I just started a blog on TTC. I have been going through the infertility treatments and issues for many years now and I wanted to share some of what I have learned. You can ask questions, and just see a light hearted take on things.

Hello all!

I just in the last few days started a blog on TTC. My DH and I have been trying for baby #1 for over 5 years. I wanted to start a blog to help others that are going through the same thing as I and give a light hearted take on the drama of trying to conceive.

It is still under construction and what you will see if you visit today will be evolving and changing over the next few weeks. I am hoping to start a book club on my site, I will be posting recipes (I am Gluten Free), and would like to take one day a week to focus on answering questions from followers. I will also share my experiences and list information on a variety of topics surrounding TTC.

After failed pregnancies, failed fertility treatments, lots of money....I have finally gotten a good strong POSITIVELY POSITVE! I am now in need of wishes, prayers, baby dust....super glue...lol to keep my lil' bean in there!

To those of you having a hard time TTC I went gluten free 5 mths ago, I do not have an allergy and I started getting B vitamin shots. We did this all on our own after years of fertility treatments had failed.

My niece turns 1 year old on April 30th. In the invitation we are adding that everyone bring something that they would like to put in a time capsule for her, to be opened on her 18th birthday. What are your ideas as to what would be good to include in the time capsule. I will be writing her a letter and I was thinking about putting a piece of jewlery in it, but what would be good to mark the era she was born in, that would also entertain her in the future???

Okay so I do not even know for sure that I am pregnant yet...

I had my second IUI w/ clomid and HCG trigger shot about 10 days ago, I know the timing was right on and I really think that this is the month. I my temp is staying high, I had an big dip on day six, then a steady higher temp than before now for a couple of days. The last 2 days I keep getting these waves of nausea it is such and uncomfortable feeling. I haven't been sick yet cause I stop and take a few deep breaths and lie down.

Could I have symptoms already??? Seems pretty far fetched, unless maybe its twins or more ( I had 3 possible 4 good follicles before the IUI).

What do you think? I have taken tests and they have all come up positive but I had the HCG shot so they would, I get a blood test on the 15th.

Did my first IUI this month clomid days 5-9 hcg shot on the 29th of april IUI on the 30th and lots of BDing for a few days after, I did not ovulate until the 1st. I am just sure it is not going to work this month, but I am really trying to stay positive.

I had 2 good follicles and I know that it is possible that it worked but I just don't think it did!!!!...lol the 2WW is the absolute worst!!!!

Can anyone give me some positive TTC stories?

Hey ladies! I finally had my first IUI procedure w/ clomid day 5-9 of cycle and hCg shot on april 29 w/ IUI on april 30th. My doctor insists I have to wait until the 14th until we find out if it worked or not.....the time is driving me insane!!! I had two really good follicles so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

For those that have done this how many IUI's before you got your BFP and did anyone get their BFP before the 14 days were up? I know with the hCg shot I could get a false positive but I want to know now!!!...lol

What is really great is that my sister had her baby on April 30th and I may have concieved mine on april 30th!!!!

My sister is 36 wks 4 days w/ her first baby, she called me this morning thinking she might be having contractions. Seeing as how this is her first and I have not had a successful pregnancy I have no idea. So what is the difference how do you know the difference between really labor pains beginning and braxton hicks contractions? She is having a tightness across her lower abdomen and sharp pains, they come and go but are not in consistant intervals, so we know it is not full blown labor, but are the contractions starting? She has already begun to drop over the past week, how long did you ladies go after you dropped.

Thank you for answering she is freaking out, she has a doctors appt. this afternoon but she is contemplating going in to work today.

Hey ladies! Laula has given me hope!!! Congrats girlie!...again!

Okay so I started taking Metformin 3 weeks ago, my doctor has me charting (bbt) and I thought this month is not going to work but.....

This morning I had a dip on my chart 96.5, cd 17, and I have tons (gobs...it's actually pretty icky..lol...tmi..sorry) of fetile CM. We BD's on 23rd, and last night just incase I was going to ovulate. Please everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed for me that this is my month!!!

If we arenot this month then we are going to do clomid and IUI starting next month, but I would love for it to happen the natural way (and not tell my child the doctor got me pregnant...lol).

What is preseed? I had never heard of this does it work??

Okay my sister is pregnant with her first baby after TTC for 8 yrs. About 5 yrs ago she lost a baby very early in pregnancy. While she was pregnant that time her husbands cousin was pregnant and my sister had said she just loved the name Avery for a girl and that is what they were going to use. Well she lost the baby and the cousin ended up carrying to term and then that B**** named the baby Avery Michelle (michelle is my sisters middle name). Well she is now due with a little girl in May and they are having a very difficult time picking a name and the only name her and her husband really love is Avery. Everyone in the family knows about what the cousin did, and it has even been brought up before. My sister has only seen cousin Avery 3 times since being born (the live right by them though) and wants to go ahead and use the name. Her and her husband are fine with it but her husbands mother will be around both Avery's and the both grandmothers are close.

