA GT750M (2GB GDDR5)

    -1TB SATA HDD + 16GB mSSD

    -15.6" HD LED Display

    -Windows 8

    PRICE: $843

I want to play games at high-ultra settings most of the time! The Dual 650m SLI ranked #35 in notebook bencmark, whereas the 750m only scored ~#80! I am not a multiplayer type person so is an i5 enough? I heard it's mostly the GPU to focus on in single-player games!
