they usually want to hide right, My dog wants to go for a walk when something scares her. Last night is sit and watch her shake and pant, or walk her around the neighborhood until the fireworks stopped. She calmed down as soon as we started walking, took her home and she sat infront of the door, shaking, wanting to walk again. Anyone else every seen this?

  • What do you say?

Today was a hard day, there was a school shooting at Reynolds High School in my area, several of my friends called me "how do you deal with a shooting at your school". They had graduated from that school, and knew i had been through it Thurston High School Gard '77, Mr. Kinkile was my spanish teacher.

Okay it gets worse, last year with the Clackamas Town Center Shooting (my sister knew i did my christmas shopping there, text are you home, are you okay..\

Now today I have had several friends ask (it was their school) how do you deal with it. (They know i went to THS). What do I tell them, I'll never forget the moment i heard about the shooting at THS, every time I hear about a school shooting, I remember it. It happened at my school it can happen anywhere, THS was one of the first that makes it worse for me. But what do I tell them?

you get a text i'm okay, are you okay the first thing you do is think shooting. it never goes away, 15 years later, my sister texted me Home? Okay? the first thing I thought was a shooting somewhere I might have been.

What do i tell them the truth or it's okay move on.

  • what is the world coming too?

okay I'm not a dooms day person, but I went to Thuston Mr. Kinkel taught my Spanish class one of my class mates kid took Kip down.. Now tonight my favorite mall Clackamas Town Center had a shooter. Had I not had to wait for fed x, I would have been at the mall. My nieces BF worked at the mall. (he is okay). It's bad enough when one of your favorite places is shot up, but two makes you really start to question people.

  • Could your dog be hit by a car?

I fell sorry for people when their pets are hit by a car, but I also feel they are bad owners. My dogs are in the house or in our fenced yard. Never on the street. Could your dog be hit by a car?

  • Yorkie front leg issues?

My 7 year old yorkie went off to potty before getting in the car today. She took about three steps on the sidewalk and would not use her left front leg.

Picked her up ad checked the leg nothing poking, and no pain on touching. Maybe not the best choice but I went to the board meeting for the dog food bank I run. She seemed fine during the meeting, when we got home she seemed to be limping again. Vet first thing tomorrow, but anyone have any clues. I'm thinking may be a knee issues (I know it is usually back knees), She was a BYB dog that I rescued after 4 years in a crate 24/7. to rehome, after a month I took to a yappy hour, walked in a owned it greeting ever dog and person in sight, okay she was the dog for me. She works a booth at a trade show like a pro, when she wears out sleeps in the bed and gets even more attention. "Is it a really dog" petting and she still sleeps.

I yell vet now, so don't assume I won't do the same for my dog. She is on a Banfield wellness plan ( only with the right vet and her vet is great) If she is still limping tomorrow morning we will be at the vet when they open.

She seems fine tonight, I know these dogs can have issue with back legs, can they be front legs as well?

  • Have you seen this before at a dog event?

Today at a dog event at the dog park I saw something I'm never seen before. Doggy snow cones, it was 98 degrees, shaved ice with either beef or chicken broth (rather than syrup. I do 50 + events a year (3 years) and I've never seen this before. What a COOL idea.

  • Why do deleted questions keep showing up on Yahoo Answers?

It is really frustrating that deleted questions show up after answering a question. Right now all three of the Can You Answer This? are deleted questions. That can't be answered.

Why when questions are flagged and removed do they just not go away. Frustrating.

  • Dog circut closed to insiders?

I have offered to add agility, confirmation, and other dog show events to our event calendar at FidosCityGuide.com, What I get from most of these group is a link to the AKC event calendar which is focused on the person showing the dog. Not the person that wants to learn more about the sport, or just wants to come watch.

There are no hours listed, often no address, no visitor information. A few really great events (Rose City Classic) are interested in getting people there to find out more information.

My question is why are the rest of you so closed and focused on your own group rather than expanding and enhancing the event?

  • Pit Bull and Chihuahua owners? Why do they insist on breeding?

Is it just me or does it seem to others that pit bull and Chihuahua owners are the most irresponsible dog owners out there. What is it about these two breeds that the owners just have to breed them, and refuse to get them spay/neutered?

You go to a shelter and almost half the dogs there are Pit or Chihuahua mixes yet people insist on breeding them, I don't understand. Is there something about these breeds that attracts irresponsible people?

Please don't misunderstand I am not saying all Pit Bull and Chihuahua owners are irresponsible (I have a chihuahua). I'm just saying I see far more questions on here about breeding Pit Bulls and Chihuahuas than any other breed.
