  • Will betta fish kill my shrimp?

I'm looking into getting a betta fish for my tank. I have 1 ghost shrimp, 1 cherry shrimp, and one rainbow/Malaya shrimp. I used to have a different fish, but he passed away. Long live Pablo.

Anyways, I came to the conclusion that I would get a female betta becuase they are less aggressive. What do you think?

I have 9 water wisteria and 3 marimo balls, a rock, and a cave in my tank, and the cave is shrimp- size only, I don't think a betta could fit there. Thanks for answering.

  • Does anyone have ideas on how to convince my parents to let me get a bigger fish tank?

Currently I have a 1.8 gallon with 3 shrimp and one male guppy. I reeeealy would like to get another 5 gallon and move my guppy into that, but I just got my tank about 2 months ago. It took a tone of convincing and my mom is so skeptical that she made me put the tank ontop of the base with a plastic try under that and a towel under the tray. I feel like I shouldn't even ask. I payed for everything of my current tank and will be paying for everything of my next tank as well as I am the only one who takes care of the fish anyways. Please help?

  • How can I convince my parents to let me get *another* fish tank?

So about a month and a half ago I purchased a 1.5 gallon aquarium after almost a month of pleading on my part. My parents said that I could only have a small tank, but I feel kinda bad about keeping my male guppy all by himself in a tank (besides a few shrimp). My tank is fully cycled and the levels of ammonia p, nitrites, and nitrates are always 0 but I still feel like my guppy doesn t have enough room. I also recently purchased a shrimp from Petco that they thought was a 40 cent Ghost Shrimp but after some research, it turns out that it is a rare Malaya shrimp that cost 9.99$ and I d love to get more and breed them in a new tank. I found a discount 5 gallon that is still relatively small but my mom is very restrictive about fish tanks and my dad is unsure, so does anyone have any ideas? Good grades won t work, I already have them.
