I've been training dogs since I was 15 with my first dog. From then on, I've LOVED it. I went to school to train dogs and I think I've trained countless amounts of dogs and I am a licensed dog trainer and have been for 5 years. My ultimate goal is to open my own dog training school, but for right now I work at one and volunteer at a local shelter every once in a while to do the dirty work (ew) as well as some training! I love dogs and I know a lot about them and a lot about training and troubles with training!

  • Can untreated yeast infection cause sores?

I had unprotected sex with a guy about 40 days ago. Literally the day after the encounter, I felt burning in my vaginal area, thought I had a yeast or bladder infection or even STD. I continued to feel ichy and burning, but it wasn't anything too bad so I kind of forgot about it. However, today I noticed that I had a certain spot on my vaginal flaps that was particularly sore and it seemed inflamed--but I couldn't get a clear look at it really. I went in to get STD tested and had them take a look and results came back positive for a yeast infection and I took a pill. I feel like I might be getting a sore, from what I can see it looks like a red spot (not bump) and it's kind of ichy/sore ONLY when I touch it though. Could this just be from me leaving my yeast infection untreated for 40 days? Or is it an STD? (I'm getting results back for chalmydia, ghonnorea, herpes, syphillis, etc. in a few days, I just need to know if it is a possible result from the yeast infection)

  • Why has my beagle x basset started to shed in the middle of a cold Minnesota winter?

We got my dog in October and noticed he barely shed, however now in the end of December/early January when it's starting to get really cold--NOW he's shedding a bunch! It's not in big clumps or anything and there haven't been any changes in diet. Is he losing his puppy fur or something? He's 8 months so it's his first winter. I just want to know why this is happening or if I should be concerned! Thanks!

  • Clavamox and increased urination?

My 6 month old female Beagle x Basset Hound has been on Clavamox for about a week for an infected incision from her spay. Today, we've noticed that she is peeing a lot more often than usual. She's peed four times within 2 hours (all in the house except one outside). Is this a usual side effect? The Internet isn't much use. She still has a weeks worth of dosage left. Thank you!

  • Rimadyl Dog Emergency?

My dog has been on Rimadyl for 3 days after his Neutering. He was to take 1/4 of a pill twice a day. I was not informed as to its dangers. His name is Finn and he is a 6 month old beagle/basset hound and we have had him for about a month. After taking Rimadyl, he has been having lots of accidents, has been drinking a lot, and having to go out every two hours and sometimes can't even hold it that long. I saw that increase in thirst/bladder use is one of the dangerous side effects. He is done with it now, is there anything I can do? Could this be serious, I really can't lose him I already lost another one of my dogs and I don't know what I would do if I gave him medication that killed him.

    Please help, thank you.
