  • pocketknife deadly weapon?

i recently got stopped on the street and bag searched and the cop's found a keyring pocketknife attached to my keys in my backpack and a carton cutter in my pocket that i use to open my post parcels now i'm being charged for having knives's in public, when i checked other cases people were charged for folding scissors and penknives is this ridiculous or what? i'm not a crim and haven't hurt anyone in my life, is this the new revenue raiser for the cop's (who carry guns and tasers). wheres the duty of care? as ridiculous as it sounds shouldn't these items (that have obviously been made to be carried on the person and sold as such) be stopped at the point of sale? i grew up in the country where every man and his dog had a pocketknife on his belt. by these laws it's also illegal to carry a leather-man or Swiss army knife, the majority of people use these items as tools for which they have been made. i haven't killed anyone and don't plan to can the cop's give the same guarantee? bloody hypocrites i say
