  • I have my grandfather's WW 1 dog tags?

I have my grandfather's WW 1 dog tags, I was wondering if someone could tell me for sure what the initials AFF stood for. I believe it from what little I can find that it is a reference to the Army Air Corps but I would like to know for sure.

  • Purple Pseudochromis?

    Purple Pseudochromis

I saw one of these, about 1 1/2", at my LFS and thought it was a very cool fish. And it was reasonably priced also. My question is how nasty is it going to be in my 30 gallon FOWLR tank. I have a 2" Fiji Blue Devil and a 3 1/2 - 4" Melanurus Wrasse in there now.

  • Saltwater stocking question?

i just upgraded to a 30 gallon reef with a 10 gallon sump. I have 156W of t5ho lighting, half 10K and half actinic. A 250 gph skimmer in sump, and 250 gph circulation pump and about 200 gph return from the sump. Current invert stocking is about 15 snails, mixed nassarius, cerith and margarita, and 7 blue leg hermits. Also, 1 feather duster, not the large hawaiian type. I also have a few frags of green star polyps and finger leather corals. Current fish are 1 yellow tail damsel. 1 blue damsel and one domino damsel. I am assuming I will have to rehome the domino at some point. I would like to add another feather duster, and 1 or 2 more fish. I was thinking about some type of sand sifting goby and either a flame angel or a clown and bubble tip anemone combination. Which would you think would be best? Any overstocking problems? Current phosphates is .25 and nitrates is 0. Also, would that be sufficient lighting for some other corals?

  • Flame angel question?

I have a 30 gallon reef tank with 3 damsels, green star polyps and some finger leather corals, along with the normal cleaning crew, I would love to add a flame angel to the tank but I am not sure about a couple of things Will the angel be compatible with the damsels? If not I could get rid of one or all of them. And, I have heard that flame angels will nip at corals. Is that true and how much of a threat would it be to mine?

  • Bristleworm Id help please?

I found this picture that looks just like what I have in my 10 gal nano reef tank. Unfortunately, the picture wasn't identified. Can someone tell me what it is and if I need to be concerned or not? I have seen maybe 3 or 4 and they are 2 -3 inches long on average. http://www.reefcorner.com/images/BristleWorm.jpg

  • Saltwater Bristlworms?

I just added my first few snails too my new Nano reef tank. It is fully cycled and showing the first diatom bloom. While checking on the snails I noticed what appears to be bristleworms on my live rock. The are about 1 inch long and look like centipedes. Is this a problem I need to address or will it be ok?

  • Nano reef lighting question?

I have (2) 40w 6500K daylight compact fluorescent lights on my 10 gallon. I am planning on converting it to a nano reef. Is there any coral that will do well with that lighting or should I go fowlr until I can buy a better light? I have an HOB filter, heater and will add a power head for flow. I plan on using live sand and live rock for primary filtration. The HOB will be for added flow and occasional water polishing, with maybe some carbon in it

  • Nano reef setup equipment?

I am in the very early stages of planning to convert a current 10 gal FW setup to a nano reef. I have a small HOB filter, heater and tank. I also have a 2 bulb incandescent hood that I Will put in 2 Corallife 50/50 20w bulbs. My question is this, I have a marineland 220 canister filter that I no longer need for my 55. Could I use this for flow instead of a powerhead, and then have it available for an occasional water polishing also? This would save the expense of buying a new powerhead if t would work.
