I am a 25-year-old SAHM of 2 little ones in Michigan. Our son, Caden, is 4 1/2 and our daughter, Ella Larue, is 2 1/2. I LOVE to knit, read and watch movies (AFTER the kids are in bed, of course!)

  • What are the differences between the Constitution, Dec. of Independence & Articles of Confederation?

I have a political science class and know NOTHING about government. I have read the assigned chapters and can state obvious details about each, but what are the DIFFERENCES between all of them, including the Bill of Rights, as well. ANY help will be much appreciated!

  • Where can I find monogrammed initials to print and trace for a cake?

I am making a cross-shaped, fondant-covered cake for a little girl's church dedication tomorrow. It also will have a bit of luster dust on it and shimmery white ribbon around the bottom edges. I would like to put her monogrammed initials on the center of the cross. I am looking for a website to print off FREE monogrammed initials to cover with wax paper and trace with white chocolate. ANY help will be GREATLY appreciated!

  • How to connect pieces of fondant on a cake?

I am making a cross-shaped cake for a baby's dedication at church and I am not completely sure how to connect pieces of fondant without showing a seam. I don't want to use icing borders or anything to cover it, either. It is going to be a cross-shaped cake with white fondant, luster dust, shimmery white ribbon around the bottom and her monogrammed initials on the front/center. ANY help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Any themed ideas for a pre-school end-of-school-year picnic?

  • What dish(es) to make for a pre-school end-of-school-year picnic?

I have my son's end-of-school-year picnic next Thursday night and each family was asked to bring 2 dishes to pass around. I am going to make a version of a veggie pizza with crescent roll crust, ranch sour cream, cheese and veggies. But I don't know what else to bring that is in dish-form for a picnic that is not already taken by other parents. Any serious ideas are greatly appreciated.

  • Soda giving me heartburn all of a sudden...?

I have NEVER had heartburn except during both pregnancies. All of a sudden, since about last week, I have been getting bad heartburn whenever I drink any kind of soda. NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT. There is no way I could be (my hubby and I would have to have sex for that to happen!!) and I have taken a test anyway, with neg results.

What else could be causing this sudden heartburn from soda?

  • What is the song used in the Kia Spectra commercial?

The commercial is the one where the drivers keep pulling up to the gas pumps on the wrong side of the car. The song goes..."Guess I'm gonna give up. Oooooohhh, guess I'm gonna give up." Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have it stuck in my head now and I don't seem to be having any luck searching for it online.

  • Questions about the HESI nursing admission assessment test??

Has anyone here taken the HESI test? I have heard so many things about it...some people say that the test uses nothing from the study guide and some say that everything from the study guide is tested. I was mostly wondering how much chemistry/biology is tested and what level (high school or college).

I am studying with the HESI Nursing Admission Assessment Study Guide and my test is on Tuesday, April 8th.

  • Percentages to decimals? Is the answer key incorrect?

I am studying for my HESI test (nursing admissions) and I am brushing up on my math. I think perhaps the answer key may be incorrect unless I am doing something wrong. The book says:

    Change these percentages to decimals:

    1. 58% (answer is .58)

    2. 76.3% (answer is .763)

    3. .03% (I would think that the correct answer would be .0003, but the answer key says that the correct answer is 3)

Am I doing something wrong or is the key incorrect? Please help and explain if I am doing something wrong?

  • I'm looking for a good "friendship quote" for a tattoo...?

My best friend, Holly, and I have birthdays exactly a week apart. We thought, perhaps, that this year we would go together and get tattoos. I have a lot of custom ink done and want something original and unique. I looked up quotes about friendship online, but cannot seem to find anything suitable. Anything different out there? It doesn't have to be a little short quote...length/size doesn't matter.

  • Is the name "Alice" out-dated for a little girl nowadays?

My late grandmother's name was Alice Larue. I used Larue as my daughter's middle name. I was thinking that, if we ever had another girl, we might name her Alice. Is that an out-dated name for a little girl nowadays or are the older names (Grace, Emma, Elizabeth, etc.) making a comeback?

  • Is "Tallulah" a silly name for a girl?

I have 2 children (1 boy and 1 girl) and am not pregnant for the 3rd time (YET), but - for future reference - I heard this little girl's name and thought it was cute. Is it a silly name? Would she get made fun of for it?

  • What's the strangest thing that you've used (or heard of) to treat diaper rash?

I have used athlete's foot cream (prescribed by our pediatrician) for our daughter's diaper rash when it seems that yeast is causing it. I also use and RECOMMEND an ointment called Bag Balm, which was recommended by a family friend. It is made for cows' udders and sold in the pet department of Wal-Mart and such, but works WONDERS! It will clear up a horrible diaper rash in a matter of hours.

I have heard of people using Monistat cream for yeasty diaper rashes, as well. I was just wondering what the strangest thing is that you have used or heard of to treat diaper rashes.

  • What could this mean? PLEASE HELP.?

I am a 25-year-old SAHM and I am having an excessive amount of bleeding during my period. I just completed my egg donor process about 2 weeks ago and have just gotten my first period since. All day today, I have been bleeding excessively. I'm sorry if this is TMI, but I need some answers. I have been using super-plus tampons and am STILL bleeding through the entire back-up pad. I have to change the tampon and pad more than once an hour. I remember hearing something that you shouldn't be bleeding through more than 1 pad per hour for more than 2 hours and am wondering what this could mean. I am also having some mild pain...NOT CRAMPS, just an annoying mild pain. Has anyone been an egg donor and had this happen afterwards? Is my body just trying to get back to normal or is something wrong? I tried to contact the fertility clinic I was an egg donor for, but got voicemail. Help?

  • What to get a friend who's expecting twins?

My friend just announced that she is having twins!! Yay! She already has an 18-month-old daughter, so she has loads of baby stuff. But I was wondering if there was anything special (specially made for multiples) that I could get for her? Any ideas?

  • How do I connect with a couple as a gestational carrier?

I am a SAHM of 2 little ones and would LOVE to be a gestational carrier for a loving and deserving couple. I am wondering how I should go about connecting with that couple. I have searched through the fertility clinic that I do my egg donation through and have also searched online, but to no success so far. I certainly don't want to print an ad in the classifieds or anything or post flyers around town!! What is a better way to go about this? And I understand that there are people out there who do not agree with this...you are completely entitled to your opinion. But I am not asking for those, please...I am asking for serious, legitimate suggestions. Thank you.

  • Has anyone here been a "gestational carrier"?

I am looking up information about being a "gestational carrier" and would like ANY input (FOR AND AGAINST) this particular topic so that I can see the positives and negatives before I make a decision. I definitely do NOT want to use my own eggs, but I would like to help a family have a biological child of their own. I come from a family with 5 adopted children, so I KNOW that adoption is an option, but I also know that their are couples out there who would like there own biological child and are not able to carry the baby full-term.

  • It hurts my heart to hear all these girls on the pregnancy forums considering abortion.?

All of these girls and women (some of which are only 16-17) are posting that they are freaking out about unplanned pregnancy and want to get abortions. It hurts me so much to hear someone talk like that when there are so many women (including myself) having difficulty conceiving. They act like abortion is a repercussion-free solve-all...that they can just go to the clinic, have an abortion and all will be well with the world once again because their "problem" has been solved. What are your feelings on this?
