  • Can an antibiotic make my body itch all over?

I'm on day 2 of a 7 day antibiotic. (2x a day) I feel ITCHY like no other. My legs, back, arms, even my face. My doctor told me to get Florajen 3 (probiotic) to prevent a yeast infection, so I'm taking that, too. (1x a day) I just can't quit itching. Is this normal?

  • What should I give for gratuity on a private yacht that I am getting via my time share?

My family and I (4 people total, all adults) are using our time share to trade for a 4 cabin catamaran in Turkey. It will be a trade for 2 weeks because of the power of the time share we have. What should we tip for the gratuity at the end of our trip?

We will be traveling in May. This is the company we will be using.

  • Can I have an internal fever without it registering on the thermometer?

I'm suffering from sinus infection. I was diagnosed at the doctor and am on prescription Sudafed. I'm also in the secretory phase of my menstrual cycle. I keep getting what feels like a fever. It lasts anywhere from a 3 hours to a full 24 hours. When it "breaks" I feel the cold sweat I associate with a fever break. During this fever time, I get hot sweats and I feel overwhelmingly hot. Not warm, hot. I feel like the heat is thrumming through my body. I was at my regular Gua Sha appointment 2 days ago and my therapist said my body felt like it had a fever. Mind you, this is a woman who has been putting her hands on me 2x a week for 5 months. Meanwhile, I keep taking my temperature because I could SWEAR that I am running a temperature. My normal body temperature is 98.0°. *This is NORMAL for me.* Yet I've been measuring anywhere from 96.9° - 97.3° for the past week. What is going on?

  • My car keeps dying but I can restart it. Is it the battery or the alternator?

My car is a 2004 Ford Focus SE. I think my alternator is going out, but when the guy checked it he said it was putting out over 14.5v, which is the high end. He suggested it could be wiring having to do with the alternator. He also checked the battery but I don't remember what he said about that. So maybe it's a battery problem? When I heard "alternator" my mind focused on that and the cost. I had been doing errands and it died 7 times. But it only happened when I was at a dead stop. Is there any way to figure it out without taking it to a repair shop and risk it dying and not starting while I'm driving there? I know it isn't the starter because there's no clicking. I've definitely dealt with starters before.

  • Deja vu, but what else does it mean?

I was thinking of the movie Signs, with Mel Gibson, and about 3 hours later I turned on my tv to watch the DVR and the very end of Signs was playing. Now I know you would think I saw it in the guide, right? And that I'm subconsciously thinking about it, right? Well, wrong. I had done an On Demand name search for the movie I recorded. So I never even saw the title Signs.

This happens other times, very randomly and infrequently, but I'll sing a song I haven't heard in years and then it's on the radio within 24 hours.

Why do we experience these deja vu moments?

  • Does Wisconsin law state city of Milwaukee ordinances?

Today, August 25, is Go Topless Day, and I'm just curious if the state law of Wisconsin which defines Indecent Exposure as "exposure of genitals or pubic area" overrules the city ordinance of Milwaukee that defines Indecent Exposure as "the anus, genitals or pubic area of a person or the areola of the female breast"? The difference of the words "areola of the female breast" is the source of the question, because I'm considering going topless, but only if I won't get arrested!!

So, does the State of Wisconsin law trump city of Milwaukee?

  • Back related nerve pain or anxiety?

I have begun feeling pins and needle pain in feet, specifically in the heels. I also feel it sometimes in my ankles and Achilles tendon. It can be one foot or both at the same time. The first time I felt it was a month ago. I had just gotten out of the shower and went to lie down. I had my feet propped up in a resting position. It lasted approx. 30 minutes. Now it happens more frequently and lasts longer. It happens when I am standing, sitting, or laying down.

My pain clinic told me that if the pain persists until my next visit that they will hyperventilate me. If the pain happens while the do this test then the pain is from anxiety/panic. If not, it may be due to pain.

    My info:

I suffer from a herniated disk at L5/S1, with Degenerative Disk Disease throughout my back (I have the back of an 80 year old according to my surgeon). I have undergone surgeries to fix the issue to no avail. I am currently on medicines to control other pain symptoms associated with the disk. However this medicine does not alleviate this new pain.

I also suffer from PTSD due to physical abuse as a child, as well as PTSD from the accident that resulted in the above. I have read that pins and needle pain can be a result of anxiety and panic, which PTSD is a form of.

    My points:

1 - Aside from the hyperventilation test, are there any other tests that can be performed, specifically by me at home by myself (my husband is at work and there is no one to look after me if I faint, hence why I won't do the hyperventilation test).

2 - Does anyone have a diagram or link to a diagram (large size please) that shows the spine and what each disk level correlates to where the nerve goes in the body.

  • Voluntary Hysterectomy at 30?

*Rude, mean, or derogatory comments will be reported and removed. This is a touchy, personal matter and deserves respect.*

I'm 30 years old and am considering getting a voluntary hysterectomy. My reasons are this:

1- I have severe back trauma that my neurosurgeon has told me makes me incapable of physically carrying a child

2- I have BiPolar 1 with this mental disorder going back on both sides of my family for at least 3 generations (documented) and I do not want to pass this on to a child

3- I don't want my own birth children. My husband has two children from a previous marriage and I am beyond content with my step children. I love them so much and my life is utterly complete with them!

4- I won't lie, I like the benefit of not getting a period and I do not want to take a pill or have an IUD inserted or get a shot to prevent my menstruations.

I am concerned about the onset of early menopause and it's affect on my body?

I know everyones bodies heal at different rates, but what is the average recovery for the surgery?

How can I get a doctor to take me seriously in my desire for a voluntary hysterectomy without getting the brush off because of my age? I am quite serious about my decision and my husband is in complete agreement with me and is supporting my choice. We've been married 10 years and he shares my thoughts as well.

If anyone could please share with me the differences between having a hysterectomy done and leaving both ovaries, taking one ovary and leaving one ovary, and taking both ovaries I would appreciate it.
