Any words of encouragement?
Well, I was diagnosed with Folliculitis a couple of weeks ago, and my doctor prescribed some antibiotics and recommended a face wash as well. I've been going on the prescription since then, and have only missed one day. My face doesn't seem to be clearing by much, and it's just stressing me out completely. I've been dealing with this since October, but I just thought it was acne. So, I ended up not going to the doctor 'til January. I'm just worried this is never going to clear up because I've searched and searched all over the internet, and there are a lot of stories about people who have dealt with this for 10 years +. I don't know if I can take it that long. My life has already gone kinda kaput since this started. I've been isolating myself from everyone because I think I look disgusting, and to find out this may not go away after the antibiotics? It's just killing me. Any encouragement or tips would be greatly appreciated.
3 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoCan someone please help me with this song?
There's a song that was on a Shoe Carnival ad around Christmas, and the lyrics are along the lines of "I just can't stand it. I want that candy." I've been searching EVERYWHERE for it, and nobody seems to know the name of it. I even attempted to contact Shoe Carnival, and they helped me none. If you know the artist or name of this song, please let me know! Also, the artist is NOT Amanda whatever from one of the other Shoe Carnival ads. Thanks!
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agoDoes a whey protein and soy milk shake still bulk you up?
So, for the past couple months I've been battling with a moderate acne condition that I didn't have in the summer. I've been baffled as to why this has been happening until I read an article that talks about how milk can be a big trigger for acne because of all the hormones included in it. This makes sense to me now because ever since I really started working out my skins become progressively worse. I used whole milk with my shakes because I heard that's supposed to increase bulk, but now I'm trying to stay away from it. I was wondering if soy milk would have a similar effect to whole milk, and if not, what would be the most adequate substitution for whole milk. Thanks!
10 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoIs it possible that I have rosacea?
I have had periods where my face is fairly clear while I've had others when there are blemishes all over it. It's never been as drastic as the change I've experience in the past couple of weeks I'm also curious of opinions about salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Of course, I know I shouldn't use those if this is, in fact, rosacea. Just curious about treatments in general. What do you think would help my skin condition? I'm attaching two photographs. The first is from October, about a month ago, and the second is recent. Thank you.
4 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoWhy has it been so difficult?
So, I've never been with anyone, and I'm kind of getting tired of it. :/ I'm not to the point of picking up anyone that'll give me a chance. Recently, a guy tried to get together with me twice, but both times he bailed. It's just kinda discouraging, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I try my best to be nice to others, and I dress fairly well. I am a bit skinny (130 lbs), so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. My face also tends to break out, but it's not like I don't wash my face. I think I'm pretty good on hygiene, actually. I see plenty of guys I'm attracted to, but I am a bit reserved or shy. I consider myself more masculine although I probably do have some feminine tendencies. Meh, life's just been difficult lately, I guess, and I'm tired of getting my hopes up. I guess I just wrote this to get everything off my mind, but if you do have comments or encouragement/tips, they're greatly appreciated.
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhat should I do about my face?
Yeah... I know that question was weird. :/ Anyway, I've had acne ever since high school, and it's been pretty sporadic. Sometimes it's not bad at all or almost gone, and at other times I break out like crazy. I'm kind of tired of this hectic agenda my face has going, and I really want to get rid of my acne. I've used almost everything from Proactive to Clean&Clear to Biore, and none of it seems to completely rid me of acne. My face also gets very oily, so that's not helping much either. So, I'm coming to you guys asking for suggestions about products or if it just may be time for me to meet with a dermatologist. I've always thought of it, just didn't know if my acne problem was serious enough.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoCan you help me as I'm starting?
I'm a guy dabbling in the massive world of makeup. Yeah, I'm new. I want to wear makeup, but I don't want it to be noticeable. How can I tell if the tone I've picked is too light for my natural skin tone? My friend advised me to get a bronzer as well to make my skin darker if I need to as well as give my skin a sun-kissed glow. The LAST thing I want is for people to notice that I'm wearing makeup, so any advice is greatly appreciated. I just want it to look as natural as possible. Thanks for your time!

