24 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoQuestion for Republicans About 2012 Prospects?
The news channels are already profiling respected Republican candidates for 2012. Even though I am a Democrat, I did find some of these prospects interesting. Bobby Jindal of LA surprising caught my attention, and the he was referred to as the 'Republican Obama' in regard to his electrifying passion and strong articulation/speeches. Who are you looking forward to seeing in 2012 and why? Who would be a good match up against Obama?
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAre there any Republicans out there that can actually accept McCain's loss graciously and move on?
Time to move past the continuous mudslinging and start rebuilding America. You don't have to like Obama. After all, Democrats disliked Bush. There has to be a few Republicans out there that is sick of the sore losers.
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCan we get past the continuous mudslinging now that the election is over?
Even McCain called for peace and unity to support the new President-Elect. I feel that McCain gave a gracious and heartfelt concession speech. Isn't it time to move forward now and rebuild America?
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDo you think McCain will personally offer condolences to Obama on the news of the death of his grandmother?
Or do you think McCain will issue a press release statement instead of a personal phone call?
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is religion constantly dragged into the political arena? ?
Isn't there supposed to be a separation of religion and state? Not everyone shares the same religious beliefs and faith, yet everyone is always tossing around a candidate's religion or God. Looking for educated responses please. No preaching!
18 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoCurious Question: Democrats, do you ever watch FOX news? Republicans, do you ever watch MSNBC?
I am a Democrat, and I do like to bounce from network to network just to hear all of the different slants to the stories. I prefer MSNBC & CNN, but I do flip over to FOX news as well. I usually don't stay on the FOX channel too long though.
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat can I prepare for dinner with leftover fruit salsa?
I tried a new recipe for a pan-seared salmon with a salsa of crushed pineapple, mango, tomato, onion, and seasonings. The salsa was fantastic and I have a lot leftover for tomorrow's dinner. My husband does not want fish again. Any other dinner recipe ideas? He will eat shrimp, chicken, beef, & pork.
7 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy did Sarah Palin have her 7 year old daughter Piper address a rally and say "Vote for my mom!"?
Is Palin not teaching her kid that it is McCain running for President-not her? Is Palin using her kids at rallies for political gains? The daughter is cute and all, but what does she contribute to the political arena?
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHas anyone seen the movie W. yet? Opinions/Comments?
I'll wait until the movie gets to the $2.00 theatre to see it. But I am interested in what you guys have to say!

Wear political hats, t-shirts, or buttons?
Have political signs on your front lawn? Do the signs advertise your Presidential support or the support of a local proposition?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDid you know that you may not be allowed to vote if you wear political paraphernalia at the polling place?
This is the first time I heard about this law, which has variations in many states. In a nutshell, if you wear political t-shirts, hats, or buttons to represent your vote, you may be asked to remove them before entering the polls. If not, you may not be allowed to vote because the law states it is in violation of campaigning at the polls. (You know, stand back 75 feet) If you refuse to remove your political gear, polling volunteers have been told to not allow the person to vote.
I have never heard of this before, but apparently it's been one of those laws on the books in many states for quite some time, but never enforced. In Arizona, the news reported that there will be more enforcement of the law. I have found a 33 page document that supports this law-look for your state. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression are also included in this document.
Thoughts, comments, opinions? This is sure to turn away many die-hard voters!
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow do you feel about discussing politics to an unregistered voter?
During a discussion about the recent debates with an acquaintance, I learned that she was not a registered voter. This is someone in her mid 30's and also did a few years in the military. I was a bit turned off with continuing the conversation. Do you think a person who is unregistered to vote has a valid opinion and a right to discuss politics? Her excuse for not registering is that she's just not into politics. Valid or invalid excuse?

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoSay something kind about the opposing candidate?
There are so many characters and personalities here, and that's what I love about this section. So I am looking for some honest people to say something kind about the opposing candidate. Even if you truly dislike the policies and beliefs of the other guy, can you still find it in your heart to say something kind?
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho is ready for a strong debate tonight?
How many times will McCain refer to the 'middle class' or say 'my friends'? Will McCain bring up Ayers, only to be knocked down by Obama's response? Will Obama bring up the Keating 5? Of course since we are talking about events in the past, everything is game, right?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWill you vote for a Presidential candidate only, or will you also vote state/local level?
Just curious how many of you plan to only vote for a President and how many will continue the rest of the ballot to elect state and local leaders, in addition to any propositions that will be on your ballot.
Do you get involved with your local elections? Why/why not?
23 AnswersElections1 decade agoWould be willing to invite one of the candidates to your home for a family meal?
Be polite and respectful please! Would you honestly invite an opposing candidate to your home? What would you serve? (Again-be respectful & dignified-no dog food or poison) Why or why not?
