  • Micro antivirus 2009 ?

My boss has this on her computer and I can't get rid of it. I've been on about 3 million websites telling me how to get rid of it, but most of them require you to edit the registry etc - the only problem is since she's got this virus it won't let me open task manager or the registry or anything that I need to get into! I downloaded a free scan and removal tool and it gets to halfway through deleting all the infected files before I get the blue screen of death, the computer dies, and nothing gets deleted.

Has anyone had this and if so how did you get rid of it? Why can't I get task manager or anything up? Does anyone know of an easy removal tool I can download which will actually work?

    It's driving me mad!

  • Why has our server died?

Is there any reason why a server would switch off and not switch back on again?

I changed the fuses in the plugs but that didn't work, have switched it on and off at all the right buttons etc but I don't know why it won't turn on!

The server was very full (ie. no disk space left), is it possible that it just completely overloaded and died?

  • Can hear audio but not see video on cd?

I have a guy in work who is , to be polite, of the older generation, and can't work computers very well. He has an old computer, he says it's about 8 years old, and he got some CD from the water company or something which he wants to look at, but when he runs it on his computer he can hear the audio but can't see the video playing, it's just a blank screen. I'm no expert and if it was me i would just try updating drivers and have a nosey round the microsoft site or something to see what i could do, but can anyone tell me in simple terms exactly what is likely to be wrong with his computer and what he can do to fix it?

    Thanks!

  • Dog Problems?

My mum has two lurchers, one is a very boisterous domineering 3 yr old male and the other is a calm timid 7 yr old female. She used to have a daschund/jack russel cross which lived with the lurchers in their run until it died not long ago at the age of 16. Since the daschund died the male lurcher has begun bullying the female, won't let her eat her food, won't let her sleep in the big bed and generally snaps and bosses her about, he bit her on the head a couple of days ago, don't know the reason why.

Do any of you dog experts know why he has turned nasty towards her and what our best course of action is?

  • Does uric acid give meat it's flavour?

My boss has been at a seminar with Tony Robbins and he has said that it's the uric acid in meat that gives it its flavour, and that the smell and taste is actually pee and poo that has been left in the animals bloodstream when it was killed.

    Is this true?

  • What's Wrong with my Gold Gourami?

Hiya, I had two one year old gouramis and one died last week, the other one seemed ok but on Monday it was lying on it's side struggling for breath, I thought it would be dead inside an hour or two but it's still alive and I don't know what to do! I had it in a seperate wee tank so the other fish wouldn't eat it etc so it could die in peace but it hasn't and I feel really bad now cos I don't know what to do to help it - I've scoured the net to try to find out whats wrong but to no avail.

Can anyone give me any ideas of how I can help it?

  • Peugeot 306 Making Wierd Noise?

Hi I have a '97 306 1.9d, it recently had a new alternator fitted, but now the car's making a really loud noise. It started with a faint sort of noise which i thought was the wind blowing through it cos it sounded like wind blowing through metal, now its really loud and instead of sounding like a diesel car running it sounds like someone pushing a shopping trolly across tarmac, and when I'm driving it sounds like an electric car.

It's really hard to explain but does anyone have any idea what this might be?

  • Why have my rams lost their colour?

I have two rams in a 10ltr tank with 3 platys, 1 molly and 2 corys, my rams used to be bright gold and yellow but they have faded and become pale. Just over a week ago I had to treat my tank for whitespot, recently i had added 3 rummynose tetras and they became covered in it and died, although the other fish weren't really affected too much by it, are the rams just stressed or are they ill?

  • Need Help with Outlook Express?

Hiya, my boss has tried to send 413 large photos attached to an email in outlook express and her computer has given up, outlook exp won't open now without freezing everything. I tried disconnecting her from the network so that it wouldnt try to send the email in the hope that would stop it freezing so i could just delete it but that didn't work, as I say as soon as I open outlook express it just stops.

What can I do to get rid of this email?

  • First Aid at Work?

I have been the only first aider at work now for about 2 years, I don't get any extra pay or anything for doing it. I have just been told that I must stay in work at all times (during lunchbreaks etc) when other staff can come and go as they please - because I am the only first aider in a building which has about 40 people in it (only around 10 of these people are staff, the rest are trainees)

Can my employer do this? Surely it's their responsibility to make sure there is a first aider around all the time, not mine?

  • Siamese Fighter Problem?

This might be a bit long winded but bear with me - Yesterday I bought two mollies and a siamese fighting fish to add to my 3 month old tank, I already had 2 red rams, 4 platies and 3 leopard catfish in there. I had read a lot online that siamese fighters are fine along with other fish as long as there are no other fighters in there, and the woman in the fish shop told me there would be no problems - but a few hours after adding them to the tank my male ram had destroyed the fighters tail and was absolutely torturing him so I put the ram into a seperate wee tank on his own for a while to let the siamese fighter establish himself, but then the siamese fighter started trying to eat my mollies so I swapped and put him into the tank on his own and let the ram out. Everyone was getting on fine and I left them overnight like this, but I got up this morning and one of my platies is dead! What's going on???? Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do?

  • Leopard Catfish?

Hi, I have a tank which is about 50litres in size, I bought a Leopard Catfish last week but have since read a lot online that says that they should be kept in shoals of around 5 fish? Is this true? Would it be ok to keep just 2?

The woman in the fish shop didnt tell me this and I wouldnt have bought it if I had known I had to keep so many of them as I dont particularly want to fill my wee tank with catfish no matter how pretty they are!
