Michigan Workers Comp info on carpal tunnel?
I am male, in my 20s and have bilateral carpal tunnel. My date of disability began 12--6-2011 and I have been off work since then since the only light duty work they wanted to offer me was using my hands and my doctor said no. I have not been paid, what-so-ever, since my last paycheck from working, and they are not denying my claim, (I already have a lawyer so don't tell me to get one and/or ask them) but they are not paying me and the next court date isn't for 2 more months. I returned to work a week ago, worked until the 5th day, and my hand locked up and now its swollen it my incision site and I know for sure I am unable to do my job anymore. I can't claim disability for reasons that don't pertain to this. What are my rights to get paid, and usually what is the settlement for severe carpal tunnel like I have where using my hands causes them to turn bright red, swell and im in incredible pain? I am going to see another lawyer for another opinion as well so don't tell me to ask another lawyer, but there has to be someone with a similar case that knows something....it also has been 3 months since the surgery on my hand and it feels like i just had it again after working those few days. Any INTELLIGENT responses would be greatly appreciated.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoWhere should I look for insurance?
I just found out that I'm pregnant for the first time. I am 25 years old, and not married. I do have a job as an x-ray tech but I'm not full time so I'm not eligible for benefits. Unfortunately everywhere I look says I make too much money for their insurance. I'm trying to catch up on bills and such so I really don't have as much money as they like to believe. Could someone please give me some suggestions on what I can do?
