  • How do I get out of starvation mode and back into fat burning mode?

I'm a 5'7" male. I've recently lost a much needed 30 lbs, but to get there I've reduced my calorie intake so low that I'm eating at nearly anorexic levels. I know this is not healthy which defeats the purpose of losing weight in the first place. My BMR is suppose to be 1860...I eat about 900 calories/day and I literally burn 1,000 calories/day. I started out by trying to lose 4lbs/wk. When I was 215 and going from no physical activity to physically active this was fine, but now I'm putting way to much stress on my body. I've obviously been losing weight, but I'm starting to realize now that a fair amount of that is muscle Unfortunately, I'm still 20-30 lbs. overweight. How do I get my metabolism back to normal so I can get back to burning fat and not muscle without gaining the weight back I've already lost? I don't mind putting in work, but I'd like not to take a giant leap backwards to start.

  • How can I lose the most weight without losing muscle mass?

I'm currently moderately obese with a BMI of about 31.5. I'm about 5'7" and a half and I weigh about 205. I've been strength training 3 days a week for about 20 min. and doing cardio 6 days a week for what usually ends up being about 3 hours a day. On training days I typically work two muscle groups so as not to overwork any muscle group and I've cut my calorie intake to somewhere between 1500 and 2000 calories (depending on how hard I work out). I also drink a protein shake after workouts on training days. I've lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks, but I also feel like I'm losing muscle. What's the best way to continue to lose weight without losing muscle and even possibly gaining some? Should I increase my calorie intake ( I usually eat small meals every two hours so I'm not usually hungry?) Increase my strength training and reduce my cardio? I'm curious what others have to say.

  • Can anybody tell me where I might find a database of league stats for the Canadian Football League?

Preferably I'd like to see one that goes back at least to the 60s.
