  • What is the specific financial requirement to apply for a regular UK visit visa for a Bahraini?

It is short term for visiting and staying with friends. I understand that there is a bank statement involved, however how much should the account show.

The french embassy have a requirement of BD 60 per day of intended stay. Is there anything like that in the UK visa?

Let me know if you need any more information.

  • Pros of getting a chevy malibu 2.4 basic option 2014?

As opposed to a hyundai 1.8 full option 2014

  • Chevy malibu or Hyundai elentra?

Which would you invest in and why? You live in the middle east and weather is crazy hot but the landscape is smooth to drive in.

Elentra is 1.8 full option 2014

Malibu is 2.4 basic option 2014

Both are the same price. Im leaning towards 2.4 but my immediate network believe Chevys are not reliable.

    Your opinion?

  • Opinion on Mazda 3 1.6L Hatchback 2015?

This will be my first car. The mazda is full option, and my budget is exactly this car's price. However, the 1.6 is what's preventing me from making my decision. I currently use a galant 2.4L 2008 and I felt the difference while test driving the mazda. Speed and power is not an issue for me as I do not speed on the highway however I am worried about getting away from crazy drivers when we have to make quicker moves. This may be irritating to me, however I could possibly be over-thinking it. What is your take on this?

  • Any social businesses in Saudi Arabia?

Trying to look at whether there are social businesses around Saudi (KSA), doesn't matter where. If they have a website, that would be great. What I mean is they should be a normal business with some sort of csr initiative where they directly give donations/items to charity, and not simply sponsor someone to do it. I want to see how the business works.

  • How to avoid bulking up while on whey protein and working out?

Basics: 78 kg, 161 cm, female, 23 years old.

I began the insanity workout (6 days workout a week) and I try to maintain regular eating so that I dont have to undergo a big change in my diet once Im done. I only finished 1 week insanity and I feel that im not losing weight. (im also doing machine rows for two weeks only) and i noticed that the areas around my back shoulders and neck are getting tighter, like a body builder feel.

In case thats the beginnings of bulking up, i wanted to tackle this problem head on. So Im starting to monitor my intake to only 2200 calories a day but I noticed I really need to take in proteins so I decided to get whey protein, which I will use to make tasteful shakes. However Im afraid this will add to the bulking.

I notice that this post is very vague. Let me know what you think of my approach and/or what I could do differently.

  • Budget tour agencies, Cairo. Recommend any?

Three star hotels won't be bad. Train or bus rides work as well.

If the agency is close to Tahrir, Maadi or Zamalek, or anywhere near these places, it would be easier.

The clients are non-residents visiting Cairo for the first time but they are Arabs. They are students and that is why they can only do budget trips.

    Any other info needed?

  • Othman Tours, Cairo, Is it a reliable agency?

Hi all, I stumbled upon an agency downtown close to the Egyptian museum. We inquired about a package to Aswan Luxor from Cairo and back. It included Hotel and transport. It was 1700 EGP. To me this was a good deal. So I was wondering whether this agency can be trusted as two of my friends who are both female will be traveling alone and I am quite worried.

I will appreciate the feedback. Thank you

  • Is it ethical to give money to an employee/student?

Example: You work in an NGO that provides training to youth and at the same time pays them for their work. One of your youth members has gotten into trouble and is suspended without pay for two weeks. But this individual does not have a place to stay or family. So you, as the head of a department, give this member money to find a motel, even after being advised by coworkers not to interfere. The member pays you back later and you become friends.

Was the act of giving money ethical? Explain.

  • Alternative for pepper spray?

I will be going back to Egypt and well .. it's Egypt.

I was thinking of getting Pepper Spray from the States but I really don't want to get into any legal issues, since it is illegal to have those type of weapons in Egypt.

I've heard that wasp or buy spray can be as effective but can have permanent damage. Again, I don't want to get into any legal issues.

So is there another alternative to pepper spray? Or any sort of self defense weapon that does not require stabbing or myself going close to an attacker?

I would settle for deodorant if that's effective.

    Thank you.

  • I can't open folders/locations on my HP laptop. How do I fix that?

I haven't had this problem before. All of a sudden one day every time I try to open a folder, it stays frozen blank before it shows what's in it. The same happens when I try to open 'My documents', 'Computer' and stuff like that. And this causes my desktop to freeze. I use Firefox to browse the internet but works fine for the internet. But for normal browsing of files on my computer i think it's the windows explorer that has a problem.
