Hi! Just your casual answerer who loves to help out and tell it like it is. I do a lot of math and ask a lot of questions about it, which is awful. I like all things James Bond and love being pumped up.
Extracted my files but the .iso is nowhere to be found?
I'm trying to get a game to work, however when I extract all of the parts of my download it doesn't reveal a setup.exe file or something similar. I don't get anything except some readme files, a couple of folders with parts of the game in them such as music, voices etc.
2 AnswersSoftware8 years agoConnecting guest account on Halo 4 Split screen Xbox Live?
I'm trying to connect the guest account so I can play split screen Xbox live matchmaking, however the guest account doesn't work. It displays the message 'requires a valid xbox live account' for the guest, my account is valid and can play perfectly well on its own, but it poops itself when I try to connect this guest. How do I fix this?
Thanks.
2 AnswersXbox8 years agoWhat sort of exercise should you do if you have a high resting heart rate?
I'm not sure if static exercise (weight lifting) or dynamic (jogging) exercise would be more beneficial or less risky for someone with a high resting heart rate.
I'm thinking static, since during static exercise you have an increase in Total Peripheral Resistance leading to less Cardiac Output necessary to increase Blood Pressure, since Cardiac output is influenced by Heart rate and stroke volume, you would want to have as small an increase in cardiac output as possible, relatively speaking so this would be a better way to go than dynamic exercise where you tend to see a decrease in Total Peripheral Resistance and thus a higher level of cardiac output happening.
2 AnswersMedicine9 years agoBlood on articular cartilage in joints?
If your synovial membrane tears, and you get blood flooding inside your synovial capsule and this gets onto the Hyaline cartilage on your joint, does it turn to bone?
1 AnswerMedicine9 years agoAre Synovial membranes in joints also serous membranes?
I know synovial membranes secrete synovial fluid into the synovial cavity, so does the fact that it's secreting this serum also make it a serous membrane?
2 AnswersMedicine9 years agoWhat is a Pairwise combination in genetics?
I'm not sure what it's referring to, I think it has something to do with creating a pair of mutant alleles, and example that I'm talking about is: "Coinfect E coli with all pairwise combination of the M13-10 mutant and the other nine M13 mutants at a high multiplicity".
What does this pairwise combinations business mean? Thanks very much!

1 AnswerBiology9 years agoitunes has stopped responding?
So every time I open my itunes, it freezes. I get a never ending spinning pinwheel and I have to force quit it to kill it. Even if I want to shut down the computer won't while itunes is open and not responding and my computer won't tell me anything about it. I'm on my mac and I'm not sure what to do about this.
Thanks guys!

The human rhesus blood group system is controlled by two alleles (D and d) of a single autosomal locus. The phenotype of the D allele, rhesus positive, is dominant. A population sample contains 75 rhesus positive and 25 rhesus negative individuals. Estimate the frequency of the D allele and then select the correct value from those listed below.
A: 0.25
B: 0.33
C: 0.50
D: 0.75
2 AnswersBiology9 years agoReliability question with probability?
A nuclear power station's cooling system is powered by a generator which has a reliability value of 0.999, if this fails, there is a second generator with a reliability value of 0.890. What is the reliability of the cooling at the power plant?
It's been a really long time since I've done questions like this (I'm tutoring), can anyone tell me how to do this? I know it has something to do with the probability of it failing initially is 0.001 and then the probability of the other one failing is 0.11 or whatever, but I'm not sure how to write this out.
At the end of the day I said that anything with a reliability value of 0.999 is going to work, but the girl i tutor wasn't too happy with that answer.
1 AnswerMathematics9 years agoQuesiton about Folic acid antagonists?
Why do some folic acid antagonists (eg: sulphonamides) exhibit selective toxicity for bacteria?
A: Most bacteria do not require folic acid for growth
B: Most bacteria are unable to synthesise folic acid
C: Humans are unable to synthesise folic acid
D: Humans do not possess hydrofolate reductase
I'm not sure what a folic acid antagonist is, or basically anything about this question. I've already been through my lecture notes, and know that humans can make folic acid and they have dihydrofolate reductase (since that's how they make it) and that only some bacteria are able to synthesise folic acid, I think the answer is A, since I think most bacteria can't make folic acid but grow just fine so they can't make it and don't require it.. for growth... Between A and B is where I'm confused.
Can someone help me out with this please?
1 AnswerBiology9 years agoTertiary Level Genetics Question?
In carrots the normal color of the root is orange. Two true breeding variant strains have been observed both of which produce yellow roots. When these true breeding strains are crossed together the resulting F1 progeny all possess orange roots. When these F1 progeny are selfed, the resulting progeny are in the ratio of 9:7 orange to yellow.
Can anyone explain to me how this happens? I know that the homozygotes are the yellow while the heterozygotes are the orange, but I'm not sure what the gametes in the F1 cross are then. There's probably something silly I'm overlooking.
1 AnswerBiology9 years agoEnzyme Kinetics Question, Beer Lambert Law?
Calculate the amount of LDH activity (U) in a 3.0 ml assay and a 1.0 cm cuvette that yields A = 0.20 min-1. (Note: Epsilon340nm of NADH = 6220 M-1cm-1).
So I Know that Beer Lambert is Delta A = Epsilon x Delta C x l, And I've turned it to C = A/epsilon.l and turned epsilon to 6.2 mM and stuff. I plug my stuff in and get 0.032 microM per min, I don't even know if this is right, or what to do with it next.
Can anyone help me out please?

Hey, I was just wondering if there's a way in logic pro to sort of place the sound of static over the top of a project? I want to just put it in the background so it sounds like old time radio. Is there a way to do this other than downloading a track of static and importing it? Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Computers9 years agoHow can I get an eastpak backpack posted to me?
Hi, I want to get an eastpak backpack for christmas, but I live in Australia and their store only posts to Europe. I've looked all over the interwebz for a place that sells them in Australia but all I find are these silly little indie backpacks which aren't what I want at all. Is there a way, with Amazon or something I can get one posted to me from the UK or is there a better way to do it?
1 AnswerOther - Outdoor Recreation9 years agoHow do I find the roots of this complex exponential?
How do I find the roots to this:
z^3+2 z^2+3 z+2 = 0
I just can't work out how I should start it is the main issue. Answers are apparently
-1, -1/2+/-sqrt(7)/2.
2 AnswersMathematics10 years agoComplex Numbers Problem?
I was asked to express (-1/sqrt(2)+i×1/sqrt(2))^15 in cartesian form, so I switched it to polar form as (1/2^15)(e^(i45pi/4) I then broke that down into cartesian form but in the answers it has -(1+i)/sqrt(2). But where does the (1/2)^15 go? It just seems to have disappeared which doesn't make sense.
3 AnswersMathematics10 years agoApplication of Calculus?
A particle is moving along the curve y=x^2/(1+x'), where both x and y are functions of time. Express the rate of change dy/dt in terms of the rate of change dx/dt.
I really don't know how I'm supposed to incorporate t into this, I looked at the answer also and it shows dy/dt=(x^2+2x)/(1+x^2)^2dx/dt, and I have no idea where they got that extra x^2 from on the numerator. I think it has something to do with x'? Except I don't know what x' is... This question has been a total fiasco. Can anybody please help me?

Determine the maximum possible area of a rectangle which has its bottom left vertex at the origin and its top right vertex on the ellipse: x^2/25 +y^2/16 = 1.
I thought this was happening, then I checked the answer and was wrong... quite wrong. The answer is apparently 10 units sq. when x = 5/sqrt(2).