Distance
An inch apart,
can be the same as a thousand miles.
I am a prisoner of my own mind.
How do I set
these captive feelings free,
To find what you think?
I will search
through movement and speech.
It won't be enough.
To break free -
from this island in the sea.
I long to join you.
But all alone,
I find myself, with empty arms.
An inch apart -
A thousand miles away.
4 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think of my poem?
Solitary
For earth and sky to meet
What a grand reunion
But I
I know nothing of the sort
For I am a wand'ring comet
drawn to the sun and pushed away
I long to be caught
in the gravity of some heavenly body
But alone I soar
without one to cling to
I pass Mercury, Venus, and Earth
Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn
And at the end
In the corner of the Solar System
I find one alone
as me
And see it fit to be
Pluto, king of the dead
My poems are usually written out of admiration, but this one is a bit more personal and solemn. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to critique! I greatly appreciate it.
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think about this poem I wrote about Endymion?
I've posted this one before and was told to work on it a bit more. Here's my result, and I hope you enjoy. Give me your thoughts and criticism! It's greatly appreciated. It's the story of Endymion according to one account of the legend in Greek Mythology.
Endymion
The dryads dance 'round yonder hill
fit for a shepherd boy
With none in sight a flock roams free
Alone to graze and toil
At closer glance I find a shade
without a tree to claim it
And wrapped inside this shadow
A beautiful boy dreams free
His young heart beats the rhythm of Life
but Age dare not caress him
For on his eyelids, each now shut
A kiss from lady Selene
Alone he lays without a chance
to wake from his dark slumber
Eternal life has been given him
by the spell he is put under
The first a gift from the fair Moon
The second its consequence
You can find them in the Night
Fair love and her sleeping prince

1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoWhat are your thoughts on this?
So, I am attracted to guys, but I don't see why that has to be a HUGE part of my life. I constantly feel pressure from people to declare my sexuality. Why should I have to? So yeah, I love a guy. Is it different from the love that another guy feels for a girl? Why do people feel like they have to "out" others? What if I don't see sexuality as a closet but rather as a hidden treasure that someone else must dig to find? Is it weird that I don't want to wear my sexuality on my sleeve? Ok, I'm satisfied with these questions. Give meh sum ANSWUHZ! :D
9 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoWhat are your opinions of this poem?
Aether
A vast melancholic wave with glittering eyes
It sits upon horizon
I stare in amazement
At a creature so beautiful words have no meaning
Each eye ever finding its place ‘round the world
Luminescent pearl, its jewel
The beast that never sleeps
The beast that never talks yet has so much to say
It reaches out gently as the earth makes its way
Those who seek shall find
Meanderers be blind
To the Divine evidence shown in the glittering eyes
A tribute to the heavens above. One of my earlier poems. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions! Thanks guys.
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat are your thoughts on this poem written about Endymion?
Endymion
The mountain alive with green
I find none but a flock
Aimless and abandoned
No herder in sight
At closer glance I find a shade
With no tree about
Wrapped inside
A boy full of youth
His young heart beats
But age dare not touch his body
For his dreaming eyes
Belong to Selene alone
This moonkissed boy
A blessing and curse
Eternal life
By eternal sleep
All right. I wrote this one today, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. It's based upon the Greek Mythological story of the beautiful youth, Endymion, and how the Moon, Selene, fell in love with him. Give me your thoughts and let me know if you have suggestions!
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat are your opinions about my poem, Persephone?
Persephone
A long cold night
And all creation stirs
The sun is rising
Painting the bleak earth
With blades of green
And blossoms of white
I find myself in this awakening
A celebration of return
To find what was missing
My eyes are bound to the stars
But soon the sun will rise
Until that day I'll stare in wonder
As creation awakens through rain and thunder
Tell me your thoughts, and please be honest. A poem inspired by Persephone or Proserpine from Greek Mythology.
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think of this poem?
Lunatik
I see your face
but we cannot touch
Your natural movement
is the source of my longing
Pale in the night
Veiled in the light
I yearn for your attention
Reality is set
You will never know me
But I will be cursed by your constant presence
To find a one to match your wonder
Would cause my heart to burst in thunder
But none can match your luminescence
Or will the seas to flow
So turn 'round my head
O satellite
And taunt my wilting soul
You may have won the hearts of men
But it is mine you stole
I write a good bit of poetry and am influenced most by my natural surroundings, experiences, and Greek mythology. I know my craft may not be by any means above amateur, but I was just wondering about your thoughts. Please be nice. :]
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoHow long should I wait to work out again?
I'm 19, and if I worked out at noon one day is it considered a day if I wait to work out at noon the next day? I've heard you're supposed to let the muscles have time to repair and grow, so clarification would be awesome!

Jean Grey's my favorite, but she's a girl. :P I'd definitely go with Angel though. That'd be a nice ability.

What are your thoughts on being single versus being in a relationship, and what are your strategies for approaching guys you like?
5 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoDo gay guys find me attractive?
So, *sigh* I've never done this before, and I want an honest opinion. I grew up constantly unsatisfied with my own appearance, and by Junior year of high school I basically threw it to the wayside. I mean, of course I still care what I look like, but I am not as concerned about it. Well, after all these years I want to know what people think. I haven't really been in many relationships, so that's also helped me form the opinion I have of myself. I see plenty of people I'm attracted to but constantly tell myself that there's somebody else they're looking at as I'm looking at them. This is where you guys come in. The first picture I've attached is me not smiling. The second has a smile. Go ahead and do your worst. As I said earlier, I just want to know what you think. Without further ado:
