What could be causing my Civic's power loss?
I own a 2000 Honda Civic DX, and occasionally the engine loses all power (but doesn't actually stall) while I am driving it. This only occurs under certain conditions: usually when I am below half a tank of gas, and about 10-20 seconds after I start it up (so usually while I'm still in the parking lot or on my street). If I try to accelerate while it is choking, I just hear a weird popping or clicking sound coming from the engine, but no acceleration. I'm pretty sure that it is the fuel pump that is lagging after I start the car, as this would explain the delay before it peters out for a couple of seconds. Some days this problem will occur every time I start the car (I deliver pizza, so its a pretty big deal), and sometimes it won't happen for an entire week. I've already bought the replacement fuel pump and plan on installing it tomorrow, but other input would be nice. Also, it has not thrown a "check engine" code. Thanks!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoProhormones...?
Supposedly, Prohormones have been banned in the US since 2005, yet tons of supplements that I'm pretty sure classify as such, like Superdrol, are still available everywhere online. Are these supplements illegal to purchase if in the US, or are they just finding loopholes (by methylating them, or otherwise tweaking them)? And no, I'm not looking into using anything as dangerous as Superdrol, this is mostly just burning curiosity. I just want a straight answer, not a "how old are you?" or a "are using drugs, young man?"
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoDoes anyone know where I could find a good DIY spring install thread?
I ordered a set of Tein H-Tech springs for my 2000 Honda Civic DX (so, 5th gen) and would just like a link to a DETAILED DIY article. Thanks!

12 AnswersMovies1 decade agoUnderdrive crank pulley on 2000 Civic Dx?
I plan on getting my timing belt, water-pump, and several other belts changed in the next couple of weeks. I was considering buying an aluminum crank pulley and having the mechanic install it at the same time. The only affordable one I can find is a lightly underdriven Unorthodox pulley (~$180). My only concern is that I drive alot in city traffic doing pizza delivery, so I want to make sure that a bit of underdrive won't kill my alternator etc. Underdrive crank pulley are supposed to supply additional hp by reducing stress and weight at the crankshaft. Would you recommend this over a cat-back(I can only really afford one)?
Any knowledgable input would be appreciated. Thanks!
2 AnswersHonda1 decade agoStock wheels vs factory mag wheel package.?
Is there any performance advantage offered by choosing a car's optional (alloy) mag wheel package over the stock steel wheels, other than looks? If not, why do they claim these wheels to be "sportier"?