Should she take her name back since they really love it, or settle for something less that they are not so crazy about???

Okay so my boyfriend and I have been together for 6yrs. We have been trying for a baby for 4 yrs with no luck. We just started with a new fertilty doctor and we are TTC w/ IUI next month.

Here is my problem. He works with various different people old young men women, and recently he has been text messageing an former co-worker who happens to be 20 and female (he is 29). I absolutley do not care if he has female friends and I have always trusted him for the most part but w/ these text messages recently he has been deleting them (but leaving all other messages in his in box) and he lied and told me that he was getting text messages from one person and it was really her. I never check his phone or play I Spy but I found this out by accident and then I started keeping my eye out. When I asked him about this he said I just didn't want to make you mad, and there is nothing going on I just didn't want to fight about it.

I do not believe this at all, and I think the reason he deleted them was because there was content that would have caused me to be upset. What do I do????? We obviously love each other we are (were) getting ready to make a baby next month???

Do you think it is innocent or do you think I am right to be upset??

By the way we are not married as a mutual decision we made that we do not need a piece of paper to know we love each other. We do not plan on officially ever getting married, unless one or the other had a change of feelings about it. We always just end up saying my husband or my wife...We own 2 cars and a house together???

Okay, so I am on day 5 of taking Metformin for the first time, I have PCOS and I feel so yucky!!! What have any of you done to feel better. I haven't had the headaches I hear about I just feel very queasy, is this from the Met? Have any of you taken this and felt bad or is it not the Met? Please help me I can not stand this and I am supposed to start taking 2x's and day tomorrow instead of once a day and I am not looking forward to it.

I started seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist this month and when I went to his office on CD 17 he said I have not and probably will not ovulate this month, and that I did not have any follicles that would produce and egg. My periods have been very irregular and I have started skipping them again so I figured I would skip this month because he said I wasn't going to ovulate. But I just started my period right on time when I should have had I ovulated???

I am so confused? Should I call the doctor and tell him, or talk to his nurse when I go in for more tests tomorrow?? Do you think he just missed it because I usually do not ovulate until cd20 anyway, but he should have seen a ripe follicle by then right????

Okay so my only sister is finally having a baby after TTC for 8 yrs. I have been TTC for 5 yrs, so this is something we are both very very excited about. Her and I live across the country from the rest of our family, so for her baby shower there will only be 8 of us from our side of the family. While I did not mind throwing the whole baby shower for her husbands entire family and our meer 8 people, my sister said that her husbands cousin could handle the invites and such because I do not know but a few of his family members.

I called his cousin on multiple occasions for 2 mths straight and she would not return my calls, I heard through my sister's mother inlaw what they had been planning. I made it very clear on several different phone calls and voice mails that I had the cake covered.

Well after not hearing from anyone I called the mother inlaw again, and I was told that there was nothing that I needed to do the cake and everything was taken care of and that I just needed to show up????

Am I wrong for being completely POed about this, my sister is very upset about this as well. She is my only sister, I was her maid of honor, we are very close and the only reason I was not throwing the whole this is because it was mostly his family attending and I do not know them. I have to go to the shower in 2 weeks and I really do not know how to handle this.

Obviously I will be very polite and not ruin my sister's day, but she is so upset about it she does not even want to go to the shower and is not speaking to her mother in law right now.

Okay my sister and brother in-law are having their first little girl after 8 yrs of TTC. They have a few names in the running but they can not decide on anything. They are both very laid back, love the summer having drinks by their pool whenever they can, spend lots of time vacationing in Jamaica and Mexico, he is a teacher, she is a bank mgr, their names start with W and an A, last name starts with a D. I need first and missle name ideas.

Okay ladies, I am sooooo...mad! I made an appt. with a Reproductive Endocrinologist and I made the appt. 2 months ago, and today was the first available appt.. I left very early to get there and my husband changed his work schedule to attend the appt. with me. On the way there we got a flat tire....so my husband got out changed the tire and we were on our way. I called the office and said I think we are going to be about 15 minutes late because we got a flat ont he way and they said no problem go ahead and come in. We get there fill out the paper work very quickly sice we ended up being 10 mins. late. Then the nurse calls me and says the doctor will not see you because you were late, I explained what happened and how I called and they were like nope doctor said re-schedule????? I am so mad! It was 45 minutes away....

So they were able to squeeze me in for tomorrow but said I might have to wait awhile as they were doing me a favor of squeezing me in???

I am so mad, would you even go back to this doctor? The only reason I am even considering it is because he comes very highly recommended and is hard to get in to see in the first place.

What do you think? Should I go or find a new doctor...and what is the first appt. going to be like?
